  • Very accommodating, easy to communicate with, and exactly what we were looking for. Unit was clean, wonderfully close to a great beach, and exactly as described. Lots of helpful info provided ahead of time made everything about our stay from the logistics to the fun super easy. We'll be back!

  • It was super easy to plan a last second stay here! The place was great for my solo trip to a low key beach during the off season. A grocery store, restaurants, and the aquarium are all a short drive away. The place was clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy but who cares when you have a gorgeous beach right outside your door?!? I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a great spot to get away from it all and wants to simply relax!

  • We have a family of 4. Me, my husband, a 6 yr old and a 5 month old. The place was great but too tight for our family when you factor in a pack n play. It was doable but pretty cramped. Loved the proximity to the beach. So convienent. The bed was comfortable, pull out couch was not. Overall a great little getaway for us. Nice little community.

    Andrea2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nice simple accommodations for a quick break get away right by the beach

    Katherine2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Ed was phenomenally patient with my group of four and all of the questions we had before, during, and after the listing. You are welcomed with a very robust welcome package allowing you to really enjoy local experiences without losing track of why you came to visit in the first place, to have fun, relax, and reduce stress. The listing is quite accurate to room size and comfortablility. Kitchen was quite usable with its various utensils and appliances (including microwave, toaster, and blender). Beach is only a very short walk away and the private access really allows you to feel safe. I can't wait to visit again in the future!

    Chris2016-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here! It's an adorable place in a gorgeous location. The room is exactly as pictured and provided everything we needed. Edward was quick to answer our questions and has a very helpful welcome guide for you.

  • Very small, would be fine for 2 people. Owner was very accomadating. Not a lot of place to store anything.

    Hannah2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot for a weekend beach get-away or a romantic beach trip. The location is right on the water with a beautiful view. The listing is as advertized.

  • We had such a lovely time in this cottage. It was so charming, welcoming, and comfortable. We loved being able to walk and bike the historic district with such ease, and the town do Beaufort is awesome. We were grateful for David and Elizabeth's hospitality and professionalism as hosts! We want to come back next year!

    George2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. What a great spot in a great location to visit. David and Elizabeth’s house is a short walk to everything in Beaufort. It was clean and neat, and everything was well labeled and easy to manage. They checked in with us to see if there was anything that we needed after our arrival and were quick to respond when I had a question. There were bikes and games available, and a great outside area with some awesome swings. The only problem that we had was getting ourselves motivated to leave!

    Scott2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem in an already amazing town of Beaufort!! We highly recommend it to anyone. David and Elizabeth are great hosts! The house is exactly as pictured and so wonderful!! We would definitely stay again!

  • Great location - 5 mins (walking) to Beaufort waterfront with great restaurants! The place is clean with very comfortable beds. The house is decorated with great love! We enjoyed our staying there.

  • Beautiful home in a great location in Beaufort NC. They did a great job doing the house up and made it very charming. Will definitely stay there again.

    Dominic2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • David and Elizabeth’s place was beautiful and had pretty much everything we could have wanted. We especially enjoyed the bikes which made getting around town easy. David and Elizabeth were friendly and easy to get in touch with and they made us feel welcome in their home, even though we never met them in person.

    Daniel2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely comfortable and newly renovated Beaufort gem! Really great rooms and kitchen with all you could need to create a wonderful stay plus we did not get to the bikes and yard yet! Even the dog approves!

Beautifully furnished apartment located in historic Beaufort. Spacious deck overlooking tranquil garden and 200+ year live oak tree with view of Taylor’s Creek. One half block to water and 2.5 blocks to shopping and docks. Complementary bikes, grill and kayaks.
Perfect for two adults. Master bedroom with king sized bed, full kitchen; washer and dryer; extensive gardens, parking, and an outdoor shower! This home is non-discriminatory.
Although apartment is new and modern, our home was built circa 1778. There are over one hundred historic, plaqued homes in the neighborhood. We are located a half block from Front Street, and two blocks from the town docks. Guests arriving by boat are welcome. Launch your kayak to Carrot Island Nature Preserve from the end of our street, or take a ten minute ferry to Shackelford Banks - one of the most pristine beaches on the east coast. Enjoy morning walks along the docks and through the old graveyard and sunset bike rides by the water. Excellent restaurants and bars are within 2-4 blocks. Beaufort was voted the coolest small town in America and this is the best place to stay in Beaufort!
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Charles & Deborah's garage apartment. The apartment was in the historic district, private, near the water, and close to the downtown area. The apartment was clean, the king-size bed was comfortable, the linens and towels seemed brand new, and the garden was absolutely beautiful. There was a continental breakfast for the 1st morning and a huge variety of snacks available. Charles and Deborah had a wonderful write-up about Beaufort which described the many activities and restaurants available. We were lucky to be able stay there and hope to return.

    Joan2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location in town is fabulous, we love the beautiful garden with an amazing tree and landscaping to look at while sitting on the back deck. Everything you need is in the apartment and it is beautifully furnished. There wasn't a thing we could think of or need that they hadn't already thought of! Charles and Deborah are wonderful and we enjoy visiting with them. This was our second time to visit we enjoy the place so much! Kayaks and bikes are a bonus.

    Lisa2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was our favorite Airbnb stay thus far. The apartment was perfect for our needs. It was clean, quiet, comfortable, and within walking distance of the waterfront, restaurants, and shops. Deborah was the most gracious hostess. She was readily accessible with information about the area, and she helped us get situated with the kayaks that came with the rental. In addition, there were tasty snacks and beverages stocked in the apartment. It felt like we were visiting with longtime friends, instead of a rental unit. We can't wait to stay here again soon!

    Christina2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Charles and Deborah were fantastic hosts and the apartment was even better than described. The location is perfect for walking downtown and to access the ferries. Everything you could possibly need is provided and they can give some really helpful advice if you're new to Beaufort. Really a great experience.

    Josh2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah and Charles were great hosts, offering helpful suggestions about the beaches, ferries, and restaurants. The apartment was perfect for our three-night stay. They thought of everything you might need (beach towels, chairs, toiletries, snacks, bikes) so you don't have to think--just relax. I would highly recommend this apartment for location, price, design, and the kindness shown by the hosts.

    shannon2016-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is just charming! Perfect location within walking distance to historic Beaufort. Charles and Deborah included everything we needed for a terrific weekend.

    Helen2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Charles and Deborah were incredibly accommodating hosts. They shared their bikes and kayaks with us to explore Beaufort and the surrounding waterfront, as well as tips on all the sites to visit in town. The apartment has a fully furnished kitchen we took full advantage of. They provide plenty of free snacks and breakfast items for those less inclined to cook. We had an absolutely wonderful stay.

    Peter2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Charles and Deborah, and their abode, were over the top. We felt so welcomed and blessed by their hospitality. Their description, although on point, couldn't capture the feeling you get when you enter their apartment. What a treasure! They made sure we had everything we needed, and even delivered cheddar biscuits from their trip to the farmer's market. This was our first airbnb and Deborah and Charles set the bar of so high for other hosts!

