This room can fit five people. Nobody else will be in your room other than people in your group. The bunk beds sleep four, and the fifth person will sleep on a real mattress on the floor. There is a shared bathroom down the hallway, not a private bathroom.
This detached house was built in 1958 and has five bedrooms and is located on a huge hill near Twin Peaks and Golden Gate Park. I offer multiple bedrooms simultaneously on Airbnb so there will be other guests here during your stay.
There is plenty of free unlimited time parking in front of my house on the street, but not inside the house as the check box I checked suggests.
If you book more than two months in advance, you must set the guest count to a minimum of four people.
You are welcome to make use of the kitchen. There is a large living room with a large dining room table you can eat or work at. There is a deck out back that has a fabulous view of wooded hills. The nearest house out back is a block away, so you feel like you are living in a forest. Our young border collie dog Angel poops and pees on this deck, so please watch your step. Angel will bark a lot and be very excited to see you, so please don’t stay here if you or anyone in your group is scared of dogs.
You get your own bedroom with two bunk beds. I also provide towels, sheets and blankets. If you book for five guests, I place a real twin mattress on the floor for the fifth person. There is one five-foot-wide closet with hangers.
If you want to cook while you're here, you can store food in the fridge and the kitchen, but you should keep it in a bag and put your name on it, so my other guests don't accidentally think it's food provided by me for them. There is just one large refrigerator in the house, so it’s usually packed. You may not store food or eat in your room.
The closest underground Municipal Railway (MUNI) station is Forest Hill. You can walk there in 15 minutes. The 36 MUNI bus stops there and will take you to and from the house. The bus stop is right in front of the house. This bus is lightly used and only comes every 30 minutes, so many prefer to walk to the station. Uber and Lyft are affordable in San Francisco, and many of my guests bypass public transit entirely in favor of ride sharing services.
The house is centrally located near the geographic center of San Francisco, but it is not close to bars, shops, tourist spots, nightlife or anything other than private residences. That means this location is unusually quiet and even peaceful for a busy city like San Francisco.
I provide extensive breakfast ingredients, so you can cook breakfast free of charge, which can save you a lot of money versus eating out. You can make yourself a second or third breakfast for lunch or dinner, but that costs extra.
Quiet hours are between 10pm and 7am. I ask that you whisper quietly after 10pm, and not watch any movies without earphones. Please don’t move around much or pack your bags during quiet time. You should also not plan to sleep soundly past 7am if you stay here. When a dozen people start walking around, cooking breakfast, showering and talking with each other, the house is full of energy and can be noisy. I provide earplugs to help you sleep even if others are snoring.
If you book more than two months in advance, you must set the guest count to a minimum of four people, even if your party is smaller. If you forget to do this and Instant Book, you will have to Alter your reservation to increase the guest count to four, or you will be obligated to cancel your reservation within 47 hours of booking.
The floors squeak, the plumbing groans, the walls are scuffed, the kitchen is 60 years old... in other words, the house is old and tired. Don't stay here if you want to feel like you are staying at a five star hotel. Yes, my listings has five stars, but that's more about my hospitality and cleaning skills than the physical surroundings.
Please read my house rules before you book, as there are extra charges for not adhering to some of the rules.
