We invite you to experience a relaxing and rejuvenating 'Retreat' or Get-A-Way in our Tree Home Suite on Whidbey Island WA...just 1 hour north of Seattle. Our nurturing gift to you is providing delicious and nutritious continental breakfasts every morning you are here. You'll surely transend the bustle of busy life and be transformed as you immerse yourselves in this incredibly peaceful and healing environment. Enjoy 'full-circle' views of rich woods in our 250 Sq ft Octagon Tree Home with a gorgeous cedar tree going straight up through the center of the living space! A solid stairway travels 13 ft above the ground, leading to the 10' x 12' covered deck and your doorway to heavenly rest and retreat! Surround windows and skylights in the roof peak allow you to feel what it's like to be completely immersed in a beautiful, serene, healing forest of cedar, fir, hemlock, maple, alders, varieties of fern...and oh...enjoy watching and listening to our 'resident' deer, owls, ravens, eagles and many other birds. Look up through the skylight roof peak to behold a seemingly unending kaleidoscope view of tree limbs circling their trunks as they reach high in the sky. Be sure to see all the photos posted above including views of the beach, water and stunning sunsets over the Olympic Mountains.....easily accessible, less than 1/2 mile away. This gem is best suitable for adults, but we do allow children 12 and older too. Three adults can manage better than 4 because the hide-a-bed is a 'half-way-between-twin-and-double' size. However it has slats and an excellent quality foam mattress so it does not have the typical hide-a-bed 'bars' to contend with, nor does it sink in the middle. We provide single-sized, thick and dense foam pads and linens when needed for extra people. Please feel free to ask us how we can best meet your unique needs. Accommodations in the one Tree House include: Queen Bed, "Sort of" Double Hide-a-bed Sofa (see paragraph above), Desk, Dining Table, Free Wi-Fi, TV moniter for viewing DVD's/VHS. A thermostatically controlled radiator heater AND electric 'Fireplace' add warmth and ambiance. We provide a fridge (with freezer), microwave, dishes and silverware for prep and eating simple meals, warmed up left-overs, etc. We just don't allow 'cooking', using hot plates or fry pans, etc.... The fire pit may be used to enjoy a campfire and grill or roast hamburgers, hotdogs and marshmallows. Substantial cooking here with your own cooking equipment is not encouraged, because that would require more extensive 'clean-up' than just a few dishes and utensils Our drain field is small and we want to keep the flow of gray water into it 'frugal' and biodegradable as much as possible. We provide a tasty continental breakfast to enjoy at your leisure. Your own private (and VERY cute) Shower House just a few footsteps away provides a shower, sink and state-of-the-art, no-odor composting toilet. We do have a porta-potty (marine type) on the deck of the Tree House for the middle-of-the-night needs so you don't have to trudge down in the dark to the composting toilet in the Shower House. Please read the house rules before you reserve to see if this type of accommodation is right for you.
  • Lynn and Ken were superb hosts, and the tree house was splendid! I would definitely suggest it to anyone looking for a unique and lovely experience. We will definitely be doing this again!

  • We had the opportunity to stay at "A Treehouse Retreat" and it was a wonderful experience. Lynn and Ken are both very easy going and amazing hosts. The minute we arrived we were greeted by them both who promptly showed us the property, the beautiful "Tree House" studio we stayed in and the shower house that is clean, modern and tastefully decorated. The treehouse structure and studio were amazing, with a clean and beautiful room and property one could easily get lost in rest and relaxation. Skylights and large windows around the "Treehouse" provide a great view and a very relaxing atmosphere. Alongside the numerous things to do and see on the beautiful Whidbey Island, Lynn and Ken ensured our stay was pleasurable. Our hosts gave us plenty of privacy and were more than willing to respond and help with any issues that might have arisen during our stay. If you want a truly unique experience in a wonderful area with a couple of great hosts who have a beautiful and one of a kind property, "A Treehouse Retreat" is for you! Close to Freeland and only minutes away from scenic locations like beachfront, we can't wait to plan our next getaway with Lynn and Ken.

  • Thank you Lynn & Ken for letting us stay in your Tree House. It was an interesting and unforgettable experience.

  • We came to Lynn and Ken's Treehouse after a week of wedding festivities in Snohomish. We were looking for some rest and relaxation and the Treehouse fit the bill perfectly. We enjoyed the comfort of the accommodations, the fire pit and the lovely continental breakfast, Lynn provided each morning. It is so peaceful and beautiful there! The Treehouse is located in Freeland on Whidbey Island, so a ferry ride is required, but we found it to be an easy on an off the island. Since I was the "travel agent" for our trip, I wasn't sure my husband would like the treehouse, but that was the highlight of the trip. My husband has told me about 5 times that when we get back to the Seattle area, we have to spend time there and I agree. Thanks Lynn and Ken. We look forward to visiting again.

  • Love the peacefulness and kind help from our hosts. We had a comfortable stay with our 2 grandkids . Very nice breakfast tray! Would love to go again!

  • I was looking for a special place to stay for my reunion with my 20-year-old daughter, and we found it at Lynn and Ken Berry's Treehouse. It was unique, beautiful, and comfortable. The bed was the best I slept on during my vacation. The 360* views, the skylights to watch stars through, plenty of space, and the delicious continental breakfasts just made it better. The weather turned cool and we'd only brought light weight clothes, so sometimes we felt a little cool, but we were comfortable. Several times my daughter and I sat on the private porch and watched the birds and deer in the woods below us. The treehouse is high enough to be fun, but not so high as to scare you. A hummingbird had built her nest right outside the dining room window, and she with her two, tiny chicks were fascinating to watch. Deer often browsed on the lawn right below the porch. Lovely. The bathhouse was easy to use, super clean, and warm. Lynn and Ken were a delight to meet, and made us feel quite welcome. We plan to come back for sure. I highly recommend this Treehouse.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed here while we were in town for a wedding on Whidbey Island. Our friends all stayed in hotels, but when we found this tree house, we knew we had to stay there, if only for the story. Needless to say, it was such an incredibly unique and WONDERFUL experience! The tree house is impossibly comfortable and cozy, and gives you the feeling of an in-the-woods experience (you're surrounded by towering leafy trees) while still providing the comfort of carpeting, a warm bed, and a fridge with food, among many other things. Our friends kept stopping by to see what we meant when we said we were staying in a tree house, and they too were blown away. Again, rustic AND convenient: There were actually deer, hummingbirds, and great horned owls right outside, and the place is also just a 5-10 minute drive from a grocery store, restaurants, and coffee. It was so nice to be able to spend some days out exploring, and other days on the couch with a movie. (And lastly, since I think some will be curious about this point -- I'll admit that I was wary of the "separate shower house" situation at first, but it turned out to be totally fine. Super clean and comfortable bathroom with great water pressure, just down the stairs.) Overall, a truly great find!!