Our 2-story Bahamian style house was built in 1998 and designed to fit in with other houses in the historic district. The apartment is over the attached garage behind the main house. Studio apt with 1 full bathroom.
We are in the heart of the historic district, with most of the houses dating from the 18th to 19th centuries. The quiet neighborhood is bordered on the south by Front Street, which faces Carrot Island and Beaufort Harbor. Front Street is lined with docks, restaurants, pubs, and shops, and has a beautiful boardwalk. A public access floating dock is available for launching kayaks and canoes, which can be rented locally.
  • Perfect location - can walk to everything!

  • We had a wonderful time in Beaufort and the room was perfect: comfortable, restful and a great location! Thanks!

  • Upon arrival, there were chilled water bottles ready for us in the refrigerator. The location of the studio apartment was centrally located to Front Street in Beaufort, affording us walking distance to grab breakfast each morning. As Front Street is the "main" street, the location of this apartment was wonderful! The studio apartment is located just a couple of steps into a side street. Great location! The apartment was as described, clean, and comfortable!!!

  • Great place close to the restaurants and shops. Beautiful home.

    Clark2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great room for a quiet and peaceful stay. Actually dined in as opposed to the Front St. scene which we believe is the biggest compliment. Definite recommend with all the amenities needed. Job well done in renovating this room for rent. If arriving at night don't screw u the directions like we did...the us a front gate and arrows /lights on the path leading to the room.

    Denise2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, clean and convenient. The studio is nicely furnished and our hosts had a nice selection of refreshments to welcome us. The private entrance is great as we could come and go without disturbing our hosts. Would definitely recommend this spot. Perfect for 2 people.

    Judy2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at this wonderful guest apartment. The location could not be better - easy walk to great restaurants and the Beaufort waterfront. Our hosts were delightful! And the apartment was perfect - beautiful antiques, lots of guides to the town, a refridgerator stocked with water (and beer), Keurig coffee maker and ample towels and toiletries. We will definitely be back!

  • Michele was a great host and the apartment was the perfect place to crash after a long day. Michele surprised us with some welcome sparkling cider and was easily available for any questions or recommendations! The apartment has great kitchenette, tv, comfy bed- a great place to crash after a long day. The view is beautiful and there is a great gazebo available for watching the sunset and sitting.

    Waylin2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Michele's place is serene, beautiful and inspiring. Great water view, upscale feel and very functional. The family stays out of your business but is there if you need them. Afte a 17 hour drive it was a perfect place to recharge. Highly recommend!

  • Michele and her Captain's Quarters were great! Clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. We were welcomed with roses and champaigne for our anniversary. A wonderful stay, would stay again and highly recommend this airbnb!

    Cindy2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great and the bed was very comfortable. The room was also clean and the location was very nice as well. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't need much space (one note for anyone 6' or taller the height of the shower is quite low). That being said everything was clean and very well organized.

    Mason & Summer2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle met us and gave us a tour of the apartment when we arrived. She was very friendly and helpful and the apartment was just as listed. We loved it! Even though our October stay was short, we were at the perfect spot to gaze out across the water from our apartment, walk down the road a bit to see the tidal bridge / wildlife area, easily bike into town and along Front / Ann Streets, take a day trip to nearby Fort Macon and enjoy a peaceful "Evening at the Cape" sunset ferry ride and climb of Cape Lookout Lighthouse. The full moon and exploring the island with flashlights and a small picnic was incredible! We loved waterfront dining at both "Spouter" and "Queen Anne's Revenge," and had a great self-guided bike tour of town using the maps from the Visitor Center. We highly recommend Michele's place as a great, relaxing home base in Beaufort!

    Angela2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Michele was an absolute GEM! I was traveling with work and decided to stay the weekend to get a jump start on Monday. I contacted her asking if I could stay on such short notice. She replied immediately welcoming me. I was thankful because of the short notice and location to relax over a stressful week of work. By the time I arrived it was dark and she welcomed me with a tall glass of red wine and suggested places to dine in town. She is a wealth of knowledge for the surrounding cities and things to do while I was there. The grounds are stunning and many great memories will be remembered in the relaxing gazebo, backyard bird watching, and nesting osprey's in the distance. The room is exactly as listed if not better! Super comfortable bed, comfortable couch and recliner to relax. The kitchen space has plenty of room and the bathroom is clean and cozy. The overall experience was much needed and I will be back again(URL HIDDEN)

Private comfortable suite one mile east of Downtown Beaufort with fridge, microwave & coffee, private bath, small screened porch, and deck areas. The location is very convenient to downtown; a short, scenic walk along Front Street. Perfect for people wanting their own space and privacy to enjoy while visiting Beaufort. Please note that two large but friendly dogs share the house-not your room-but pet allergy alert anyway. Also note that the path to your room is not paved (it has paving stones)
Winter Rates in Effect. Check it out! The room has a comfortable queen size bed, private bath with a large tub, and a private entrance through a small screened porch. It is a good deal larger than it appears in the photos. A small cot/floor mattress is available for a child or third guest (may be more comfortable for a child) with advanced notice (the extra person fee does not apply to children) The screened porch has comfortable seating and is a great place for wet sandy things, fishing gear etc. or just relaxing with a book. The back yard is usually very peaceful, although you will see Scooby and Ollie (my dogs) on occasion. Ollie loves tennis balls and if you care to indulge him he will love you forever. The room has a microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker. I usually stock waters, half&half, coffee condiments, and a few snacks for my guests, but the fridge will hold plenty of food if you want to shop in a nearby grocery store or bring food from home. There are real plates and utensils as well as disposable ones (dish washing supplies on a shelf in the bathroom and dish drain in the closet) There is WiFi and a Roku TV (no local channels but many streaming channels (Netflix, hulu, amazon, PBS, CBS all access already loaded). Extra seating and tray tables are provided as well as yoga mats, beach towels, mats etc. Most of these items are also in the closet. (Please don't put them back sandy. Leaving beach type stuff on the porch or deck when you leave is fine) The rest of the house is fairly small and we have fairly active lives. However, guests report that they never hear us and we have never heard them. The dogs may bark a little now and then, but in general they are quiet too. They are friendly but love to run out of the gate and go for dog adventures whenever possible so keeping the gate closed (and latched with the hook) is important. You may park in the driveway, although you must be careful of overhanging magnolia branches if you have an extra tall vehicle or bikes etc on top. There is a path through the gate at the end of the driveway to the porch that leads to your room. There are also deck areas that you may use. Please no smoking except outside on the deck. My contact information is listed inside the room along with the internet access codes.
The proximity to downtown Beaufort is what makes this space special. Downtown is about a mile away--a very nice walk. This is where the ferries to Cape Lookout or more local spots across the water are available year round. In general the neighborhood is pretty quiet, especially at night. Visiting in the winter is not only cheaper but is breathtakingly beautiful with vibrant sunsets nearly every night. Temperatures are generally milder here at the coast making beach walks at Atlantic Beach (a short drive) quite pleasant.
  • Dawn is a great host--welcoming and attentive to her guests. Her place is very comfortable--bigger than it appears in pictures--and quite private. You have your own screened-in "sitting" porch plus more space outside in her back yard that's around the corner from where Dawn and her family would be if outside. It's in a great neighborhood for strolling around looking at houses and the water, and it's also just a short walk to downtown. We'd happily stay there again.

