This basement apartment is a comfortable place to stay and has all the basic features you would need. The location is great, in a quiet residential neighborhood just 9 blocks to the very center of town and a quick trip to Brigham Young.
My first encounter with the place wasn't so positive, because it was late at night and you have to go to the side door which is just a door in the middle of a big blank wall with a light bulb above it, then when getting in you have a dingy staircase to go down. So you won't be inviting people over without wanting to guide them in. Thanks to Wendy for answering the phone at night to help talk me in.
The place was comfortable as I said, just lacking in warmth: there are few decorations, just the bare minimum of furniture, downstairs so a bit colder than you expect, lukewarm water in the shower.
Provo is a great town and this is one of the nicest neighborhoods. Tree-lined streets with single family houses dominate. You can quickly drive to amazing outdoor locations including Slate Canyon and Rock Canyon and Provo Canyon. There's a lot of hiking UP that is rewarded by finding springs and creeks and great views, on surprisingly tree-lined trails with lovely fall colors at the time I was there in October.