  • What a wonderful experience! Lynn and Ken were amazing and very helpful with information about the island. The drive and ferry ride made the start of our trip very special and different, seeing that we're from the desert. We definitely will visit in the future. THANK YOU Lynn and Ken!!!

  • I loved my stay here! It was short, and sweet; definitely a space I'll keep in mind for a future trip to Whidbey Island! I highly recommend this clean, beautiful, quiet space. For anyone seeking a simple getaway / alternative to camping, THIS is "glamping" at its finest.

    Haley2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Refugio was lovely. Private, rustic, charming. We would highly recommend!

    Marielle2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place! One thing to note that is not clear from the posting is that the main house of the owners and the neighbors have a clear view of you using the bathroom. There is a half partition wall that doesn't hide much. This wasn't an issue for us, but was unexpected given the photos which suggested a more rural setting.

    Nicholas2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The place looks just like the pictures show, except they don't show the beautiful veggie garden they've got growing in front of the cabin! The cabin was clean, welcoming and charming with a quiet surrounding and lots of birds chirping. I'd love to come back soon. Thank you!

    Analia2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • It's a very cute cabin, we loved the style. We especially enjoyed the wood stove! The wood was slightly damp, but worked out okay. If it's raining a lot come prepared to get wet when you're using the compost toilet or preparing food, the overhang from the cabin doesn't protect much from the rain. The cabin is right by grocery stores and restaurants which is very handy (unless you want to get away from everything and sounds of traffic).

    Shoshana2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is definitely glamping at it's finest. My girlfriend and I spent a night here and was very enjoyable. Cynthia gave very clear instructions on what we do when we arrived and answered all our questions. The location is super nice as the beach is about a 5 minute walk away. Will definitely come back the next time I visit the area!

    Kenny2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Super cool little cabin. We were very comfortable, and I slept like a rock. Great location if you are checking out Whidbey Island or doing some wine tasting. Would totally stay here again.

  • My husband, golden retriever, and I had a wonderful stay at Jessica's Whidbey home a couple weeks ago. The house was exactly as pictured, the location serene, and the weather perfect for a weekend getaway. We really enjoyed the waterfront view, Komodo loved playing on the beach (and in the water!), and Freeland was a beautiful backdrop for my long run. The home is conveniently located next to a shopping center, yet feels private and "away from it all" thanks to its amazing beach waterfront location. The wood-burning stove also made for cozy evenings after our leisurely days spent out and about. We had a great trip and would recommend this house to others. Jessica - you were wonderfully responsive and clearly care about your guests. Thanks for everything! ~Sara & David Dawson

  • This was a great place for a weekend away. We loved looking at the gorgeous view and walking on the beach, and my husband and son were able to go clamming at the public area just a couple hundred yards down the shore. The house had everything we needed, including fun games and puzzles, and a well stocked kitchen. Beds were very comfy and everything was clean. Highly recommended!

  • Very clean, quiet, and spacious. Great value in a house that is clearly well loved. Well stocked kitchen and plenty of puzzles to keep you busy! Great location

  • We had an amazing weekend at the Baby Beach House. Jessica was super friendly and helpful and the house was absolutely perfect. Gorgeous water views, bald eagles soaring right above the yard and a quiet neighborhood make for a perfect island getaway. Tons of added amenities including WiFi, stereo with iPod hookups, Croquet set, kayaks and more.

  • What a perfect place to ring in 2016! My partner, our pup and 3 friends loved our stay at the Whidbey Waterfront beach cottage. On an island known for amazing views, this cottage's setting is extraordinary. On the inside, we appreciated the nicely appointed kitchen and that our host, Jessica had stocked dry firewood for the wood stove. I can't say enough about Jessica, who was delightful and helpful before, during and after our stay. She alerted us to possible construction next door, and arranged for the work to begin later in the morning. The guys were the quietest construction workers I've ever experienced, and we hardly knew they were there. Everything turned out just fine, but we appreciated Jessica being so proactive. We won't hesitate to stay at the Whidbey Waterfront cottage again in any season.

  • Beautiful watetfront cabin, grrat view and location. Price does not match amenitie. Cabin is old, not insulated, central heat blower runs all night with all the drafty walls and windows. Main bed very soft and old, we slept on sectional couch. Bathroom tiles mouldy

  • We loved the cozy quiet home you provided for us. Anything we forgot was already there. It was a step back in time for me. Reminded me of my Great Grandmother's home from when I was a child, but with modern conveniences. I loved the wicker and old cabinets. Baby Beach is a jewel! We will recommend it to all our family and friends! Thank you!!

  • Absolutely a great stay in a true sanctuary. We would stay there again anytime. Perfect for two people, or a small family. Quiet, secluded, everything worked well, and the occasional Great horned owls calling at night made the weekend. :-)

  • It is a cabin in the woods but with easy access to trails and walking on the beach. It rained much of the time that I was there...which is good because it is a peaceful place to read by the fire.

  • This is a totally charming, artistic place. Cozy and appealing, very quiet yet conveniently close to town and beaches. Perfect getaway for me and my teen daughter.

    Toni2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you want quiet and secluded, this is your place! We immediately felt so comfortable in this cozy cabin. We toured a local distillery (Mutiny Bay Distillery) and got some amazing whiskies, which went down very well in front of the glass-doored woodstove at the cabin. Note: brush up on your woodstove skills during the colder months, or if you are planning on using the sauna, which I highly recommend! All in all a great value and no surprises. Don't hesitate to book, you won't be disappointed.

  • Eli's place is fantastic. A true gem.

    Heather2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I were looking for a quiet and private space for the weekend and Eli's house was amazing and what we were looking for. Eli is a great host and the cabin is charming for real. We were always in communication and when we got there, he showed us the property and explained the basics of the cabin and sauna (!). The cabin and property are like the pictures. While we stayed it was raining and cold, but that was no problem because the fireplace warms up the cabin very well. Same as the sauna, which is such a treat. We would love to stay here again.

