With separate access so that you can come and go as you please, delight in your own cosy, private apartment in the historic coach house adjoining our Georgian house. Ideal for young families and close to Longleat House and Safari Park, Centre Parcs, Stonehenge, Georgian Bath and Salisbury.
Chatley House was built in 1794 and is a Grade 2 listed Georgian house on the outskirts of the historic town of Warminster. Our guests stay in the early 19th Century coach house apartment, which adjoins the main house but is self-contained (so no embarrassing queuing for the bathroom!) and has its own front door. With its ancient beams, the charming coach house has a double-bed, comfy sitting area, TV, dvd and wi-fi. Off the main room is an en-suite bathroom with shower, wc and hand basin. Providing for two additional guests is easy - via a connecting door we just link the coach house to a twin-bedded room in the main part of the house. The space is particularly well-suited to young families and we can help with a cot and high chair.
We provide a delicious breakfast with cereals, toast and marmalade, fruit, poached or boiled eggs, ground coffee and English teas. You can choose where you want to eat it: served by us in the main house, either in the delightful garden room, with its views over the attractive walled garden, (spring/summer/early autumn) or the dining room (winter) OR if you would rather we can put it in the coach house and you can do your own thing. It would be handy if you could let us know which you prefer in your pre-arrival contact with us.
We are situated on a road leading in and out of Warminster so naturally there is traffic. Few of our guests comment on this but if you are only used to the hum of bees and the whisper of wind in trees then you may notice it.
Accès des voyageurs
The open plan apartment is on the coach house's first floor and accessed by a staircase.
You have your own front door with a push button number lock so you can come and go as you please!
Roadside parking is always available in front of Chatley House. The coach house has no direct access to our garden but you are very welcome to use it if we are in.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
We look forward to meeting you on arrival, settling you into the coach house and answering any questions you may have. Once you are happy we will leave you be. We are very happy to advise on where to eat in the evenings and make bookings for you if you wish. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have during your stay - just call round, give us a ring or message us.
We always enjoy chatting with our guests at breakfast, but if you prefer to eat in peace then that's fine with us too!
If there are only two of you staying but you wish separate rooms (i.e. you are using the coach house and the twin-bedded room) we make a small additional charge of £10 to cover cleaning; this is payable when you are with us.
Please let us know in advance if you are vegetarian/vegan or sensitive to allergens e.g. gluten or lactose intolerance.
Unless by prior arrangement check-in is not before 3.00 pm, and please check-out by 10.00 am promptly on the day of your departure so that we have time to prepare for our next guests. The coach house is no smoking and, as much as we love dogs, I'm afraid we don't take pets.
We have lived in our lovely house for 19 years and are delighted that you will be able to enjoy it too. Although I am now retired, I was a Great Ormond Street children's nurse and then a health visitor. My interests are tennis and golf, painting and sewing and am a keen cook. I enjoy walking our Border Terrier (Pickles) in the beautiful countryside around Warminster. Although Wiltshire is now our home, my husband John and I have lived in a number of countries - France, Australia, The Netherlands and Germany - and love travelling, and of course hosting our guests!
