This is our family cottage on the water's edge with private sandy beach on crystal clear Newfound Lake in Hebron NH, on the west shore so you can see the sunrise and the glow of sunset on the mountains across the lake.

Le logement

This is a vintage cottage but it has everything for a great family vacation and like visiting "Grandma's Beach House". It is rustic and campy in a private setting with 100' of frontage on Newfound Lake. Private beach and sitting area with a deck and an excellent location for fishing, canoeing, kayaking. There are two quality sea kayaks, life jackets, paddles, a canoe, sand chairs, beach chaise lounges, inflatable tubes/toys and inflatable boat all available. The crystal clear water provides a excellent swimming with a waterfront deck that overlooks a private sandy beach and swim area. An excellent place for small children with a gradual slope on the beach and a much protected cove. There is large picnic table and gas grill overlooking deck and beach for outdoor dining. There is both a screened in porch as well as a lakeside deck that both offer great views of the lake while sipping your morning coffee or evening cocktail. There is wireless internet and cable TV. In the evening, light the tiki torches and sit deck side with cocktails, enjoy a bonfire lakeside, make smores and listen to the loons. The calling of the loons is a beautiful sound in the evenings. A private lakeside on Newfound Lake is a vintage vacation few get to experience. The Lake views, the mountain views, the private sandy beach, the evening campfires, moon beams across the lake and the ducks and loons swimming by, the outdoor living just does not get any better than this.

This is not a typical rental but a private owned vintage cottage that I grew up in and a very special lakeside experience with your own private beach, your own private waterfront deck, your own lakeside fire pit, your own lakeside picnic table and NO association or condo sharing and NO road between the cottage and the lake. Back in Time lodging with wireless technology: This is a vintage 'cottage' and certainly could use a lot work, but it has everything for a great family vacation. It is a rustic summer camp in a private setting with 100’ of frontage on Newfound Lake much the same as it was 65 years ago except for the technology. It is a beautiful place to be on a warm summer day but also a great getaway in the off season with very quiet kayak paddles and warm evening campfires by the lake. This is a seasonal cottage and there is no central heating but there is a small Vermont casting woodstove to warm up on fall and spring nights. You should come prepared with warm clothes any time of year but especially in the off season as the house is not heated.

If interested, please message the following information: amount of overnight AND day guests, description of any pets, dates interested and how flexible you are on dates. There is no cleaning fee but there is a security deposit fully refundable if the cottage is left as you found it. Pets are welcome with prior approval and a pet fee per pet per stay. Rates vary by season, mid week, weekend and number of guests. Base rate is for up to four people with additional guest charge of $25 per person per night

•One Bedroom with full size bed (second floor)
•One Bunk room with bunk beds to sleep 6 (second floor) 4 single twin buns and one full size double - one middle bunk only suitable for child
•1/2 Bath on second floor. No inside shower - Outside hot shower
•Sleeper sofa on first floor

•The Check in and out can be flexible in most cases and can be discussed. In general Check In time is after 4 Pm and Check Out time is 10 AM.

•It is not set up like a typical rental. It has been in the family for a long time. Therefore it is filled with non-valuable personal items and food items in kitchen and refrigerator. You are welcome to use the cabin like you are family and the food items such as spices, flour, sugar, and condiments.

• Limited towels and bedding is there but there is no washer or dryer options except a laundromat in Bristol (8 miles). I will do laundry upon your departure. If you use a lot of towels and pillows, you may want to bring your own. You must bring your own beach towels.

•Pets that are friendly and well behaved are welcome with prior approval. Some breeds are not accepted for insurance purposes. They must have flea bath three days before arrival and there is an additional per pet per stay fee.

•An enclosed hot water shower is located outside and there is no shower inside.

•The beach area varies over the summer according to weather and lake level. Traditionally it is least amount of beach in early summer but this will vary according to weather factors.

•Please be honest on the amount of people that will be overnight and include all day guests. In general the max I will accept is six but I am willing to work with your needs. Security deposits will not be returned if more people are on property then stated without prior approval. It is an old septic system and we ask you to be honest and no large gatherings or parties will be allowed.

We had a great time at Eileen's place! The cottage itself was exactly as described in the listing, but the outdoor space was WAY better than we imagined. Eileen's waterfront is amazing!

This is a gorgeous property on a gorgeous lake. Possibly the finest piece of property on the lake. The lakeside seating is spectacular. Eileen really looked out for us, making sure that we had everything that we needed. The description of the cottage is clear and accurate. We loved our stay!

Eileen did a great job communicating and answering all of our questions. Her cottage is, like she mentions, very rustic but with lots of amenities. The cottage was perfect for our family and the location was amazing. We loved the three days we stayed at the cottage and plan to return next year.

So quaint and perfectly primitive. Eileen was very easy to communicate with and set our expectations accordingly. But it was so much better than I even expected. Our view every morning, noon and evening was breathtaking and peacful. We were lucky enough to have a full moon looking over the lake straight out the back windows each night. Outside, there were many seating areas to enjoy, as well as a fire pit and bbq area. We hope to book again next summer to fully enjoy the lake and sweet screened-in porch.

Wow--I don't know where to start. Eileen was great at communicating with us and making sure that her cottage would be the right place for us before accepting our request. It is a camp that has been in her family since the 1950's with a fifties style kitchen, a woodstove for heat, and an outdoor shower--just like I had when I was a kid. We LOVED it. It is right on the water and has everything you could possibly want or need thoughtfully placed for you to find it. The cottage was neat as a pin when we arrived with plenty of bedding, towels, cooking supplies and firewood. We brought our own but didn't need to. We loved coffee on the deck two feet from the water with a little fire in the fire pit to take the October morning chill off. We kayaked around the lake, taking in the wonderful views and getting acquainted with the loons. We paddled the canoe out at night to see the stars from the water. We cooked up a storm and ate next to the fire. We also enjoyed watching the Cubbies beat St. Louis (sorry Cardinals fans) and some movies on the large screen tv and Rick had not trouble checking in with his students via wireless. We climbed Mt. Cardigan one day--beautiful views. We also drove around the Whites and walked in to Zealand Falls. Wonderful. Thanks to Eileen for sharing her little bit of paradise.