Welcome to your tranquil country refuge on South Whidbey Island. This quiet, end of the lane, lovely private apartment is full of amenities and acreage for your comfort and entertainment.
Enjoy morning coffee on your private porch overlooking lush green gardens and forests. The apartment sits on 5 acres of wooded, tranquil land at the end of a country lane. The clean, elegant, and spacious private living area is light-filled and airy with its high ceilings and many windows and skylights, which illuminate the space with light and views. Listen to the songbirds fill the air with their melodies as you sip your morning coffee on your private porch. Have a picnic on the grass and watch for eagles, hawks, and ospreys circling in the sky above or take long walks along the secret forest paths of Whidbey. Just minutes from downtown Freeland and a short drive into the charming seaside town of Langley. This delightful spot is a short distance from some of the Puget Sound's most lauded landmarks, including Double Bluff beach, several scenic nature trails, a variety of small towns and harbors, and plenty of famous restaurants and bars, as well as an array of historic landmarks. We are minutes from Freeland's antique shops and within walking distance of the Earth Sanctuary. The kitchen is equipped with granite counter tops, a small refrigerator, hot plate, coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, dish ware, pots and pans, cooking supplies, and basic condiments. The living room has two sofas, dinning table, TV with streaming video, DVD player and free WiFi access. The shelves are stocked with an assortment of games, cards, and books for your enjoyment. The full bathroom with its lovely tiled floors and granite counters is filled with light from its own skylight. Enjoy a queen size bed in the large bedroom along with a full/double hide-a-bed in the living room. There is plenty of closet space in case you decide to stay longer. An additional ground-floor bedroom with a queen-sized bed is available in our home, which is separate from the apartment, for an additional $50/night. This room has a private entrance and shared full bathroom in the hallway right next to it. We'll provide fresh eggs, coffee, delicious fresh breads or other baked goods, cereal, and local homemade jams for your breakfast but leave the cooking up to you. The country neighborhood is calm, beautiful, safe, and filled with fresh air and greenery. Their are exquisite, panoramic views of the Olympic Peninsula mountains on the drive in. An Alpaca farm with a country store is nearby. We are in walking distance of the Earth Sanctuary.
  • This was a tranquil spot indeed! We enjoyed the lovely, quiet surroundings so much, and the apartment itself is extremely comfortable. Little touches like the fresh flowers, the provided breakfast ingredients, and the Roku with Netflix (though we didn't use it) really showcase the hosts' impressive attention to detail. The Tranquil Refuge is highly recommended!

  • A perfect forest retreat on Whidbey Island! We were only there for one quick night - but Kim and Andrew made check in easy and provided breakfast snacks and coffee. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

  • This quiet spot, in the thicket of wilderness is a hop, skip, and a jump away from grocery stores, restaurants, and local hot spots. This was convenient when planning for meals, and making sure we ate the best of what the island had to offer. Kim has the home fully stocked with breakfast groceries, games, and guides to the town. The home itself offers a brilliant breeze and you get a personalized symphony from the birds every day.

  • We absolutely loved our one night stay here! The host gave us good instructions very quickly and we felt warmly welcomed. The interior of the unit felt even larger than our expectations. All of the decorations, lighting, toiletries, etc were top notch. The host paid extra attention to detail - from the farm fresh eggs to the fresh cut flowers! We will definitely be coming back and highly recommending it to our friends! We only wish we were staying longer!

    Kendal2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent experience at Kim's place. It is very much a tranquil refuge and Kim made it a beautiful and welcoming one as well. I cannot recommend this place too highly.

    Graham2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was exactly what we were looking for -- a quiet peaceful place to unplug. Kim was very welcoming and the cottage had everything we could have asked for in terms of supplies for breakfast and snacking. We only wished we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the trails and enjoy the outdoor activities near by. We would definitely stay there again!

    Alessandra2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • I, and my party of 4, loved our stay at Kim and Andrew's beautiful, quiet, tranquil, comfortable guest house. Everything was as described, a lovely bedroom and a pullout sofabed for the second couple and a spotless bathroom with plush towels for all. We made fabulous breakfasts with delicious coffee each morning, with local eggs of varying sizes and colors! And having breakfast on the deck in the sunshine was delightful. I had special questions and requests all answered immediately and with true kindness, warmth, and thoughtfulness. I would highly recommend staying here and if I'm lucky enough to return I will plan more time "at home".

Welcome to this charming, private cottage. Winter price is $79.- with some higher prices on Holidays & summer season:) ALL KIND PEOPLE WELCOME, no matter what religion-, sexual orientation- or country you are from! THINK HYGGE! The Cottage is set near the Small Whidbey Island House, which is totally overgrown and hardly visible from the cottage. It is set among the trees on 3 acres on beautiful Whidbey Island, 2 miles from the town of Freeland (antique stores, grocery store, post office, etc., etc.), about 5 miles from my favorite beach, "Double Bluff", that holds stunning views of the Cascade Mountains, Mt. Rainier, and the Olympic Mountains with miles of walking. The cottage is a cozy, light- filled and airy space with its high ceiling and many windows and skylights. The stand up sleeping loft has an opening window and the skylight for a more spacious feel, as well as a comfy double size bed and a writing desk and chair. And because of the wire railing, it is not suited for children. Sorry for that. The galley kitchen is equipped with an under the counter fridge, a apartment size gas range, a toaster oven, a coffee maker, an electric tea kettle, all the dishes and basic condiments. It has a granite and a butcher top counter. There is Italian tile on the bathroom floor as well as in the shower. There is plenty of closet space in case you decide to stay longer. You may lounge on the inviting window bench seat to take in the open forest view, or enjoy the WiFi to write those long- due letters on your computer. Have your morning breakfast under the porch and listen to the birds. Either way, this super quiet romantic place for two will leave you nurtured and nourished by its splendid green views and quiet nature surrounds. In 2001, my friend, who is a fine wood worker, and I started to build this wonderful space, using recycled materials as in Windows, doors, flooring and tile. We built it as a retreat for writers. We hand chafed the big posts and beams for a more rustic look. It took us 1.5 years, every day after our regular jobs to finish building it! I love how quiet it is here and how dark it gets at night because we are far away from city lights. Each neighbor has 3 to 5 acres of property and from mine I can see a little bit of the home of one of them. I like that it is only about 2 miles to Freeland where I can find the grocery store and post office as well as some stores for treasure hunting or a cafe to sip coffee in on a rainy day. And please: do read the house rules! That way there are no surprises for you. This is my third space posted on this web site. The other ones are: ~The smaller and lower priced space Tiny House / Caravan (http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/66010 ). ~The bigger House that has a queen size bed ( https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1742586). ~The DOG Friendly, Ocean & Mountain View Apartment (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/6164305).
  • Mandeja's cottage was the perfect get away. It was so peaceful, and beautifully decorated. I would highly recommend this stay on Whidbey Island.

    Dana2013-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the cottage! It was very well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. The host also provided a binder with information about the area, which was very helpful, and we were able to explore different parts of the island based on the recommendations she had. Overall it was a wonderful experience, and we would not hesitate to come back in the future.

  • Mandeja's cottage was heaven! It was exactly what my gf and I were looking for. Absolutely peaceful and quiet. Very relaxing. Mandeja was a gracious host - very communicative and yet at the same time gave us all the space and alone time that we were looking for. We had a wonderful experience staying here.

    Elena2015-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was incredibly cozy and perfect for what we were looking for.

    Aries2016-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely rejuvenating two days in Mandeja's cottage, walking on the beach and in the forest, and relaxing in our cozy home away from home. The setting, amenities and provisions were all as advertised; the cabin was private and quiet. Groceries and other supplies were easy to get in the nearby community, and the cottage was well supplied and had instructions on how to use everything. The ladder to the loft is pretty steep - I wouldn't recommend it for elderly guest. Lovely cottage for a Valentine's weekend.

