This is a *SHORT-TERM RENTAL FRIENDLY* building! Stay here and feel at ease knowing you will be a welcome guest in the building. No sneaking around or needing to evade management or residents pretending to be someone's visiting "cousin" or "friend" ;)

The perfect marriage of old & new. Tons of historic charm in a recently renovated 1 of a kind boutique building. You'll be hard pressed to find a unit like this in DTLA. Over 1800 sqft of living space. Open loft feel with a proper private bedroom!

I hesitated to write this review because it won't really be a good one and had to think hard before writing it. There were a lot of issues with this listing. Firstly, as others before me have said, the check in requirements after payment are a bit odd. Tucked away at the very bot…

Marcus, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Although very lengthy, I will try and address the concerns you shared. Regarding ID, this is a requirement. We state this on the listing and Airbnb ultimately supported us when you made attempt to decline to fulfill the requirements of our house rules. This is due to our self-check-in process, which requires this be done remotely and provides you the convenience of checking in any time without needing to coordinate with the host. We would have been happy to discuss this with you, as we did with Airbnb, however, you spoke to them instead of reaching out to me -- which I understand lead to the delay you referenced. We do allow the upload of a driver's license or any government ID and do not require a passport specifically. You were provided with our privacy policy and the guidelines we follow, which I can assure you take one's privacy into consideration. All data is TLS 1.2/SSL encrypted and meets the requirements of PCI (DSS) Level I, HIPAA, and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation. Secondly, the area is not unsafe, nor do I see anything you included that would support this claim. I would welcome you to please reach out to me to help me understand what you experienced that would lead you to believe this as you've not referenced anything in your review that would give me the impression you had any such experience. I am a young female and lived in the area for years with absolutely no issue whatsoever. This area is a magnet for upscale retail and home to COS/H&M, Urban Outfitters, The Gap & Foot Action's Flagship store, and will soon be home to the Apple Store, which you can read about if you search online for DTLA Apple Store / Tower Theater. It's also just around the corner from Whole Foods and a number of LA's top restaurants and nightlife. Regarding MedMen, this is a very high-end retailer and not your typical "dispensary." No smoking (or vaping) or consumption of any kind takes places on the premises and we've not received any complaints whatsoever about this affecting our guest's stays. Again, it appears you made attempt to shorten your stay and were unable to provide any documentation to Airbnb to support any of the claims made during your stay. Per Airbnb, we as hosts, work with Airbnb to remedy any issues that meet certain criteria where documentation is required, which was no different in your case. Regarding the parking lot, it is staffed 24/7 and does have security cameras and secure access. Again, it doesn't appear that you've cited any specific instances but rather made a general claim about it being, in your opinion a "security hazard." You do not have to walk down a ramp as there is an elevator, which is clearly defined in our instructions. I've parked in that garage for over a decade and had zero issues with my car (a late model Porsche Cayenne) or my personal safety. I applaud efforts to transform downtown LA into a vibrant community and this unit seems part of that urban movement. An area of the city that used to be derelict now has cafes and nightclubs. It reminds me a bit of my home city of San Francisco's SOMA neighborhood. But not the …

Great urban dwelling. Just as described. Alex was attentive to any questions we had. She also provided suggestions to nearby restaurants etc.

This is a spacious and nicely decorated apartment. A very good value compared to other Airbnb options based on what my colleagues who stayed elsewhere said. Communication was fast and easy. I would happily stay there again.
