My host changed the reservation listing from an 11am check in to 3pm checkin, the morning of my stay. The check out time changed from 2pm to 11am. This was a mistake on their end, however they did not honor the original agreement and we couldn't check in until 3:35pm. The extra 35 mins is the time it took for my host's assistant to meet and greet us. It was a HUGE inconvenience as we had been traveling from NY since 4am.
The hotel was what BEAUTIFUL. I will not take that away, but we were only given 3 towels for our stay. It was a total of 3 women. No wash cloths, or towel to lay on the floor as we exited the shower. Because of this, I tried communicating with the assistant for additional towels, washcloths (as he was the person who had been communicating with me since we received the keys). Unfortunately I wasn't able to reach him until 6 hours later, due to his "phone dying". That is unacceptable when you are a host. Nevertheless, we finally communicated, but towels still weren't available for us until after 1:00am. The towels were left on the floor infront of the room door, despite me requesting him to knock and hand the towels directly to me. This was a big deal, b/c there was a leak coming from the boiler room and it was seeping into the hallway, and was also leaving a huge puddle in our bathroom. I asked the assistant to return, via telephone, however I was then cursed out and called a "F*cking princess" bc it was 1:00am in the morning. The assistant and his boss, came to my room, knocked VERY AGGRESSIVELY, and proceeded to insult and use profanity towards me and my friends, while his hands were in my face, still calling me a "F*cking princess". We are 3 women, who didn't deserve to feel threatened like that. One of my friends spoke French so she tried communicating with him to tell him about the leak, towel issues, and dirty sheets that we had communicated to the assistant. He then realized we just wanted BASIC service and tried to apologize.
On our final day, we checked out a little before noon. Texted the assistant to ask for a partial refund on the parking, per the agreement made, and he finally met us, after arguing about not wanting to come out of pocket since that was a convo between his boss and us.
In the end, the hotel was beautiful, but I will not be staying with this host again, due to me feeling threatened, reservation changing, lack of communication and major hostility towards my friends and I.
I also have proof of all of the above, as I wanted to be as honest as possible, for the next guest.