    John2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • I give 5 starts when the property meets or exceeds my expectations based on description and review. The latter is true - this place is a gem! Adorable screened-in porch with seating. Inside, the studio has ample room with a chair, several ottomans, a large desk with two stools. I visited alone, but a couple would have plenty of room with a small closet, dresser and two cabinets. The refrigerator also has a freezer. When I arrived from the west coast I was grateful to find several cold water bottles and other juice bottles, and snacks. The en-suite bathroom is quite roomy and has toiletries and a soaker tub. The bed was very comfortable. There are a few breakfast-in-bed tables and trays. The pics do not do this suite justice. I ran along the waterfront and ate at great restaurants on the water. It's a quick drive to Atlantic Beach with wide, sandy beaches and warm water. Dawn was easy to work with to check-in and out, and checked-in by text to see if I needed anything; great gal. Would come back!

    Nancy2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The private entrance private room is as described. The bed was super comfy and little coffee maker just what you need for an eye opener. Dawn was easy to communicate with and there were no issues. A water view is just around the corner of the house!

    Manda2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend Dawn's home as a place for a quiet retreat, a chance to be near the ocean and yet away from tourist sites...just enjoying the serenity. The room is a fair sized, the bed good, bathroom surprisingly large, private entrance....and Dawn is most pleasant.

My decor is whimsey, local art and from the Caribbean. You can see the sailboats in Taylor's Creek and the Ponies on Carrot Island from the porch, our main attractions! You don't have to drive anywhere, because you're already here. The ferries to Shackleford Banks, Cape Lookout and Carrot Island are across the street. All the bars and restaurants as well as the North Carolina Maritime Museum is within 4 blocks. You do have to go up stairs. Parking is limited to one car.
There is a queen bed in the bedroom, and a single bed off of the living area, that is low to the ground for a kid or an adult. There is also a TV in the area for DVD's, another big TV in the living room with local channels. There's a bike rack in the front yard, if you have bikes to lock up to. If you have kayaks, they can be put in the back yard. The launch for kayaks is across the street to the left. Enjoy being on the downtown waterfront, in a secluded spot!
This is a 200 year old home, was built in the late 1800's. This is truly a unique place. Provides privacy and seclusion while still being on the Beaufort waterfront. There is an occasional horn blown from the local boats, which reminds you that you're not far from the water.
  • Perfect weekend getaway! It was me and my fiancé and we had a blast walking/biking around Beaufort. The boat tours were directly across the street. We didn't move our car once all weekend-perfect location. :) I would definitely recommend.

  • This is the cutest little “secret spot” and we can’t wait to go back! So close to shops, food, bars, and you can see the water from the front porch. For the price, this is a steal!!! Joni was the best! I knew if I needed anything she would be able to help. The house was spotless and the bed was super comfortable.

    Miranda2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great find! I needed a place to get away for a few days, and this was perfect! Located closely to all the great Beaufort attractions and restaurants, but secluded enough to get plenty of privacy and relaxation. And you can see the water, which makes it even more peaceful. I was never bothered once by host, she respected privacy and provided an incredible spot to stay!

  • Secret Spot is the perfect location from which to explore Beaufort. It's a short walk to a number of bars, restaurants, cute shops, and historic sites. Joni is a terrific hostess and a very interesting person! The apartment is spacious and comfortable. There's a great view of the water from the balcony. I highly recommend staying here when in Beaufort.

My neighborhood is quiet & convenient. Very safe but easy to get places. There is a neighborhood pool for use in the summer. Plenty of room in the cul de sac to park a boat.
  • My husband and I stayed at Jane's very lovely home in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Jane was friendly and helpful. Her two kitties were also very sweet and friendly. Her home reflects her love of travel and various collections. We spent time talking about our shared interest in museums, and she introduced me to the work of glass artist, Dale Chihuly. This was our first airbnb experience, and we will definitely do this again!

  • The bedroom and home were comfortable and beautifully decorated with nice extra touches like bedside flowers and coffee in the morning. Jane was a great hostess and her cat Winnie was very friendly. We would definately stay there again.

  • A Gracious Host: Jane is very knowledgeable and can provide great tips and guidance on the area when asked, but will also respect your downtime. She suggested the Beaufort Cafe for breakfast -- tasty and convenient. Her home is located a short drive (less than 10 minutes) from downtown Beaufort. A cozy room with a friendly host.

  • Jane was there to greet us when we arrived. Check in was easy, and she provided many good recommendations on things to do. The room is cozy, and the bed is very comfortable. Plus there is an adorable cat! Really felt like home away from home. And the internet did work very well - we watched some Netflix on our laptop. We hope to be back. Thank you!

  • Jane was an excellent hostess! Her home provided a quiet and comfortable space for me and my little boy to relax in after a day full of activities! The house is conveniently located to Front Street as well as some beautiful beaches! Jane was super knowledgeable about Beaufort and provided great suggestions for things to do around town!

  • I found Jane's home in a quiet residential neighborhood to be a near-perfect location for exploring the Beaufort/Cape Lookout/Atlantic Beach area. It's less than five minutes to the Beaufort Historic District (and kayak rentals to the Rachel Carson Reserve), 20 minutes to the Harkers Island ferry to the Cape Lookout lighthouse, 20 minutes in the opposite direction to the Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores - seriously, it's a perfect base for wandering the area. Jane is very accomodating, easygoing and gracious, and provides feather pillows, an extremely comfortable bed, truly luxurious towels and a delightfully friendly cat Hilda who was more than happy to play and sleep with me. All that and coffee in the morning to send you on your way. Jane was completely understanding of my desire for local adventure but when we did sit down to talk on the 2nd evening I found her to be delightful, unpretentious and very fun to talk with. She does rent out multiple rooms so you may have to share a bathroom but this was never an issue during my stay and the other person I met was charming. An excellent host I'd be happy to stay with again. Don't forget to ask about the solar tube lighting in the bathroom!

    Todd2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house in a quiet town. Perfect for a weekend break on the water. Jane is a lovely, helpful person with incredibly friendly cats that will want you to pet them all the time! The house is a short drive to the main street in Beaufort and all the lovely little nearby islands. Morehead City and Atlantic Beach are all close by. Jane gives great recommendations!

    Nell2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time staying at airbnb and Jane made us feel so welcome! The Queen bed room was comfortable and cozy with privacy. Definitely recommend!

It is an adorable, quiet, pristine bungalow in a prime location with bicycles provided to explore the town.....big trees, beautiful homes, sidewalks, white picket fences, friendly neighbors, gorgeous waterfront, exquisite restaurants, live music and cool little shops. Hope Town Bungalow has a very comfy bed, soft linens and towels, fresh flowers and fruit, complimentary snacks, numerous toiletries, fenced in yard/garden....birds and butterflies! This is a magical place....and I can not wait to return! :)

  • What a great place to stay for a getaway! We were there to celebrate our anniversary. The location was walking distance to fun activities (the sunset cruise is a must!), delicious restaurants and shops. The bungalow was quaint and clean with thoughtful touches, like a stocked fridge and snacks. We had everything we needed. The coffee was delicious! Don and Tracey were very welcoming and answered every question we had. Our 4 legged babies loved playing with their dog, Finley. He's a sweetie! We would recommend the bungalow to anyone looking for a fun place to relax and get away!!

