Guests have access to the pool and deck around the pool with the patio furniture umbrellas tables and chairs and of course exclusive use of the guest house with two bedrooms. The pool is not heated during the winter months but a special rate can be given to heat the pool depending on the increased temperature and length of time to heat the pool. Our average December air temperature is 65 F.

The guest house is very private and quiet. Pool is not fenced.

The property also has two other units, a large 1200 square foot guest house with two bedrooms and three beds which is set 80 feet apart divided by a hedge from the main property. There is also a one bedroom suite with kitchen. These units are also available for rent on Airbnb. Roughly the total square footage is 8000 square feet for the property. Please no loud noise after 10 PM

No loud noise after 9 pm and 9 am. There is no pool fencing, guest assume all liability and are responsible for watching children in the pool. By accepting the reservation you are confirming that you are accepting all liability for your children and your guests because the pool is not fenced or safeguarded in any manner.
Only guest that are registered through a reservation are allowed on the property without prior permission.
Guests can set the thermostat temperature between 70 degrees and 78 degrees Fahrenheit for the unit. The A/C system will automatically maintain the range of 60 - 85 without intervention by the guest.
Guests are required to clean dishes or have them loaded into the dishwasher upon departure and have all dirty towels and bed sheets in the laundry room.
Guest are restricted to the area around the pool above the staircase leading up to the pool. The built-in patio BBQ area near the main house is for the sole use of the Homer. Please enjoy the freestanding Blue BBQ near the pool. There is no smoking in or around the property. Parking is for two cars only. Parking is located right in front of the left garage door. One roll of toilet paper per person and two roll of paper towels will be provided upon arrival to get the guest started.
Registered guest must provide a copy of their ID prior upon check-in to owner OR supply Airbnb with a copy of driver's license or passport to be verified by Airbnb. Due to the shared use of the house there are no service pets allowed in the property these and all animals oppose a health risk to the owners who are elderly and young with allergies to pets. We are sensitive to your needs and will allow your pet to be crated outside in a safe place. Trash is bins are located on the left side of the garage.
Please do not remove the pool sweep from the pool as it will burn out the motor. The pool sweeper runs during super off peak power usage.

Great stay at Steven's. Listing is accurate. House was clean, and fully stocked with basic amenities. Dwelling was quiet. Fantastic experience, would not hesitate to book again.

Spacious and comfortable this place is truly a gem. We have family in Carlsbad and Encinitas and were down for a wedding in Solana Beach and the location was both central to everything we were doing but also tucked away in a beautiful private area. We felt like we were in a hidden retreat. Kitchen was fully equipped and the on site laundry was a huge plus for a mom of 2. Master bedroom was very comfortable and the outdoor area was quiet and retreat like with a beautiful pool.

Stayed at Steven’s place when myself and a colleague were in town on business. Instead of staying at a hotel we found Steven’s place at a very competitive rate and decided to give it a shot. The house is very nice and while a bit rough around certain edges it does retain it’s charm and was well worth the value. There were some quirks that were worked out with the “smart” thermostat system but Steven was responsive and attentive to any issues that I brought to his attention. All in all if you have business in the area or something similar I would highly recommend Steven’s place in Rancho Santa Fe!

We rented this casita and main house. Plenty of room for 12 adults to relax by the pool and BBQ in the patio. Would definitely recommend Stevens place!

Casita and pool absolutely match the airbnb pictures but, at the time of my booking, the casita (a small back house) seemed like a realtor's staged casita in the middle of an unsecured construction site behind an apparently vacated house. (construction equipment out in the open, tools, wood, abandoned toilets in the driveway, missing windows in the garage, dead grass, etc). Before booking, confirm the construction schedule as Steven seem to also book construction on the lot. Without construction, this location has the potential to be relaxing and quiet.

Cynthia is highly exaggerating the facts. This is an 8000 sqft home on 3 acres with three units on airbnb. The Main house at: www.airbnb.com/rooms/20014103 The Casita: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1359034 And a One bedroom suite with kitchen: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1020387 All are staged with everything you need including crystal. In Cynthia's review the work was being done on the main house which was an indirect improvement for the Casita, which is over 100 feet away. The remark I would like to correct is an 8 foot long section of fence around the trash area and material was stage ready to go. I was increasing the height of the fence. The project is now COMPLETED and it took 3 HOURS. I told Cynthia that the work would NOT be done while she was there and it wasn't. As for the toilets we are in a residential area and the toilets from the main house were replaced with new ones the day Cynthia arrived. I had them at the end of the drive-way to donate to Habitat for Humanities who was coming to pick them up the following day. To accommodate Cynthia I demolished the toilets and put them in the trash cans the evening Cynthia arrived. The garage is not for the use of any guest and is only for the owner of the property. Two small windows 15" x 24" on one of the 4 car garage doors were cracked and being replaced at the time as well. So they were removed and awaiting installation of new custom glass. Landscape is being refreshed and improved on a daily basis. In the winder the grass is greener. I don't know how to address Cynthia's comment of, "etc". Please take a look at the other Airbnb listing for many current photos of the entire property. I would like to thank Cynthia for recognizing the serenity and enjoyment of the surroundings this property has to offer. It's in one of the best locations in the area and we are in a micro climate zone of San Diego that offers temperate weather all year. I know we are spoiled....... I guess that is why Rancho Santa Fe has been on Forbes most exclusive zip codes list. Even Bill Gates has a horse ranch here along with a few other Billionaires. Keep traveling :-) Steven

We had a great stay at Stevens place. It is exactly as described. Very comfortable and clean. The location is fantastic and Steven was very helpful. Highly recommended.
