My place is a stones throw from UC Santa Cruz and close to downtown Santa Cruz. (URL HIDDEN) is a very large octagonal room with high, beamed ceilings, filled with art, light, and featuring a large, adjoining, trellised deck for relaxing and looking out over the lovely shared yard with long views of a eucalyptus grove. The room's comfortable seating area has an oversized couch and love seat facing an elegant gas fireplace and large screen TV. Small fridge, microwave, breakfast area. Enjoy!
This home near UC remains home to Robert Sward, Poet Laureate of Santa Cruz County, and was designed by professor Robert Alford and the late Gloria Alford, a painter and sculptor who was an integral part of the Santa Cruz Art community for 45 years. The guest room is a large octagonal room with a pavilion roof which features my mother's most beloved works, including her iconic Jade Princess (laboriously constructed out of 1970s computer chips). The beds are a very comfortable new queen size which surveys the space plus a new twin. There is a large screen TV for your enjoyment as well as a gas fireplace. A small refrigerator, Keurig coffee machine, tea, coffee, and electric kettle are provided for your use. The deck adjoining the space overlooks a lovely shared yard with views of a eucalyptus grove and is perfect for morning coffee and late afternoon reading. Please enjoy and make yourself at home.