  • Don's place was very cozy and relaxing. He provided everything you could think of for our use if we needed/wanted it. He also offered great suggestions of things to do in Beaufort. He always made himself available but let us have our space too. This was a great stay and my husband and I HIGHLY recommend it!

  • Our visit to Hope Town Bungalow far exceeded our expectations. Don't get me wrong the pictures are amazing but they can't capture the attention to detail that you will experience. Don & Tracey were amazing hosts and recommended some activities for our stay. After we decided on activities they even scheduled them for us. You are just a short walk or bike ride from everything. We can't wait until our next stay!

  • Perfect spot to "do" Beaufort. This is a private bungalow detached from any other residence and it is specifically designed for guests. Lots of great touches and a neat garden area outside the door. Easy five minute walk to downtown Beaufort. Had dinner one night at Tracy's restaurant, The Front Street Grill. Outstanding and we had a table on the water on a beautiful night. Again, Hope Town is perfect for a couple doing a stay on the Crystal Coast.

This Beaufort NC property is in a residential neighborhood near the intracoastal waterway. It is located off highway 101 approximately 5 miles from historic Beaufort and a 20 minute drive to Cherry Point in Havelock. The space has a separate entrance in the lower level of our home and includes den, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms. We have a friendly hound dog who lives with us on the upper floor but because of his curious nature, we will not be able to host furry friends.
You will have privacy and a separate entrance to your living area. There is a kitchen area equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave and coffee maker. A quaint dining area adjoins the kitchen and den. One bath and two private bedrooms are included. We have high speed internet and Direct TV. The apartment is approximately 1000 square feet and is a short drive to the historic Beaufort waterfront where you will find a variety of great restaurants and shopping. Ferry out to one of the many southern outer bank islands for a taste of unspoiled beaches at their finest.
There is a boat ramp in the community and we have a boat slip if you would like to bring your boat and rent the slip on a daily basis for an extra $25/day. Boat trailers cannot be kept at the marina and would need to be stored at our house. We have a 19' Carolina Skiff that may be available for hire. Let us know if you are interested in going out to explore the water with an experienced captain.

Summer was a great resource for local historic information. The house is a short walk to everything. They have bikes too which we also used. It has everything you need in a truly beautiful setting.

This quaint cottage is located in the heart of downtown Beaufort NC. It is located on one of the few one way streets in town, making it a quiet refuge, but so close to everything there is to do in Beaufort. Stand in my yard, turn to the left and you will see The Beaufort Waterfront. Just head to the waterfront, turn right and follow the water... just a few blocks away you will find our local retail shops, restaurants, ferry services, parasailing, catamarans, museum, pubs and boardwalk.
Newly remodeled, (check out our pictures) this small 600 sq. ft. cozy cottage offers an intimate setting. It reflects the history of what was once a small fishing town and the homes of the fisherman from back in the day.... Simple design with original tongue and groove pine hard wood floors and ceilings, semi-enclosed back deck, It offers a charming atmosphere which is delightfully decorated and graciously stocked with chocolate... because as everyone knows, all great vacations begin with chocolate... Also, we like to pamper our guests with various complimentary surprises. You never know what you may be greeted with...Fruit infused spring water, fresh flowers, fresh baked cookies...something special will always be there to greet you. We offer basic cable or have some fun with our selection of free games, cards and puzzles...play chess or checkers on our hand painted board table top. Please note: the two bedrooms have privacy curtains rather than doors as was the tradition of the day...also these fisherman cottages were made to utilize all of the space so there are no hallways, you will walk through one bedroom to get to our huge bathroom.
    Quiet, friendly neighborhood

  • What a cozy, yet roomy, cottage! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay at Elizabeth's again when we come to beautiful Beaufort! The house was a short (and scenic) walk to the waterfront and to downtown shops.

  • If you are looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay, this is it. I thought Elizabeth’s description was quite accurate. You should come on down and enjoy Beaufort!!

  • We really enjoyed staying at the cottage. It's an easy walk to Beaufort's restaurants and the space is comfortable. Pluses were the full kitchen, comfy living room, and laundry. Elizabeth went out of her way to welcome us and told us many useful things about the area. One thing to note is the bedroom doors are curtains to improve airflow for comfort, which works well. But visitors who need strict privacy between rooms should keep it in mind. It didn't bother us at all because the space is very inviting and relaxing. It was nice to know that Elizabeth was just a phone call away and very responsive. All told a great time at the waterfront!

    rob2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay, very thoughtful host. Location is excellent, home was immaculate and charming. Great little cottage...best AirBnb experience we've had so far!

    Drew2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's place is cozy, welcoming, and perfectly located to explore downtown Beaufort by foot and make the quick drive to Atlantic Beach and environs! She was a thoughtful host who went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. The two bedrooms are both very comfortable and all four of us (plus the dog we are so grateful could come, and for an extremely reasonable fee!) slept very well. One note: the bathroom can only be accessed through one of the bedrooms; this wasn't a problem for us, but could be for some. Everything else (furnishings, comfort, location, hospitality) was incredible! Loved walking the block down to the waterfront and strolling down into town.

The cottage is nestled in Old Town Beaufort filled with quaint historical homes, churches, shops, waterfront, restaurants, bars, night life, museums and lovely gardens. Beaufort was voted the "coolest small town in America".
  • Jack and Camie are great hosts! Big greeted us when we first arrived and made themselves available to us if we had any questions or needed anything. The cottage is beautiful - the photos online don't do it justice! We felt very at home and loved that it's location was a little away from the busy downtown while still being only a couple blocks walk away. The only thing was that the cottage doesn't have a stove, but that was no problem really because there was a grill for our use that we cooked on every day, which was great! We would definitely come again :) P.s. For anyone looking for things to do in Beaufort on your visit, the Ghost Walk is a must! Our guide was really great and there's so much history in Beaufort; the stories are great to listen to!

The place has everything anyone could possibly need for a stay in lovely Beaufort. And the location is fantastic! Perfectly situated within walking distance of all the sights. The bed is comfortable. Jack also provides detailed instructions and information about the area, which is really helpful and was much appreciated. Dozens of restaurants and activities are all within walking distance. Shopping and museums are also steps away. The suite is cool and comfortable and includes a kitchenette.
  • Thanks Pete & Tami for hosting us this week. We enjoyed the close proximity to the best restaurants in town. The rooftop was a perfext way to end the day with a drink & sunset. The room was well laid out and just what we were looking for.

Sa maison est calme, confortable et son chat est adorable ;0) Jane was very generous to me in sharing not only his knowledge of Beaufort and surrounding areas, but on the south-eastern United States allowing me to plan the rest of my trip. His house is quiet, comfortable and his cat is adorable, 0

  • This was my 2nd stay in Jane's home and I felt like I was visiting family! Jane goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable and feel at home. She even sent me off with beautiful flowers from her garden! I have truly enjoyed my conversations with Jane and visits to Beaufort. I can't wait to return!