    Margaret2014-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed our stay very much. The space is very peaceful and close to nature. The cottage is bright and cozy. Host set up everything for our stay and did not encroach on our visit. We wanted to get away and he let us.

  • We had a delightful stay! Everything was clearly labeled and explained. It was a very clean and charming space and it felt like staying with a good friend. She had great suggestions for discovering the local magic of the island.

    Jude2015-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was exactly what my husband and I were looking for in a weekend getaway. Secluded, quiet, and private, despite other residences on the property. The cottage itself is small, but enough space for relaxing, cooking, and sleeping. Mandeja has thoughtfully provided everything you could need: books, CDs (love the collection!), plates/bowls/utensils, cooking wares, plenty of blankets, wifi, and more. Everything was very clean. The decor was charming and worldly, giving the cottage a warm feel and makes me feel right at home. We had a relaxing and wonderful time at the cottage. Definitely recommend!

We welcome all to our peaceful hideaway on beautiful Whidbey Island. We call it Wits' End, because when you're at the end of your rope, retreat here to let your worries melt away, with ocean air, garden treasures, and island adventures aplenty. You're a short walk from the beach and the home includes plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy.
We do vacation here often, so don't be surprised that there are clothes in the drawers, maybe a half-finished puzzle on the loft table, or even a freshly-run load of dishes in the dishwasher. We'll make sure the place is clean and comfortable for you and your family.
Golfer? We're a five-minute walk from the Holmes Harbor Golf and Beach Club. You'll also be minutes away from a major grocery store and a variety of restaurant options.
  • This is a cosy place with a lovely view. Tyler and Keegan were fantastic communicators and their place is warm , welcoming and just like home. It's a wonderful place to bring children, and is equipped with everything you could possibly need! It's a perfect location from which to explore the many beautiful spots of the island. We had a fantastic time!

  • Amazing place for the money, way undervalued. They were fast on responses, and my first air bnb experience was amazing because of them. The view and ambiance of the house is better than the photos, and the photos are great. Dont pass on this one.

  • We stayed here for an extended weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The property was so nice and quiet and had lovely views of the tranquil waters of the harbor. We enjoyed visiting local farms and restaurants and did a couple of trips to nearby Langley. The house has a casual "lived in" feel but was very clean. Overall, we had a great stay and the hosts were extremely helpful and timely in their communication.

  • Wits’ End is flat out our new favourite city getaway Airbnb in the Pacific Northwest, and we do not give such accolades lightly. We have visited twice and the house is gorgeous. It is spacious and relaxing with a cosy, thoughtful and welcoming feel. Little touches make you feel at home and there are a ton of things to enjoy including a fireplace, film projector, a master bed with massage functionality (!!), a large outdoor area, and a dog run. The view is magnificent, and we made some special memories painting stones in front of the ocean. At night we enjoyed spending time in front of the fire pit over smores, and later inside with a movie and open fire. Although we don’t have children (if we did they would love it here!), we also confess the trampoline saw some brief use, taking us back to our childhood for a few minutes. As did the jar of candies very thoughtfully left by the hosts! The location is well situated for experiencing a good section of Whidbey Island, close to beaches, restaurants and shops. Getting to Langley, Coupeville, and other areas is a breeze. For food options, the manual contains a great selection of recommendations, and we also liked that the location is less than ten minutes away from the Payless Supermarket, which offers great produce (and wine!!) for cosy homecooked meals. The hosts, Tyler and Keegan, went to great lengths to make us feel at home, leaving the house well stocked with everything we needed, very clean, and helping us through whatever questions we had. They also guided us on how to get to the island and beat the traffic for the ferry, which we really appreciated as it saved us a lot of time in the car. This is a fantastic Airbnb that has quickly become a favourite in our ongoing efforts to stay sane. I’d recommend Wits’ End to anyone looking for a short break, with or without kids. You won’t be disappointed!

  • Great place, great location. View is pretty beautiful from the house. The house layout is convenient. Prompt and useful communication from host. Definitely recommended. We were 5 adults and everyone had a great stay and enough personal space.

  • Charming house. Amazing view. High tech projection set up for movie viewing. Wow! Centrally located so you can enjoy the whole island.

    Jodi2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Wits' End! The space is cozy and lived in, yet remarkably clean and tidy - generally a tough balance with Airbnb and vacation rentals! It's situated in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood with an incredible view. Their home is very well-appointed and was very comfortable for our young family of four. We just wish we could've stayed longer!

    Jasmine2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tyler and Keegan's place was the highlight to our fun-filled weekend on Whidbey Island! It's a great quiet location, still driving distance to groceries and gift shops, and only 18 minutes from Langley or Coupville. I loved all the thoughtful and creative touches around the home and garden, and how cozy it was, even for a stormy, cold weekend. The wall heaters warmed the place up in no time, and there was plenty of firewood for the wood-burning fireplace. Everything we needed we could easily locate! The space was a perfect place to take my mom and sister for the weekend, and as picky as they can be, they were both comfortable the entire time! If we had any questions, Keegan and Tyler were quick to respond. We will look forward to staying again!

The location was perfect, centrally located on Whidbey Island, near the town of Freeland - but still off the main road so you had privacy and no road noise. Great public beaches and hikes nearby. My date and I were there for Easter weekend. The place had everything, including a fireplace, full kitchen, beautiful front and back porches and dog friendly. The apartment is 3 miles away from the town of Freeland (antique stores, grocery store, post office, etc.) This cozy, light- filled and airy space with its huge windows will invite you to sit on the comfortable leather couch looking out at the stellar view, or you may find this galley kitchen with full size refrigerator, electric four burner stove, pots & pans, silver ware, microwave, diverse coffee makers, coffee grinder, toaster, and ample counter space calling to you to create a meal. The bedroom has a fabulous queen size Ethan Allen sleigh bed, with the same amazing views as in the living room! You can take in the view right from the comfort of the bed. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, sink- vanity, and bench. This super quiet romantic place for two and your dogs will leave you nurtured and nourished by its splendid green views and quiet nature surrounds. Davide and I live in the house above the apartment. Davide did as much sound proofing on the Apartment as he could, and mainly only the running water in the pipes can be heard. We are a quiet and considerate couple, we both have traveled the world extensively and know what it means to come upon a sanctuary, which we wish the apartment will be for you. Pet Policy: -All pets must be on leashes when outside on premises at all times. -The pet owner must have the animal family member with them at all times; no leaving the pet alone in the apartment unless it is too cold - or too hot for your dog to be in the car while you are out dining! (We will reserve the right to ask you to leave if you leave your pet unattended any other time.) -Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up of any/all pet refuse. -Pets are not allowed on furniture at any time without protective sheets or towel. -All pets must be up to date on rabies vaccinations and all other vaccinations. -We do not assume responsibility for illness or injury that may incur to pets or humans while on the premises. -Please keep them out of the gardens.
The apartment is set on a hill with a 160 degree stunning view of the Cascade Mountains & Useless Bay (where there is an off leash park). It has lovely gardens and lawns, and is located in a quiet neighborhood of respectful neighbors, each having 2 or 3 lots of land around them. Double Bluff Beach Park is a nearby off leash park with several miles of beach to roam. It is only a 3 minute ride and 2.35 miles away. • This was the perfect place for us this week. Mandeja's apartment was so welcoming, comfortable, and clean. The two of us and our dog Rusty found it an ideal "home-base" for our week of island exploration. We so appreciated all the special touches that were put in place for people and dogs. Not to mention the proximity to Double-Bluff beach, an off-leash playground paradise for dogs and their humans! Mandeja communicated clearly and responded quickly to our questions and requests. She was very respectful of our privacy, though we did have an opportunity to meet and have a very enjoyable conversation with her. We highly recommend this charming spot whether you are a dog-owner or not. We know that if we have occasion to stay on Whidbey again, this will be our go-to choice. Thank you. Mandeja, for everything! Wendy, Mark, and Rusty

