This magical experience starts in our meeting spot in our town Chemuyil, where we will get ready for our adventure. My town is located: -20-25 mins approx. from Tulum (downtown) -35-40 mins approx. from Playa del Carmen (downtown) -2 hrs. approx. from Cancun (downtown) If you don’t have a car, or don’t know how to get to this place, please feel free to contact me to get more recommendations on transportation you can use. This is a LOCAL EXPERIENCE. You will get to know, not only these cenotes that have seen us grow up, but places with a lot of meaning to us. We will ride on our bicycles through our hometown making our way to three different cenotes around our community. Physical wear with the bicycles is minimum. We spend most of the time in the water. Riding the bicycles will be, 20-25 mins(total). Distance from cenote to cenote is 5-10 mins. If you are looking for a fancy activity, something fast, big company tours, this is DEFINITELY NOT FOR YOU. Instead, if you want to experience our hometown, our cenotes, having adventures, talk to us, share stories and making new friends while getting to know about our project, then you have found the perfect experience for you. Join us for an intimate artisanal mezcal tasting & dinner pairing in our private jungle garden at our home in the center of Tulum Pueblo! Solo travelers, couples & friends are all welcome to our garden where we will prepare a 5-course dinner cooked on the fire paired with 1 ounce tastings of five artisanal, small-batch mezcals sourced from different regions around the country. Come experience the wonderful world of the honeybee where we encourage you to take pictures. We begin our 1 1/2 hour experience near Tampa, Florida. I have several different locations to choose from ranging from Farm to urban areas. The address showing will not be the place that you will have your experience. After you book I will send out the location. It will be either Lutz, Odessa, or S. Saint Petersburg. If you book first, I can be flexible as to location. We will begin with a demonstration of the equipment used in beekeeping as well as dressing up in our full bee suits and then immediately start the hands-on experience. At this point you will be able to see, feel, hear and touch apis mellifera (the European honey bee!) as I guide you to a better understanding of these amazing creatures. During our time together you will manipulate equipment, ask questions and get a practical appreciation of the bees. After, you will enjoy a refreshment while we discuss your recent experiences. Upon completion, we provide a 5 oz honey jar and honey dipper to say thank you for being a beekeper for a day! Things to note: PLEASE BRING BOOTS or Tennis shoes. In a beautiful Mexican-style house, surrounded by gardens, our Culinary Experience starts off with a brief, yet quite informative, introduction to the essential flavors and ingredients of Mexican cuisine We will also do a mezcal tasting so you can learn how to identify a good one! Then, moving on to the unique experience of preparing an authentic Mexican meal from scratch! We try to always use traditional utensils, like metate and molcajete, to have a real cooking experience. Many of the dishes you will learn and help cook come from my own family’s cookbook. By the end of the class, we sit down in one table to share the food and the experience itself! This all happens in an ambiance full of joy, music and laughter, recreating the sense of fellowship and warmth of cooking at home with friends.

Finally, we will enjoy tasting the different plates that we prepared and, in that moment, when we are laughing and sharing our personal stories under the rhythm of drums, you will realize that the simple act of eating assumes mystical dimensions and has the power to bring strangers together like family. At the end of the day you will know how flavors, music and dance tell the story of the desires and struggles of our African ancestors. From the hand of an experienced cigar roller we will learn to make an examplar, we will explain all the specificities that accompany the process of making this product, from the time it is grown, until it reaches your hands. This will be the perfect time for our CIGAR CHALLENGE, after which we will reward the best cigar roller of the experience. After choosing our winner (special ceremony included), we will go on to what we consider to be an authentic ritual: the smoking of the habano, action that we will combine with other delights, giving way to an excellent pairing among cigars, rum and coffee. And then, SURPRISE, a second contest!! We will be competing among each other to select the person who manages to keep the longest cigar ash, and the one who best performs some other tricks we will be teaching you. We offer many options in recreation at our camp house. Small or large gatherings, it is your choice. We will celebrate your special moment with your friends, family or colleagues at the farm while we have a lot of fun. During these 4.5 hours we will play the music of your choice, serve non alcoholic drinks, walk with the farm animals as you take videos and pictures, then come back for lunch or dinner, dance, and enjoy dessert. Because these are private sessions, we are flexible with the start and end time. Option: Our Airbnb Stay can host up to 30 people if you would like to spend the night. Join the author of the book "Ghosts of Galveston" for a walk through Galveston's historic Strand Street as she shares stories of some of the island's most famous ghosts. Spirits of Civil War soldiers, 1900 Storm victims and even a murderess dwell in the buildings and along the street, never quite able or willing to depart from their beloved Galveston. We'll be walking at a leisurely pace, taking time to see if you can capture photos of ghosts through windows and on the street like so many have before. But don't be surprised if someone unseen tugs on your sleeve, or you feel a chill on this winter night...it's just their way of saying "hello." Your host is Kathleen Maca, the author of "Galveston's Broadway Cemeteries," "Ghosts of Galveston," "Ghostly Tales of Galveston" and "A History of the Hotel Galvez." A local historian and writer, she has spent over 45 years researching historic cemeteries and folklore. We'll meet in front of the Shearn Moody Plaza Building (home of the Galveston Railroad Museum) at the intersection of 25th and Strand. Please note: Please wear comfortable walking shoes. On our tour we'll concentrate on one of the seven cemeteries in the complex that features some of the most beautiful statuary and fascinating history of its era.