  • Jane was great. I stayed at her home during the music festival and enjoyed every moment. She made me feel very welcomed in her home and the room was very comfortable. Thanks again Jane and I'll definitely be back.

  • My room was just as described and depicted in the picture. Except in real life, I always had fresh flowers in my room!!!!! How sweet. I was very comfortable staying with Jane. I had a late start and arrival and Jane made sure I was safe along my travels and came out to greet me so kindly when I did finally get there. I had my own bathroom to use. Her home is very pretty and in a great neighborhood. I would definitely stay again and I may since I will be returning to the area in the near future. There was another couple that were there for just a short time also, I only met them once since I was out and about and soaking up the whole area. They were very nice to meet and chat with. I think a certain personality type does this type of thing, whether it be to rent to someone or from someone. PEOPLE PEOPLE. Anyone I met in Jane's home were super friendly and I had a great time. She made my first Airbnb a great experience and I look forward to staying with other people in my future travels. Oh yeah I LOVE her cat, even she was super friendly :) But like me, she was always out and about.

  • Jane was very welcoming from the start and her cats were curious and friendly. The room was exactly as pictured and the whole house had a very quaint English feel as described. The bed was very comfortable and I slept very easily throughout the night. The shower water was hot and the shower head was adjustable. There were even small toiletries provided. The home is located quite close to downtown Beaufort and Morehead City and I found it very easy to make my way around the area. The only thing I wish was a little different was that the wifi signal was stronger.

  • My mom stayed in this room and was very comfortable. Jane was an accommodating host and answered our questions about the area.

  • Had a family event in Moorehead City, NC. I wasn't looking to spend a lot on a hotel room, I just needed a place to sleep and clean up and Jane's place hit the mark. The room was exactly as described and the bed was extremely comfortable. Jane was a gracious and helpful host. She even put coffee on for me in the morning which was greatly appreciated. Her home was very welcoming and in a cute little neighborhood. I was also pleased that I could come and go as needed. I will definitely keep Jane's home as an option for future stays when I visit Morehead City, NC.

  • Jane is awesome!! The cutest home and great location. She let me borrow her bike since I didn't have a car and it was super easy to get around that way! She helped me out a lot when I needed it! Definitely recommend staying here if you ever wish to make a trip to Beaufort area.

Ann Street is one of the most historic streets in Beaufort, and this home is part of the history! Built in 1856, this home was a wedding gift to Nanny Davis Taylor Hinnant in 1912.
We are 1 block from the waterfront, one block from Beaufort Historic Association, parking for 10 cars and a boat in the back yard. Very quiet street. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance, boutiques, ferry rides, the museum and historic burial ground.

Great place to stay I will definitely give this home 5 stars

  • What a gorgeous place! Yacht House and Beaufort itself surpassed our expectations. When we booked, we dreamed of sitting on a swing on the porch in a soft southern breeze, sipping mint juleps and exchanging pleasantries with the neighbours. And that's just what we did (except we substituted wine for the cocktails). Spacious, gracious, comfortable house that easily accommodated two families. Charlsie and her agent, Angie, were charming and very easy to deal with. The house was immaculate and a minor issue with one of the showers (too hot!) was sorted out immediately. The deck out back was the perfect spot for barbecuing the day's catch after deep-sea fishing, and the kids enjoyed playing games in the living room. Beaufort is a relaxing little town in a beautiful location, with some good restaurants, bars and shopping, and lovely beaches a short ferry ride away. Great experience.

  • Beaufort is a great little town for a getaway and this home is perfect for a family looking to experience the town and surrounding areas. It is centrally located, has all modern amenities (including bathrooms for all bedrooms) and an abundance of space. Angie, the property manager, was incredibly kind and helpful. It was a great experience for all and I would recommend it hands down.

  • The Yacht House- you were so hard to leave! Comfy rooms and antique locks you just can't be beat. You were the perfect nest for our bachelorette party. Within walking distance to everything (which was wonderful because we were prone to be tardy). Outdoor showers, front porch swing and skin kissed by the Rays. O, the Yatch House there's no place we rather stay!

    Keleigh2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Yacht House exceeded our expectations! The property manager was extremely pleasant to work with, as she responded in a timely fashion to any inquiries I had. The listing description of the house is accurate but spending our holiday at the Yacht House made us feel like we were actually home (the apple pie left for us was icing on the cake!). The kitchen was overstocked (a Keurig AND a drip coffee machine is just one example), the house was in a phenomenal location (not even a full block off of Front Street), and the size was perfect for 5 adults and 2 preteens. It is a clean and well maintained property, with a large front porch and back porch to be enjoyed in great weather. I certainly hope I am able to stay at the Yacht House again whenever my travels bring me back to Beaufort!

    Brock2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location - 3 blocks to downtown! Immaculate well stocked home with comfortable beds. Even though we were on the go - it was wonderful to come back to such a comfortable and lovely home.

  • Yacht House was a wonderful place to stay for the weekend in Beaufort. Three families enjoyed a spacious place, with plenty of room to retreat, and plenty of room to hang out together. Photos and description are accurate. The house was well equipped and clean. Walk a couple blocks into the heart of super cute Beaufort. We all IMMEDIATELY started talking about booking the house again for another friends weekend away next year! Thank you Yacht House for a wonderful weekend!

The Conch House! 3 bedroom 1 bath house located in quiet family neighborhood downtown Morehead City walk or bike to everything. Located just 3 miles from Atlantic Beach and Beaufort.
Great neighborhood with sidewalks, historic homes, water access, shopping, dinning and great night life all in walking distance.
  • I can't say enough about this place. Steve was a great host and made sure we were comfortable. A+ experience and I will definitely stay again.

    Conrad2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Prior to arrival Steve stayed in contact to ensure he was at the house when we arrived. When we arrived he greeted us and showed us around the house and backyard giving us a great description of everything he and the house had to offer. During our stay he let us know of events in the area. The backyard had a lot to offer from entertainment for you and friends to a quiet night under the stars with a fire. I would recommend this house to others. Also, since there is no beach access ft Macon has a free beach access. If familiar to the Morehead City area, perfect place.

    Ana2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was an amazing host! The Conch house is something we will never forget. Everything was laid out for us perfectly. Restaurants, drinks, beaches. He helped us with everything. Even left us with bikes to travel. Would and will definitely be staying again in the future.

  • Steve's house was lovely! Morehead is wonderful and Steve was a great host and was very responsive if we needed anything. There was lots of information on the town, extra toiletries in case we forgot any, and cod drinks in the fridge when we arrived. We had a great time!

