I wish I had known about some of these issues at the time -- I could have turned the heat up higher again, but my guests didn't say it was needed. There were several extra sets of sheets for the futon, in the open bedroom closet -- in fact, they appeared to have been taken out, so I'm not sure if the complaint is that I didn't make the futon up, perhaps (I figure people would prefer to sit, first). As to linens, towels, there wasn't a single dirty one down there -- they'd all been washed a day or two before. I'd be surprised if my guests didn't find the extra bathroom supplies in the open bathroom closet, but it's possible -- so I've restocked and I make instructions to guests more clear. I also think about $80 a night isn't a bad price in the nation's capital, given that many full apartments in the neighborhood are well over $100 a night. It seems to me that several of these concerns could have been met with a call or message to me, as I live in the house and can pop down quickly to supply things or address problems -- but these guests decided to knock me for it without asking for help. In any case, the review and my confidence that kinder folks are coming have spurred me to put $3,000 to $4,000 in improvements in over the next few months, beginning with new wall heaters last week, new washer and dryer arriving next week, and carpeting and other changes next.