  • Great place to stay with wonderful views. Perfect base to explore the island from.

    Brock2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • This home was everything described in the listing and so much more! It was a beautiful and spacious place with some really awesome views. It was nice and quiet neighborhood, just perfect for some rest and relaxation. Mandeja was so sweet and accommodating, offering an early arrival or late check out if we wished. She also helped us find some fun local spots to eat. I can't wait to return!

    Michelle2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little apartment, inside and out. Mandela has fine taste in furnishings...very pleasing aesthetically. The view of the bay and Cascades floating in the clouds beyond was a pleasure, particularly around sunset. We had all we needed in the kitchen and bathroom. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Whidbey Island.

    David2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous time with Mandeja and David! The apartment was much more spacious than expected and had a beautiful view. The full kitchen was perfect for a cozy night in and the coffee was great for morning! The Freeland location provided easy access (mostly by car- but you can explore by walking too!) to all the places and more that we wanted to see. We would absolutely stay here again when we return to Whidbey!

    Jonathan2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • So cozy!

  • Mandeja was very welcoming and friendly, but let us have our privacy. Her home is in a quiet location with a beautiful view. The apartment was very comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. I enjoyed my morning walks on the quiet surrounding streets. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Cynthia's farmhouse is a real gem. We have stayed in many Airbnb and when the host put their hearts in creating a comfortable and memorable space, you just notice it. From her selection of books, plates, wood stove to instructions on what the light switches are for, everything is well thought of and aim to make it a comfortable and easy stay for the guests. We did. We will be back again!

  • The guesthouse was warm, comfortable, and full of light--all much appreciated in our rainy December weather. We especially liked the comfy beds and linens, as well as the games. The location is very quiet, but still close to a good grocery store, cafes, etc. Cindy was traveling, but communication was excellent and everything in place. Highly recommended!

    Jenner2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy was warm, friendly and a great wealth of information. She met us upon arrival. Provided us with things to do in the island. The guesthouse was beautiful, spacious, and quiet. It was relaxing and homey. We are planning on making this a monthly weekend getaway.

  • We had a great stay at the farm. It was quiet, comfortable, clean, and in a beautiful setting. A perfect place to stay on the island for a weekend getaway!

    Zeke2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely getaway at Cindy's Farmhouse! It was a beautiful, roomy home that would easily fit three couples or a large family. I felt a bit greedy being the only one there. Cindy decorated the space beautifully and thought of every comfort including smart popcorn to enjoy while watching movies. The farm is charming. My favorite was Dandy the Turkey. She is sweeter then sweet and will become a new friend during your stay. Cindy & Eli greeted me and made me feel at home right away. A lovely couple and a lovely stay! I will be back!

  • Ashley was great! The place was perfect. We plan on staying there again

    TERESA2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We did not have a face to face interaction with Ashley. She was, however, immediately responsive when I asked her a question by e-mail after our arrival. The house was comfortable and the location was spectacular. The view was even more fantastic than what we saw in the pictures.

    Nükhet 2015-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house was in the perfect location, super close to town and to the wedding we were attending. The view was amazing and the beach was awesome but there are 125 stairs down to the beach that I don't recall being mentioned elsewhere but that was okay, just a little nerve racking if you have smaller children. We also had a bald eagle as a visitor which was a nice surprise. The property could use some updates and the beds were very uncomfortable! Overall we had a great stay I just wish I could say we had good sleep there too!

    Shawna2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • The property has a gorgeous sweeping water view looking west and tons of animal kingdom encounters including a bald eagle that perched in a tree top right at our eye level. We saw seal and a variety of birds. In the could be better department there are two points : The property has more than its share of deferred maintenance inside and out. I would gladly pay more if the property were in good shape. Even though the neighborhood has a great water view and beach access, the neighborhood is a collection of trailers and move-ons that have seen better days. This did not detract too much from our experience as we mostly were out and about by day across the island.

    Rob2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check-in, communicative host, although we didn't meet her. The house has a great view but no couch. It has pretty thin walls, but it was fine because it was summer, and there are many methods for warming during the winter. The water was hot and everything worked well.

Wonderful little studio style apartment with private access to the water and views of Holmes Harbor from inside the apartment and out on the deck. The perfect place to lounge, sit on the beach, or sit on the deck and take in the views. The location is perfect, and less than a mile from downtown Freeland with a lot of restaurant choices and grocery, and a wonderful gourmet restaurant within walking distance. This is a studio style apartment with an open living, sleeping, and dining area. The kitchenette features a sink with nice counter space, microwave, and small fridge (no range). There is a large dining room table and very comfortable queen size bed. You are definitely in for a treat while staying here.
  • Fantastic place to stay for the weekend. The home is beautiful and nicely stocked. There is only a bbq to cook on, but we managed with a cast iron skillet. The fridge is also one of those mini fridges so don't bring anything you really need frozen. There is an amazing sound system and home theater setup. The bed is way too soft fyi, but after a day of wine tasting its fine.

    Clarence2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was a peaceful, beautiful spot. The space is spotless and very comfortable. There is not much to the town of Freeland, so need to drive to Langley or Coupeville for a selection of restaurants and shops. If you are looking for a beach experience, there is not much of a beach here and the exposure doesn't give you a sunset. But, nice beaches within short drive and good value!

  • A quiet and very comfortable stay on Whidbey Island. Thanks, Jonathan!

    Shepheard2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan's place was so easy to check in and out of, quiet, clean, private, and really lovely. The weather was a bit colder than anticipated so we didn't spend as much time on the dock or little beach, but we would have had it been sunnier. We really loved the deck to the airbnb, and we loved waking up to that gorgeous view. The details of this place were just lovely -- locally made nice smelling hand soap, nighlights in strategic places, shampoo and conditioner (which we forgot, so were grateful for), and all the equipment we needed to grill a nice dinner. You'll love this place.

