Originally a hay barn built in the 1940's, Selah is surrounded by 50 acres of grazing farmland. Renovated in 2016, Selah Barn includes a kitchen (with refrigerator/freezer and icemaker, double cast-iron porcelain sink, and stovetop), a cozy living room with 2 couches and a recliner, and a full bath with walk-in tiled shower. The bedrooms have a bunk-house feel; with two twin bunks in one and a full-size bottom and twin upper bunk in the other. Come enjoy a peaceful retreat for body and soul.
The outside walls of the rooms (with the exception of the kitchen) are all repurposed wood from the original barn. The cozy feel of the bunk rooms are reminiscent of Lisa's childhood stays at her grandfather's cabin and nearby summer camp. Enjoy some books while you're here (including Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew).
Sit back on a couch and read a book, cook s'mores over a fire around the firepit, watch the stars on a clear night, or play a classic game around the kitchen table. The kids can run in the back yard to their heart's content. Then enjoy a visit to Stone Mountain to watch the laser show at night, just 25 minutes down the road. You can do a lot, or absolutely nothing!

Échanges avec les voyageurs
We will be available during most of your stay. We live in the house on the same property, so feel free to give us a call or knock on the door if we can help you. If we see that you've arrived, we'll swing by to say "hello!"
Selah Barn is cozy and comfortable. The total space is 864 sq ft, with the loft office (former hay loft) being 400 sq ft of that total. Each bunkroom is roughly 10 x 10 - great for sleeping (with 5 twin beds and one full-size), not so great for dancing. If you did want to dance, we've got a large backyard with a fire pit - so dance under the stars to your heart's content!
I work from home, and the loft office is my main workplace (that's why Selah is usually not available during the week). When you visit, you are welcome to use the loft as you wish. My desk will be clean for you to use, an 8 ft table with chairs are available, plus a farm table, and another small couch (and the tv).
- Please do not park on the grass - we're working to build up the lawn for a wedding next year! You may park on the gravel driveway by the barn.
- No parties or drugs allowed.
- First 2 guests included in nightly fee. Additional guests are $5 per night. Children under 18 are exempt from additional guest charges.
- Guests are not allowed in our storage room or shop (carport area).
- Please clean your dishes before you leave.
- Quiet hours after 11pm and before 8am - we have children sleeping in our house on the property.
- Enjoy rest, relaxation, retreat and FUN!
We are a family with 5 girls, mostly grown. We love to travel, meet new people, and help others as we go. Our real passion is fulfilling the call of James 1:27 to care for orphans. We work full-time in local and global ministry helping churches equip families for adoption and fostering.
We are a pretty quiet family, and enjoy spending time with each other and friends, exploring the arts, and helping others live their God-given purposes for life.
