Our wonderful home is very unique in many ways. The original home was built in 1870 and is situated on Pine Hill Homestead, one of the original homesteads of Bloomington. From the 1960s it was renovated by then owner and architect, C.Eugene Asbury. Since the renovation, our home has remained his vision and allows you to take a step back in time for what life was like in the 50s and 60s with furniture and lighting from that timeless era. We are happy to host short and long term visitors.

Le logement
Our spacious homestead is walking distance to Bloomington High School, Bloomington Country Club and Towanda Plaza. We are a 10-minute walk to the Constitution Trail, making it a lovely long walk or short bike ride to Downtown Bloomington or Uptown Normal. We have 2 bikes available for your use. We are a five-minute drive to ISU, IWU, State Farm, Country Financial and Growmark.

Our home has four bedrooms, two with queen mattresses, one with a twin bed, and the other with a twin (toddler) bed and a crib. The house has two full bathrooms, one with a shower, the upstairs’ one with a bathtub. The downstairs master bedroom is outfitted with the mid-century modern design principles that C. Eugene Asbury used throughout the ground floor. The three bedrooms upstairs are simple, basic 1870s farmhouse style mixed with mid-century modern furnishings, but each room is decorated according to our favorite travel destinations. The Bali room represents our love of Indonesian history and batik, a textile the UN recognizes as one of the world's important cultural traditions. Let us share with you our favorites from the 'Island of the Gods'. The Korea room houses our handmade Korean masks, cherry blossom prints, historical highlights, and even Korean children's stories. What better way to blend our love of Japan and our son's fascination with cars than pay tribute to the legendary, and ultimate in Japanese cartoons, Speed Racer.

Où se situe le logement

Bloomington, Illinois, États-Unis

This house was the first establishment of the area back in 1870, so it comes with a lot of history and a lot of land for a house in the city, and our backyard is one of the most serene places in the area!
We are within a 10-minute walk to the Constitution Trail, an easy access point to Downtown Bloomington and Uptown Normal. If you like craft beer, be sure to stop off at Keg Grove Brewery, right at the Constitution Trail access point.
Venturing the opposite direction, a matter of two minutes walking will put you at Towanda Plaza.