  • Four stars, this is a wonderful cabin retreat on Whidbey. Marta's space is super cozy, quite, and has everything you will need for an enjoyable trip. Great kitchen, great spots for walks, awesome wood stove (with wood!), kooky and fun architecture, this spot is a gem Marta is a great communicator and did everything she could to make our stay a good one. Thank you Marta!

    Casey2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great and wonderful time at Marta's place! The atmosphere, the quiet, the humming birds, closeness to everything and the seclusion as well. I couldn't ask for more out of an attentive host and a lovely place to stay. I would go back as soon as I had the time again! The yard was quiet and secluded and the house was always warm and had everything I needed. So happy about my choice to stay here! Thank you for the experience, it made for wonderful memories!

    Johnny2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing location! We totally enjoyed the peace and serenity that Marta's Whidbey Retreat provided. Everything from her prompt and pleasant communication down to listening to the rain falling while we stayed warm with a fire in the wood stove. While conveniently close to Freeland and all the associated amenities, this place had a very private and secluded feel to it. We watched the birds and squirrels frolic in the yard and had some scrumptious meals including delicious organic farm fresh eggs that she provided on the house. So green, so (URL HIDDEN) peaceful. Highly recommend and we hope to return for another visit in the future. Warmly decorated and so inviting. Great selection of books to read. It was hard leaving for home after three blissful days and nights. Truly an anniversary to fondly remember forever. Thank you Marta for the privilege of spending our weekend escape at your magical place.

    Spencer2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Marta's cabin is the kind of perfectly decorated and well thought of space that makes you want to meet Marta herself. The cabin is beautiful, with well presented treasures tucked in every corner, the space is bursting with creativity, and everything one needs to enjoy a get away is conveniently at your fingertips; the property its self is lovely, and the location feels perfectly secluded while not being too far away from any amenities you might need (i.e. groceries, a coffee shop, post office, or restaurant). We couldn't have asked for a better space to celebrate the new year, and replenish ourselves in the solitude of nature and the warmth of the wood burning stove nightly. The small details that Marta put into the cabin inspired us in our getaway to explore the beauty of nature and the world, even sitting in silence in her beautiful space left us deeply cleansed. On our last day, we utilized the beautiful earthbag dome & meditation space on her property to close out our weekend - absolutely breathtaking.

    Phelicia2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, secluded spot, with ample room for our children to explore. The cabin is adorable, comfy beds, fully stocked kitchen and toasty wood stove. Marta was warm and helpful, showing me the nettles and lemon balm that we made into tea. Already planning our next trip. Lovely. Thank you!

    Danielle2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I rented Marta's cabin this past weekend, and had a wonderful time! Marta is a very attentive host, and even though she was out of town, was still incredibly responsive, and even checked in on us via text to make sure we were comfortable and to answer any questions. The cabin is adorable, and is stocked with everything you could possibly need for a weekend getaway. The location is beautiful, quiet, and totally peaceful. On the night we arrived, there was even a mamma and baby deer just chilling and grazing in the yard! I can't say enough positive things about Marta and the cabin-we had a truly amazing time there!

    Nicki2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house was nice with many amenities. As described it is a very simple house, being 100 years old, but it had everything we needed. Very beautiful property in the country. Vonna Lee was very communicative and helpful with a lot of tips on what to do and see. Only downside was the old windows couldn't be opened in the living room and main bedroom to get a fresh cross breeze. Very close to Freeland and Bayview, and Langley and Coupeville just a little further away. Lots of fun stuff to do on the island in the summer!

We brought along our two children and Vonna and her husband let us use the four wheelers they had and provided extra batteries. We got to see rabbits, deer and birds. The place was secluded on tons of acreage. We felt like home and we were sad we had to leave. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back!

The Air BnB is right off a golf course with a walking path to go on providing scenic views both on/off the path. We saw deer as well which made our trip memorable. My stay was unfortunately only 1 night and I wish I could have stayed longer after my arrival. I'll return for sure!

  • This is a very clean and cozy place. And nice restaurants and convenient stores are very close. I will recommemd you this place especially when you need a get-away place.

  • Stayed New Year’s Eve with my girlfriend, we wanted something relaxing as December had been a really busy month for both of us. Dorothy and Duncan were so kind and easy to work with, their home is beautiful and we had a great night, I would stay again in a second if we make another trip to Whidbey.

  • We loved staying here! It was clean, comfortable and we enjoyed the tranquil setting so much. Views from the bedroom were beautiful!

  • A very nice and quiet place to stay on a golf course. Tastefully done. Has all the comfort you you might want. One thing we missed in the listing is the fact that there was no stove in the kitchen. There is a refrigerator, microwave and a coffee maker. Dorothy and Duncan are there to help with whatever you might need. Great location. We enjoyed visiting nearby wineries, small towns like Langley and trying our hand at crabbing and clamming.

This sweet island getaway is on an 18 acre South Whidbey Island farm with a cozy living space, comfy beds, farmhouse kitchen, back deck with a view, and large yard. Central for shopping, wineries, restaurants, beaches, and walks in the woods.
This is old Seattle charm on rural Whidbey Island. The Front House is a 'Seattle freeway house'. It was one of many old homes moved from Seattle and barged to new locations around Puget Sound many years ago when the freeway was built. We live in the 'Back House' on this 18 acre property where we raise beef and enjoy a quiet life on Whidbey Island surrounded by tall trees, deer, eagles, hawks, birds, rabbits, raccoons, and coyotes sharing our space. The cows might be curious about your activities.
We are close to Freeland in a rural setting. We do have neighbors across the road. Honeymoon Bay Road below the house is busy at times, mostly during commuter hours. Freeland has great grocery and hardware stores, antique shops, restaurants, and wine tasting opportunities nearby. We love driving up the road to the Greenbank Store and Grille for great burgers and good beer. South Whidbey State Park and the Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens with beautiful walking trails are close by, and of course the beaches surround us. Spring through fall the wonderful weekend farmer's markets are within a few miles, and the island hosts various festivals all summer. The Island Athletic Club just a mile away has day rates for visitors, including a pool, but is closed Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings. There is a Lutheran church in Freeland, and many other options for worship on the south end of the island.
  • Ken and Cynthia were lovely hosts. Very friendly and accommodating. The house and yards are lovely and well equipped for a comfortable stay. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.

