Feitong is very gracious and respectable. The location is perfect if you need to go to Johns Hopkins University. I will stay again when I visit Baltimore

I have had very wonderful experiences in staying at multiple airbnb homes previously, but my stay at Feitong's place was really very disappointing. While working in Baltimore for a month, I had the chance to stay at Fahtong’s for an extended stay. Despite little communication wi…

I want to add to Nicole that her stay was not a successful experience for both of us. This is one of the most frustrating experience for me as a host and I see a mismatch between our expectations. Several comments from my side for future guests as reference: I recommend my guests read my house rule again if they are not sure. I was sad when I need to remind Nicole about house rules several times because I expect my guests agree with my house rules and respect the rules during their stay. They left dishes and cookware dirty in the sink, sometimes for more than two days. I have to clean for them if I want to cook. They rearrange the stuff in bedroom and didn’t put it back when they leave, so I have to search for a while when I prepare the room for the next guest. They were loud at night, sometimes screaming, which even disturbed my neighbors. And they turn on AC cooling whole nights during their stay, in this late Fall. So I was confused about whether they felt the room was too warm or too cold for them. See details below: 1. While the kitchen is shared by us, Nicole’s group filled their stuff in the whole fridge and also places several cooking equipments and seasonings on the table, and I barely see my stuff. She painstakingly mailed a box a rice to my place from New Jersey and unfortunately the box was leaking and rice is scattering around in the living room. I understand Nicole wanted to have a good life during her stay but this is my first time feeling being invaded because they didn’t tell me they were bringing their own kitchen. 2. Whereas they are complaining about the room is freezing, they turn on the air-conditioning in the room during their stay every day. When they asked for extra blankets, I provided to them and suggest they turn off the AC, but they kept turning AC on every day. So I was confused whether they need heating or cooling. 3. About noise. I certainly do not expect my guest coming back at 2:00 AM and scream. All my previous guests were respectful and kept quiet at night or early in the morning. I never needed to remind my guest to be quiet and I was really sad when I need to remind Nicole several times. When I need to remind her for a second time after a first reminder, I felt I was not expected as a host. 4. About the bug problem, I do apologize for this inconvenience during Nicole’s stay. This is a rare situation for me as well, because it has never happened before. It certainly won’t happen in the future. 5. I expect my guest and I will respect each other mutually. While Nicole was complaining about privacy, I never invade their private space. In contrast, my privacy as a host was not respected. That’s why I felt invaded. 6. I found it was frustrating during my communication with Nicole. I asked what they need so I can help. I also apologized about the bug problem during they stay and asked how can I help. She was not willing to communicate. When they asked, I quickly responded, and tried my best to provide convenience. In sum, I think Nicole’s stay was a real negative experience for me. I can not recommend her as a guest based on my own experience, certainly not for longer than a week. They may find a better match in their future trips. I think the reason is an unmatched expectation. For future guests, if you have concern, before you book, please write to me first to check with me. I hope my guests can enjoy their stay at my place and I also hope I can enjoy hosting my guests during their stay. My reason for hosting at AirBnB is have a mutually enjoyable experience between me and my guests and I can meet new friends when I host. I hope my future guests share this idea with me. I also wish Nicole’s future experience is better.