    Zack2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Best beach vacation ever!!! There's not enough time to write all of the positive things about staying at the Conch House and the owner, Steve! The property owner, Steve, is the most accommodating host. The house was extremely clean and looked exactly like the pictures. The inside is a beautifully decorated beach home (with the most comfortable couch, beds, etc.) and the outside is any outdoor lovers paradise-- huge grill for cooking, beautiful fire pit, outdoor eating area and bar, huge hammock, corn hole boards and perfectly manicured lawn and plants. The house is designed to feel comfortably secluded so that you feel like you're staying at your own luxury private beach house, but you're still right in the middle of town so you're only a quick bike or car ride away from whatever you need. When we arrived, Steve had already pulled out two bikes for us (knowing that we were big outdoors people) with an additional two bikes in the backyard if needed. He also had a bottle of champagne and OJ for us to make mimosas after our long drive there. Steve also brought us fresh muffins, milk and fruit for the morning, and chips, salsa and popcorn for snacks--- it was all of these extra touches that made you feel pampered, as if you were checking into a grand resort. The house is right on the sound (stunning sunset views on the water) and a two minute drive (~15 min bike ride) away from the ocean (Atlantic Beach). Both water accesses were very easy to find and the beaches were perfect. Parking was super easy at the Atlantic Beach (parked right beside the main AB access). It cost $1.50/hour to park there, but there was also free parking near by. You can bike from the house to local restaurants, boardwalk, markets, etc. For night life, we drove 5 min. (maybe less) to the adjacent town Beaufort (great people, nice dive bars and beautiful little town). I had previously mentioned to Steve some of the activities we'd be interested in while on vacation. He went out of his way to bring us brochures and pamphlets on all the local hiking trails, historical sites, beach accesses, etc. so that we could have all the information needed to plan our stay and do everything we wanted to do. In addition to relaxing at the beach, I personally highly recommend visiting the local aquarium ($13/adult and includes a hiking trail on site through the marshlands) and going on the hiking trails/historical site at Fort Macaron. This was my very first time going to Morehead City and it definitely will not be my last! As long as Steve has availability at the Conch House, this will forever be my annual beach vacation! I would highly recommend staying here to any of my friends/family. I went as a get away with my fiancé, but it's the perfect house and location for either families or groups of friends.

  • My first aBnB and Steve has set a high standard for future bookings! The house was incredibly comfortable, the host welcomed us with thoughtful touches and the weather was perfect for a late October. Just wish we had more time to spend there. Don't think twice about this accommodation, once word gets out about this place, it will be impossible to reserve.

Take the stairs up to a large, bright and airy suite, decorated in Fifties decor. Comfortable queen size bed. Kuerig coffee maker in room for a cup of java or tea.
1940's house, only minutes from Front Street and the Historic district. Large bedroom located on 2nd floor had a comfortable Queen bed. Help yourself to tea/coffee, from Kurig in the room. Full, private bath with tub/shower is two steps across the hall.
Great location, close to beaches, restaurants/bars, boating, museums and more. Only 45 minutes to the Ferry at Cedar Island.
  • The wife and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Catherine's lovely home. Spacious and very nicely appointed. Exactly as advertised, the up-stairs level affords privacy with a private bath adjoining the mini-suite. Nice quiet neighborhood with downtown Beaufort river-front only a mile away. Easy access to restaurants, shopping, and beaches - in a bicycle friendly area. Take advantage of the sun-room porch, very comfortable. Catherine was a great host; personally greeted us on arrival and showed us around. Very accommodating and friendly. We would definitely come back again.

  • This was hands down the best airbnb experience I have experienced. Tim and Catherine were amazing hosts and were so accommodating, always checking to see if they could make my stay better. The room was perfect and I loved having the coffee maker and mini fridge in the room. :) I highly recommend staying at their place and exploring the cute little town of Beaufort and all it has to offer. I will definitely stay with them again next time I'm in town!

My place is close to Historic Front Street Beaufort, also home to wild horses on Carrot Island. Various small shops and very nice restaurants. 10 minute ride to Atlantic Beach and Fort Macon., also Beaufort airport is only 1 mile drive.. You’ll love my place because of The location to everything in the area. Also the comfort and security of home.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
  • Stevie's place was perfect. She is such a welcoming and friendly host, with tons of good local suggestions for food and activities. The room is so comfortable and private. I would definitely stay here again.

Nous parlons francais et nous pouvons vous aider si vous avez besoin.
This is our young family's little get-away. We bought it so we wouldn't have to sleep on the sailboat with our 1 year old and our pup (I know, we're soft). We stay here as often as we can get away from Raleigh and welcome fellow travelers at all other times. Our place is set up as we enjoy it and we hope you'll enjoy it as well. There is a smart TV in the bedroom, but no cable - you will need your own amazon/netflix/hulu/sling account. We come to the coast to go sailing, diving, fishing, to eat, to drink, to play, to swim, and as a launching point to blue water and beyond! ;) *Ahem. There's one queen in the master br, a pull-out twin in the living room, and a full futon in the loft. Plenty of sheets and towels and stuff. Also a hammock inside you can sleep in and two giant reclining leather chairs that I sleep in all the time. It's a quiet street, tucked away. Plenty of room for your boat and v. close to the Town Creek Marina and the public dock/boat/kayak/paddleboard launch. Big yard (not fully fenced) which our dog loves. We have horseshoes, a soccer ball, a basketball goal and ball, some tennis rackets, there's even some snorkle gear that a kindly guest left. We also have poker chips, playing cards, chess, and some good adventure books, a few instruments (guitars and a bass), coffee maker, grill, laundry. Our bikes are available for guests too, we just ask that you care for them as you would your own. We have one men's bike and one woman's. We have plenty of sheets and towels, glasswear, silverwear, etc. An additional $50 cleaning fee will apply if staying with pets. We ask that you leave the $50 in cash when you leave. Some previous guests noted the following things to us, so we'd like to point them out here to future guests. The kitchen and bathroom are small. The folks who built this place cobbled it together, it's weird! But in a good way. It is like a one person bathroom though and the kitchen is more like a galley, but you can totally cook anything. There's an oven, stove top, sink, microwave, etc. Also, there is only window unit A/C (and heat), so it may be warm/cold when you arrive if no one has been there for a few days and you may need to give the units time to cool/heat the area. There is also a ceramic space heater during the winter. Guest seem to really like the hammocks, the record player and records, the instruments, the location, and all the space in the yard for the pups.
Quiet neighborhood, not much traffic. Safe place for pets and kids. Bike or walk across the Turner St Bridge to downtown Beaufort. Walk or bike up to the public boat ramp, City Kitchen, Tiki Bar, and Town Creek Marina! Super close.
  • This a weird lil house, but weird as in good. I'm pretty sure it's several different storage buildings and a camper put together. Everything was clean. As previously mentioned by others, the bathroom and kitchen are quite small. The shower might be a bit difficult for someone really tall and/or large. I went out for food all weekend, so the kitchen wasn't that big a deal - but if you are staying long term, it might be difficult. The fridge held enough for my picnic foods I took to the beach. There are the basic staples, but limited. And they are not kidding about the ants. I left a cookie on the counter for 20 minutes and came back to find them attacking. Coffee was provided, and there was milk in the fridge. I bought some sugar and left in the fridge for those who like their coffee hyped. The bedroom was nice and roomy and the bed was soft. Lots of storage for clothes if you want to fully unpack. The living room and den area are very spacious. Great relaxing chill spots. The guitars and record player is a bonus. I only ventured upstairs loft to look, but if you had a group of people, this would offer extra space and some privacy. The ACs kept the place nice and cool. I didn't chance the hammocks - that's a skinny girl's game. The yard was nice a spacious. Didn't get a chance to lounge in the chairs by the fire pit, but it looked nice. I didn't bring the dog, but love that they allow pets. Lots of room to run (just not fenced). Close proximity to downtown, the beach, and area attractions. I don’t recall if it was mentioned that there wasn’t a tv when I booked the place. Normally, no big deal – but it was opening weekend of college football. So I had to rely on electronics. The wifi worked, but was a bit spotty at times. Overall, the neighborhood felt safe. They are doing road construction right off of Turner, so the GPS kept wanting me to take the road that was blocked to get downtown. But it was easy to maneuver around the roadwork. Overall, a great lil stay for the price.