  • I highly recommend staying at Cynthia and Ken's place when visiting Whidbey Island! We were there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and when we arrived at the location, Cynthia came out to greet us and even wished him a Happy Birthday! I felt that small act of kindness was tremendously appreciated. The place was clean and had all the amenities we needed to cook and clean. On one of the afternoons, Ken came out to greet us and asked if we needed anything, we asked him if there was a store nearby because we wanted to purchase a football or frisbee around, a little while later, he came back out with a croquet set for us to play with! We really appreciated the small attentive things they did for us. Ken also came out to say goodbye when we left. They were both very quick to respond before the trip and even gave us suggestions in the area to check out. I told them I wanted to use their fire pit and they even set up all the chairs and provided us all the tools to light a fire as well as chopped up wood. They exceeded my expectations and I am so happy that I stayed at their property!

  • Cynthia provided great check-in information a day prior. We loved the great backyard space and the plum trees. We did help ourselves to a few delicious plums. Cynthia and Ken have thought through and delivered on what a guest would need. Great place to stay in the Island.

    Krishnan2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place is really nice and well furnished. The place was easy to find via GPS but Cynthia gave very good directions. The access to the beach is easy (a quick drive or a bit of a walk). The kitchen was very well equiped with utensils, pots and pans etc. There was also a Keurig machine with a great variety of coffee. The place has a really large backyard and our 1 year old loved running around. The yard has a fire pit and bbq. There was some firewood available as well. All in all, this place was sooooo much better than we had imagined. Cynthia and Ken are amazing hosts and were very accomodating of our baby. We would definately come back here.

  • Thumbs up! Very quaint, cozy and warm house with a lot of privacy. It's nice to be in a house that is separate from the "main" house. It was very clean and everything was in working order. There were amazing amenities, like Keurig coffee and even fresh local eggs. Bed was comfortable as hosts stated. Be warned, there is a strong sulfur odor to the water- there was a fresh Brita filter in the fridge but out can definitely smell the sulfur using the faucets. Also, some of the windows wouldn't open but Cynthia and Ken had put in some door screens and had fans available in the rooms in case we needed them. We will be coming back next year!

  • Cid and Kenny are the best hosts. Their farm is charming, location is great. The layout and decor of the cottage was ideal. It was a lovely home away from home. The beds were very comfortable, something I find is rare when I travel. It was a lovely 4 day stay. We saw deer, enjoyed watching the cows, and had a great base to explore Whidbey. I would definitely recommend this as a lovely place to stay.

    Shirley2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had a great time at Cynthia and Ken's Front House. It's a private, super cute and cozy home with a great location. Easy access to restaurants, beaches and wineries. Cynthia and Ken was were super helpful and responsive to any questions we had. They've got a fire pit, outdoor grill and a nice yard/deck to hang out on. The kitchen was nicely stocked with all basic cooking equipment and basic spices/condiments. I would totally rent this home again for a stay on Whidbey Island!

    Debbie2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time staying at the Honeymoon Bay house this weekend. It's a great spot with a wood fire stove, lots of cooking utensils, and extra items to make the stay really comfortable. Cynthia and Ken were very flexible and generous (they even left some waters and breakfast goodies in the fridge). It's clear that they want this place to feel like a home away from home. Thank you!

My place is close to the town of Langley (12 minute drive) where there is art and culture and family friendly activities, it is a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach and the closest grocery store in Freeland. You’ll love my place because it is clean and quiet, it's located in a private, park like setting, surrounded by forest. . My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
  • The studio was cozy and nestled in a quiet street surrounded by trees. Very peaceful and a couple minutes drive from downtown Langley and a beach! Robben and her husband are friendly and gracious. The studio has everything you could need, plus some menus of local restaurants and a guidebook of beaches and parks in the area with post it notes of Robben's reccomendations. There's no TV, but there is good WiFi, so come with a tablet or laptop if you like to watch shows and movies to unwind.

    Sue2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Robben was incredibly courteous and helpful, going above and beyond at every opportunity.

  • Clean and cozy! We comfortably fit four adults into the space and had an amazing weekend.

    Isabella2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous location with a beautiful space in the heart of the forest, yet close to Freeland on one side and Langley on the other. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place to stay. Robben and Pete were very friendly and offered up tips on places to eat and see. They were available by text if we needed anything! A gorgeous dog Gus lives on the property who loves chasing sticks but otherwise is very quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away staying here and will do again!

  • Our family of four really enjoyed our stay. The house was well kept and in a beautiful location. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. They offered suggestions of sites to visit, which were great. We would definitely stay again!

  • This place is awesome. This vacation place is a great retreat to disconnect from the loud, stressful and busy city life. The house in located in a beautiful PNW Forrest. There are plenty of things to do around, short driving distance, but what I really enjoyed walking up the street and listening to the sound of silence and nature. Beautiful experience, highly recommend.

The Writer's Refuge offers solitude to writers and other creatives who need to get away to focus on their work. Tucked into the woods, it’s a cozy place to write—especially when rain patters on the metal roof and a fire crackles in the wood stove.
The Writer's Refuge is a place where writers and other creatives can escape the distractions of everyday life and devote themselves fully to their work. This means single occupancy and the deliberate absence of amenities such as a television and DVD player. It also means the presence of supportive technologies such as Wi-Fi and a printer. The cabin looks like it sprouted out of the forest that surrounds it. Although it's 90 square feet bigger than Thoreau’s cabin on Walden Pond, it's small enough to hold you close and keep you focused on your writing. You'll be productive at the drop-front desk, which features Wi-Fi, a printer, and some office supplies; enjoy reading in the recliner by the warmth of a fire in the wood stove, nourish yourself well in the fully-equipped kitchen; and enjoy listening to the birds while writing in the Adirondack chair on the screened porch. For our coffee drinkers, we provide a Mr. Coffee brewer, filters and coffee grinder. You can bring your favorite beans and grind them fresh.
Nestled between the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges, and surrounded by the water of the Puget Sound, Whidbey Island offers inspiration to all kinds of artists who make it their home. The Foxglove Cabin is located on the south end of the Island, which is an artists community.
  • Thanks for a peaceful stay! Just what I needed to get my writing on track!

  • George was quite gracious and accommodating. The room was clean, the WiFi very good. Very small - less than 250 Sq. Ft. I couldn't find palace to set down my suitcase. Extensive collection of writing books. Very quite, except when dogs are barking. Excellent linens. Kitchen is quite limited.

    Steven2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This space allows serenity, creativity and focus at its finest. Not only is the cabin surrounded by lush views and pure sounds of nature, it is also equipped with detailed comforts. The bathroom towels were fluffy, the sheets soft, the down bed pillows offered a perfect perch to gaze out the window into the early morning woods. The screened in front porch offered some of my most productive moments, while the fire offered some of my most comforting. The town of Langley is friendly and a short drive with great food options, yet the kitchen was sufficient enough to allow eating during my entire stay. George was helpful and kind and takes great pride in this truly special retreat. You will appreciate his thoughtfulness. I wish I were still there - Thank you!

