Plaza
“Take the metro for DC travel, traffic is the worst and the roads are very complicated”

Science Museum
“It's FREE! The Air and Space on the Mall is one of the best museums in the world! Some of the most important airplanes and rockets in history are located here and the movies and educational opportunities are among the best anywhere. It is almost always crowded so it is smart to hit it early before the crowds get there as the day progresses. ”

Zoo
“Normally not zoo fans, we love the Washington one. Set cleverly into the Rock Creek Park valley, the zoo is almost like a park itself. Entrance is free, but parking is $25 or so. Fills up early especially on weekends. Many find the pandas a highlight but plenty more to see too. Our 2 year old's favourite is Rosie the cow :)”

“Fantastic food scene! Come here on a weekend during the day and enjoy all the wonderful food and vibe. Nearby places are good for wine/drinks as well - Cotton and Gin Distillery and a zillion foodie spots.”

Library
“ Not sure why it is being labeled as a library, but getting into the White House is only accessible through tours, which can be registered for online. However, if visitors would like to see the president’s residence from the outside, then it’s an easy walk down Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 15th St. NW and 17th St. NW. There, parties can take pictures with the White House in the backdrop and scream obscenities at, or praises for, Trump through the fence! ”

Capitol Building
“It's FREE! There is really no need for reservations ahead of time, they do have two sections one for people with and one without, it moves at a steady pace. You can not walk around and explore on your own, you must be with the capital tour person. You are not allowed to bring in any food or drinks that include water! You can take in an empty water bottle and fill it up inside. The tour is about 20 min and it is very crowded. The capital cafe is awesome! It’s pretty big with good food, good price. ”

Science Museum
“It's Free to enter and very family friendly. Easy to navigate and easy to understand displays. Everything is accessible by ramp so very stroller and wheelchair friendly as well. They also bring in experts sometimes to speak at different exhibits. A true must see. And a nice break from the weather! Cafe was awesome.”