  • The host canceled this reservation 20 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Kyle2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • An affordable, quaint place in a quiet residential neighborhood. Less than a 5 minute drive to historic Beaufort. A good option for a quick girls trip to the beach. The yard is also pretty great. The host was responsive on the few questions we had. No complaints!

    Beth2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cute place! The record player and hammock inside made for a relaxing night. Beautiful, spacious yard. No television anywhere in the house was odd but not a deal breaker for us. Defiantly recommend if you are looking for quiet.

    Melinda2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a great location, close to main Beaufort and other points of interest. It's roomy and has a nice yard and outdoor space to relax. Quiet neighborhood! There were not towels or washcloths provided so you will need to bring your own. The kitchen and bathroom are from an original camper (appears the house has been built around an existing camper) and are very small. We did not cook in the kitchen- it would be challenging to do so. Bed linens are lacking (no top sheet, old pillows, etc.) Overall, a good value for the money, especially if you are bringing pets.

    Wendy2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a darling place. We loved it's quirky features and it was an awesome value. Clean, close to downtown and had an awesome yard. We'll definitely be back to stay.

    Wendy2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Overall this is a decent place to stay for a quick trip to the beach. I would not recommend it for a long trip, as the bathroom and kitchen are extremely small. Kitchen does have the essentials, but that's about it. We appreciated the WiFi and the record collection. It's definitely a unique home. As another guest mentioned, the kitchen and bathroom appear to be from an old camper. Also, the house was hot when we arrived, and it took quite a while to cool down once we turned on all the A/C units. Definitely check out Island Express Ferry if you're in town. We loved seeing the wild horses!

    Megan2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as advertised. Easy to find, easy to checkin. Well stocked with all the necessities and clean. The private backyard was perfect for my little dog. No issues at all. Would I stay there again? Yes. No doubt.

Private room and bathroom in historic home with large front porch complete with rocking chairs, one block from the water and five blocks from downtown shops, restaurants and waterfront activities.
I call my house Shell Land II, as I have a massive shell collection, many of which are displayed on my front porch railing. The house is a two-story 150-year old home (with all of the quirks a 150-year old home has!), located just outside the historic district. My favorite feature of the house is the large front porch, complete with rocking chairs so you can “sit a spell” and talk with the neighbors who walk by. My house is 1.5 blocks from the water, and a short kayak or swim over to the Rachel Carson Nature Preserve, known by locals as Bird Shoals or Carrot Island. Rental kayaks, paddleboards, bikes all available nearby. I have two (well-used) bikes you can use for short jaunts around town. Note that I do use one of them fairly often--we can work bike schedules :) If you crave the open ocean, you can walk four blocks to the National Park Service Visitor Center and take the passenger ferry to Shackleford Island or Cape Lookout. And Bogue Banks with lots of public beach access spots is a 20-minute drive away. Your room is on the ground floor and has a Queen bed. It's right off the front porch so you can enjoy those rocking chairs. You'll have your own bathroom (not shared) that is off the dining room, not connected to your room, but it's just a few steps away. You are also welcome to use the outdoor shower. I provide a coffee maker and coffee in the kitchen--you just have to make it :) My house-keeping style is casual (I am not a neatnik for sure) and my politics are liberal. This is a gay-friendly household. I'm happy for you to use the microwave in the kitchen and keep a small number of items in the fridge--no cooking, though. If you need to use the washer and dryer (or hang out your laundry), just let me know.
Beaufort is the third-oldest town in North Carolina, and we have a fascinating historic district and many beautiful, restored historic homes. We have picturesque old cemeteries, and a double-decker bus, imported from England, that tours the town with a narrator who gives the full story of the many interesting things that Beaufort offers. Blackbeard the Pirate also spent time in Beaufort, and his house is just down the street from mine! Folks come from all over the world to visit our small town—for its history and its natural beauty.
  • Great time, most helpful, easy walk to town!

  • Dail's house is homey and comfortable, with a great porch and walking distance from town. We would like to stay again!

    Rachel2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Dail made her space available on fairly short notice, and was extremely welcoming and helpful. She helped me decide where to go and what to do, showed me maps, ferry schedules, etc. She even cooked a great homemade taco soup that was warm and ready when I got in long after dark from a 10 mile kayak paddle. I would've stayed longer, but had to get back on the road. A good experience and she made me feel at home.

    Jeff2015-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time booking a private room on Airbnb. I'm so thankful I had a wonderful host! Dail was very helpful in providing suggestions on where to eat and what to see. She was very accommodating. The pull out bed was actually very comfortable. Next time I'm in the area, I will be booking my stay with Dail!

    Derek2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dail is a lovely host...we enjoyed coffee and conversation with her every morning...she was most helpful in terms of the local area, yet also gave us our own space. Her home is decorated with lovely items from her travels, and lots of local conchs. The house is not modern, the bed a pull out couch which will not appeal to everyone; yet Dail more than makes up for any discomforts!

  • Neighborhood is nice. Place has potential. Rather than leaving a few fruits and crackers host would do well to focus on providing the basic amenities that is claimed on the listing. This place has sub par basic amenities. 1. Window AC unit is inadequate for the space. . Cannot be set for a temperature. It is on a automatic timer to turn off after 30 minutes to save money. 2. Bathroom shower stall not big enough for an adult male to take shower without banging against the walls. 3. Bathroom Sink is so tiny. Too small to wash your face or even shave. 4. Lacks a real Kitchen: Tiny kitchenette with no stove, (portable hot plate) no full size refrigerator (only is a tiny 3.2 Cu Ft fridge). But claimed as a kitchen under amenities. Few junky old and dirty utensils picked up from a thrift store for crockery and cutlery. 5. There is no deck. Just the landing for the stairs claimed as a deck to enjoy the sunset and the breeze. 6. Parking on the side of the street in front of the house. Even though off street parking was mentioned on the listing. Place doesn’t look nowhere near tidy or clean as shown in the pictures. Questionable level of cleanliness. When I checked-in I got a 30 minute un-requested lecture on the area interspersed with, how to save electricity, importance of taking short showers to save water, on house cleaning rules, no crumbs; no thrash overnight policy etc. Then given a written set of house rules 3 pages long (not published on AirBnB) to make sure I never forgot them. Most guests know how to use internet search we don't really require a extended lecture on the area. Then when I checked out on the pretext of making sure I didn’t leave anything left behind she did a thorough inspection and made me wait around for 10 minutes. Since nobody else mentioned this in their reviews; Couldn't help wondering is it just me that was singled out. Because in my over 25 stays with AirBnB it never I experienced anything like that. It felt like checking into a boarding house than a AirBnB guesthouse. Given all that this place is not worth $120+tx. When I stayed in Wilmington the previous night at a far superior place that offered everything it claimed for $80.

