"Nagoyado" ~Owari/Shikemichi~ is a lodging house in the Shikemichi neighborhood which is within walking distance of Nagoya station. Shikemichi is a town that developed along with the activity of the "merchants" living there. It is an area where a large number traditional Japanese townhouses (Machiya) and storehouses (Dozo) remain. Although the area is not so wide, it retains a distinctive character along with its black tiled roofs, stucco architecture, and continuous stone walls. While the traditional houses are over 120 years old, some people can feel the "nostalgia" emitting from them. Some people may also feel the "freshness" resulting from renovations. When looking down at the floor, the natural solid wood has a dazzling color, and when looking up at the ceiling, the black pillars and ceiling beams characteristic of old buildings exude their presence. We want many people to experience this mysterious space where the "old" and the "new" coexist.