  • This place is great! I loved the (URL HIDDEN) was very (like very!) clean and had everything I needed. George was responsive and not invasive at all...And he gave me a great rec for a better local spot for coffee than where I was planning to go. The porch was so beautiful and the land very serene. You can tell the cabin was expertly crafted and very well maintained. It's located pretty far back off the road, wandering back into the deep forest. But Langley was a 10 min drive away, had a couple of good meals! The only thing I would say is that some blinds would have been nice, but I am a bit of a wuss about travelling alone, so that might not be an issue for other ppl. I tucked up into the bed nook and closed the bed curtains around me and was just fine. Would highly, highly recommend this place.

  • What a great place to get away and work! It was quiet and the work set up was great. Also, nice kitchette and one of the comfiest beds with the softest sheets and just right duvet. George and Marilee were the perfect hosts.

  • This is the third time I've stayed at the Foxglove Cabin. The last time was five years ago, and it was just as magical as I remembered it being. The cabin is nicely secluded in a beautiful wooded area and very conducive to the creative process. It's small, but that's perfect when all you're doing is typing and sleeping. It's great for those of us who love the outdoors, but also love hot water, electricity, and a comfortable bed. George is super friendly (as are his dogs) and provides a great environment for artists who need to get away and focus on a project.

    Jessica2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodations were exactly as described. The cabin was clean and comfortable and the perfect place to write. The directions there were perfect and I felt well prepared for the stay. I had the space and quiet I needed to get a good amount of writing done. And the surrounding area is extremely beautiful and tranquil. I hope to go back!

  • If you're a writer or creative, considering getting away to work your craft and you're considering The Writer's (URL HIDDEN) IT! It's hands down the best decision I've made as an artist. This place is special. Your art needs the sanctuary it provides. Being over 3000 miles away from home, alone, can be frightening. It was everything but. The hosts have done an amazing job creating a safe space for you to create. The town is full of inspiring scenery as well. If you're thinking about coming, DO IT! Elizabeth B. ~Orlando, Fl

  • My wife and I spent one night at Diane's. It was a lovely place to stay. Diane was great. The location was a short drive to Langley and a number of other locations on Whidbey Island. The bedroom was good sized and very comfortable. As described, we had the whole upstairs with the bedroom, another room to relax in and two bathrooms. Walking in the evening on the golf course is really nice on a warm evening with the views over the ocean and east. Highly recommend staying here.

  • We were in town for a friend's wedding during a very busy summer weekend. The upstairs suite is very large with all the amenities. Diane and Paul were lovely hosts. They were warm, welcoming, responsive, and very accommodating; we arrived way earlier than expected and Diane had the room ready for us well in advance of the advertised check in time. We'll definitely visit with them again!

  • Lovely, spacious, clean, comfortable and great location! Just a short drive from Langley, the ferry and all that Whidbey has to offer. The bedroom and living rooms are private, spacious, have lovely natural light and have been decorated perfectly! Wonderful neighborhood for taking a morning stroll around the golf course, and gorgeous water views. Diane is a great host, responded quickly to all inquiries and made our stay so lovely. The pups are the sweetest ☺We will stay here on our next trip to Whidbey without a doubt!

  • Great stay for our one night on Whidbey! Bedroom was huge and very private, and you also have access to a bonus extra room if you just want to chill out and watch tv. Diane was nice enough to call in advance to see if we needed anything special. They gave us recommendations for favorite places to eat in Langley! It's a good location for exploring the island- about 10 min to Langley and 20 to the Port Townsend ferry. Their dogs were also lovely and friendly! We would definitely stay again!

My partner and I needed a place to get some good rest before a long weekend, and Diane provided that for us. She suggested some great spots for dinner (Rocket Taco) and breakfast the next morning (Cafe in the woods). Both were great spots. Thanks again Diane!

Have you had your fill of the city? Do you need the pace to slow just long enough to catch your breath, to take in wider skies, and to fill your mind with a lot more quiet? A short drive from Seattle, and your un-wind begins with a ferry ride to the island. The farm sits above Useless Bay on the southwest side of Whidbey. From our porch, watch boats and kite surfers in the bay, bald eagles nest, and sunrises that will take your breath away.
You will settle into our 1903 farmhouse where a wrap-around porch and rows of windows set the stage for expansive views of the puget sound and Mt. Rainier. This house comfortably accommodates 10 guests. Each of the four bedrooms have one queen bed while two rooms are additionally outfitted with a bunk bed and a trundle bed. There are two small tables for dining in the kitchen and the dining room. There is one bathroom, equipped with bath and tub - it is simple but very functional. And finally, with three acres of beautiful outdoor space, you'll have ample room for kids and adults alike to explore and run off some energy.
The Farm at Double Bluff is a 10 minute car ride from the ferry dock in Clinton. Double Bluff Park, one of the most beautiful beaches in Washington, is a quick 2 mile drive from the property. The quaint towns of Langley and Freeland are within 8 miles and offer great restaurants, coffee shops, boutique shopping, and grocery options.
  • Absolutely loved our stay! The property is beautiful with amazing views and the house was very comfy and cozy. Thank you Ryan and Elaine!

  • We had the most lovely stay. The house was large and clean and well-equipped and there was tons of beds and even a crib for us to use! The setting can't be beat -- it's a huge property with total privacy and a gorgeous view of the water. I'm sure it would be a great place for all kinds of trips but if you're coming as a family with kids it's ideal. There was tons of space for the kids to play in the yard and run around the huge wrap-around porch. Communication with the hosts was easy and I recommend it all around!

    Alison2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Many thanks for a spectacular trip - the farm was magical! I can't imagine a better place to enjoy the end of a Pacific Northwest summer!

  • Absolutely exceeded our expectations. The house is clean, charming, and a perfect getaway. It was an amazing weekend for our family. It's difficult to feel refreshed after a weekend of traveling with little kids, but we actually do thanks to the setting, the well-maintained home and grounds, and communication. Thank you!!

  • As we drove up to the farm house, it was as quaint and charming as the pictures show. The landscaping alone shows it is well taken care of and really made the yard a place to wander, relax and enjoy nature. The views of the water and the privacy offered by being the last house on the road were well welcomed and we were literally minutes from Freeland which has a grocery store and other conveniences. The home itself has a charming character with the cozy feel of a great family gathering space down on the farm. From the creaky stairs to the hardwood floors, it was exactly the old-school farmhouse feel that I knew as a kid. Having a bonfire under the stars and seeing the international space station was a highlight. Overall, great space, quiet surroundings (with the exception of hundreds of frogs who croak you to sleep) and amazing wildlife abound made this farm a great escape!

    Brandon2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • My family that included 6 adults and 2 little ones gathered at the farm for Thanksgiving. The setting was simply lovely and the views of the water, mountains, and fields beautiful and serene. It was the perfect place to be together as a family. The indoor spaces were comfortable and spacious, the wrap- around porch simply wonderful for getting closer to the outdoors, even when it was raining out. We loved it at Ryan and Elaine’s.