  • What an interesting host! Susan is a wealth of knowledge on the natural wonders of Beaufort. She can answer your questions about tides, birds, plant and marine life plus direct you to nearby boat launches, marshes and beaches. Her place is in a quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, yet a mere 5 minutes from it all. She provided us with an assortment of light breakfast options plus coffee and tea. She even brought us cut up watermelon. You will enjoy her company and her sweet dog Kiwi.

    Joan2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • PROS: - plenty of space - 15 minutes from Atlantic Beach - Comfortable / Cozy dwelling - Bike rentals just down the street - Kayak rentals within 15 minutes - Downtown Beaufort within walking or biking distance of house - Kitchen equipped to satisfaction - well intentioned host willing to tell you about most everything, attentive, responsive, and very accessible. Very knowledgeable about the area. Host makes consistent attempts to inform guests of local happenings, free to pick veggies from her garden, friendly puppy. CONS: - Host is overbearing and somewhat pretentious - not intentional just lacks self awareness - Shower is super small - Told us to "take short showers," because of her high water bill - Questionable level of cleanliness. Would appear that the only cleaning done between guests is by the guests themselves as she insisted on inspecting our checkout to let us know if "we could do a better job" - Questioned use of AC unit, due to her perception of outdoor temperature - Not respectful of privacy, made a point to tell us while checking out she was "worried about her antique bed" and "could hear us"; this was awkward and entirely unnecessary. She also wanted to show the place to a future tenant at 10:30AM while we were in the house - we declined. A decent spot if you're in the area and do not mind plenty of interaction with your host. If you want privacy and solitude and you're under the age of 50, probably not your first pick.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay. The bed, which is a full size, is very comfortable. Yes, the bathroom is a bit small, but it is perfectly fine and has everything you might need.

The apt was cute and quirky, which was just great for our personalities. Susan is very eco conscious and that shines through in how she cleans her home, and cares for the surrounding wildlife on her property.

If you are looking for a peaceful retreat from which to explore downtown Beaufort and surrounding areas you will find this light filled studio apartment a convenient spot. Situated behind our home among lovely old trees, it is one block from Front Street's wonderful restaurants and shops as well as being in the heart of our historic district. Just right for a couple's getaway or someone in town on business. We think you will find the space to be comfortable and cozy.
Deck by which you will enter includes gas and charcoal grills and outdoor sink, and is available for your use. Patio on rear side is just right for morning coffee. Step inside to a living area with pull down wall bed built especially for us and with a comfy queen size memory foam mattress. When bed is up there is access to a pull down desk. Around the corner from the living/bed room is a small kitchen (no dishwasher though) and off the kitchen is the bathroom.
Our neighborhood consists of historic homes and other buildings such as lodges and churches. Beaufort's historic site, our fascinating and well maintained Burying Ground and retail district are all close by. On the waterfront you will find ferries for exploring nearby islands.

  • The Backyard Studio apartment in the historic district of Beaufort is a comfortable and cozy space from which one can enjoy a number of things. Access to Beaufort's Front Street could not be much better. The hosts were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. If you are looking to cook gourmet meals this is not the place, but otherwise is very functional for providing the ability to prepare simple meals.

Upon arrival, we found the apartment was comfy and cozy and everything was as nice as could be...coffee set up, snacks in a basket on the counter and bottled waters in the frig! Fun beachy decor and we even had access to beach bikes to ride downtown Beaufort for lunch Saturday! If you want a pleasant, quiet stay in a beautiful town...you can't beat this spot! We will definitely be back!!

  • Everything was just as pictured and described. Our hosts were helpful, but allowed us to have our privacy. The unit has a lovely balcony which was great for enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. We also enjoyed the use of the bicycles provided. Front street ( shops, water and dining) was a quick ride by bike and even quicker by car. We kayaked for the first time (Rachel Carson Reserve) and went to Shackleford Banks to see the wild horses (National Parks Island Ferry is the only service that drops off and picks up).We had an excellent workout with beautiful views on the first and tons of uncrowded beach time on the later. We would highly recommend this trip.

This home was built in 2007 and is on stilts. Guests must to be able to manage steps. Best things about this house is that it is tucked away in Beaufort away from the hustle and bustle of town, yet the center of town is only 3 miles away. I have several beach cruiser bikes you are welcome to use or you may just choose to sit and rest on one the decks or backyard hammock. Both bedrooms have cable / smart televisions and wifi access.
If there is anything special you would like to do while visiting Beaufort I would be happy to make recommendations. Just ask! There is lots more to the town than just beaches. :-)
  • Had a wonderful time staying with Carol and Jim for a weekend! Carol was an awesome host, she was very communicative and responded immediately to any questions we had. We actually ended up getting in at 3 in the morning because our flights were canceled, but Carol had no problem accommodating us. The listing is exactly as advertised with two private rooms and a bathroom on the same side of a hallway and a shared living/dining space. Highlights include Carol's dog Fuzzy, who is adorable and very friendly. Also, the bathroom is huge and everything is extremely clean. There were snack baskets in our rooms and suggestions for things to do in Beaufort which was very considerate. We would absolutely stay again!

  • Carols place is wonderful for anyone wanting to just take time out from your busy schedule. Wonderful location in Beaufort...close to everything yet just off the beaten path to enjoy the peace and quiet away from the bustle. Carol and her housemate Jim were very accommodating and friendly! Everything was very clean and very accessible. These folks go the extra mile to make you feel at home and make sure you have a great time! These are locals who know the area very well and are excellent at giving helpful advice on local eateries, restaurants, bars, or whatever activities you may be interested in. And I can't forget to mention Fuzzy...he is a super sweet pup and always happy to receive your loving rubs!

  • Our weekend stay with Carol and Jim was delightful. Carol's home is beautiful; tucked away in a peaceful spot yet convenient to town. The home was very clean; bathroom facilities excellent and the rooms very clean and comfortable. An attention to detail was evident. Everything was perfect; from relaxing on the deck to time with Fuzzy. A true joy...a most lovely dog. As guests we were sharing their home with them so wished to be respectful of their space; yet as hosts, Carol and Jim were most welcoming. Thank you both!

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Carol, her housemate Jim and Fuzzy the Dog. They went out of their way to make us feel like part of the "family." The home is lovely, we had a fun game of pool with Jim in the upstairs rec room. The neighborhood is quiet and less than a 10-minute drive from downtown Beaufort. Beaufort is a very charming place and since there are no hotels there (only inns and B&Bs), we felt fortunate to be able to stay at Carol's. Carol had lots of good suggestions about where to eat and hang out. A highlight of our trip was going to Shackleford Banks, we caught the ferry in downtown Beaufort.

  • Comfy cozy Captain's Quarters! Well suited for what we needed while in the area. Hubby enjoyed playing pool with Jim, and I was so impressed with Carol's stained glass studio that I just had to make a special purchase. Several thoughtful amenities. My other personal highlight after a long day's work was a welcomed soak in the Jacuzzi. Then to wake to a nice cup of coffee provided for us in the morning. And of course all of us loved our new furry fuzzy friend! :-) Overall a really nice stay.....Special Thnx to our Hosts!
