  • Our extended family decided to spend time together as our Christmas gift to each other and chose this lovely lake house in St. Paul, Minnesota area for the last week in June. Situated with a beautiful lake view, the house was perfect for our needs. We each had our privacy with four bedrooms (3, with an office fitted with an air mattress), a large deck, an outdoor fire pit area, and the most spectacular amenity -- the six-person hot tub. All the gathering places in the house were well decorated, large, and functional. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the living room had plenty of seating suitable for family time together. The area has much to offer in the way of entertainment, but staying in and enjoying the peacefulness of this house was a plus, too. Easy access to sightseeing, local grocery stores, and plenty of eateries in the area, plus the convenience of a nearby interstate made it easy to explore both St. Paul and Minneapolis. Of course, we always enjoyed returning home each day to a fire, a soak in the hot tub, or a gathering on the deck. This was a well-appointed and honestly represented rental. Steve could not have been more helpful, hospitable, or gracious. I highly recommend this property to others.

  • Steve's place was awesome! He had everything we could have needed and more! We all definitely wished we could have stayed longer !

  • The host gave us a great list of instructions for the house and stocked the house with all the kitchen appliances we needed. The house was beautiful, secluded, and fit the description perfectly. The lake was very peaceful and we had such a great time with our family during our stay

  • Beautiful place with an amazing location. We very much enjoyed our stay at Steve's house!

  • Steve's house is beautiful. It came with all of the necessary amenities and then some. Steve also allowed us to check in early and was extremely helpful with all of our questions.

  • Steve has an awesome place. Plenty of room. Fantastic amenities. Highly recommended.

    Craig2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Steve's home was very clean, spacious, and cozy. Exactly as described in the listing. The big hot tub overlooking the lake was definitely our favorite part! My partner and I went here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, and we couldn't have picked a better spot!

  • Steve's house was beautiful and amazing. Everything was perfect and ready to go when we got there. We had ZERO complaints about anything. Wished we could have stayed longer!

Interested in something that is not "run of the mill"? Look no further... The Manor was built in 1883 and moved to this location in 1884. Voted the most mysterious house in Saint Paul by the Pioneer Press many years back it has proven to be true. The place has a large enclosed courtyard with a fire pit, a picnic area, and off street parking. We are close to both downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis, it is 10 miles from MSP International Airport. Quaint and charming are some of the words used to describe this unique place. We have a wonderful and friendly doberman named Scorch. A majority of the house has been refinished and decorated with with oddities and antiques. My friends say it will always be under construction but I am happy to say that the majority of the house is complete. We also book for day time events like photo/video shoots, paranormal investigations, ceremonies, rituals etc. There will be an additional cost and security deposit.

  • Wonderful place, comfy bed, friendly hosts. We had a good stay and would recommend this to anyone!

    Bob2013-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Scorch and Sean are great hosts. We love the property and can't wait till spring and when the twisted sisters are in bloom. Sean was good with our little change in our check in time. We loved hearing about the history and how Sean became the caretaker of The Manor. Being a St Paul kid we could talk for hours on my home town. Yeah I think this summer out by the fire would be great. The room was a great space. Growing up in an old house I felt so at home with some of the creeks and moans.

    Chris2014-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • My first AirBnB experience and it was great! Sean is accommodating, and even checked in when I ended up staying at a friend's place! I didn't get a chance to say thanks, so thanks Sean! Also, the place's design is a little funny but not in any way that detracts from its comfort. I just don't understand if there's a logic to leather door frames! But hey, it's far more interesting than most places you'll stay!

    Antonio2013-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • It was great to stay an additional night at The Manor. This time I stayed in the master bedroom. Nice and clean, quiet and comfortable. Definitely recommended!

    Dave2014-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed recently with Sean and Scorch for 6 days. First, Sean and Scorch greeted me at the gate, helped me carry my bags upstairs, showed me around the house, and made me feel very welcome. Sean clearly loves the history of this unique property and wants to tell its story. I found the decorating to be interesting and very eclectic, Many of the items in his home have their own story from the animal busts to the woodwork. I really support his enthusiasm for repurposing everything he can. A downed tree was turned into window framing, bricks from the fireplace are an archway in the basement. The house is under construction yet he manages to keep it very clean. Sean is a great guy - someone I found interesting to talk to and could see myself befriending . Scorch, the lady of the house, and I got along extremely well. She even came to check on me the first night when she heard a strange man's voice in my room (I had my husband on speakerphone for the first time during my stay). I stayed in the master bedroom. The room is very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Best of all, the layout of the house, sturdiness, and extra insulation Sean's added mean that the room is very quiet. I couldn't hear Sean or the other guest. There was a window air conditioner for which I was extremely thankful during my stay. The bathroom is gigantic with a double shower and a jet tub (that I was unable to use). There is also a sitting room with a television set that I plan to use more during my next fall visit. (The sitting room is not air conditioned). I will be staying here regularly over the next four years as I pursue my legal education. It had everything I needed!

    Tiffany2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place! Don't let the exterior pic fool you into thinking it's some kind of creepy old mini-castle. Over the past few years, Sean has taken an older home and -- with his own bare hands and a mind for repurposing available materials -- upgraded/modernized it in extremely creative ways and with superior attention to detail. I left his place thinking, "I could live there." Sean is certainly no newcomer to Airbnb hosting -- gave me a comprehensive tour of the place upon my arrival, and provided all a guest on travel could want during my stay. The world needs more people like Sean, and more places like "The Manor." Oh, and his dog Scorch is as friendly as "man's best friend" comes!

    Curt2015-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, Gary and I were planning on attending the Minneapolis Irishfest and were looking at a place close by. We found it! Sean is a wonderful host. The remodeled room up the winding staircase is beautiful. Sean did a great job at this awesome renovation. If you are looking for tranquility - you can find it here. Scorch (Sean's dog) is a great gate keepr and very friendly! Location is nearby St. Paul and Minneapolis and most everything you can think of is close by. Good luck with the rest of the house renovations! Mindy and Gary

This third-floor studio apartment with a woodsy feel and loft has all the privacy you need for a Twin Cities get-away weekend. As it is only four blocks from the Blue Line Metro, it has all of the downtown/airport accessibility for business and easy transfers to the Green Line Metro that runs to St. Paul and the University of Minnesota. The studio has a bathroom and a kitchenette with a refrigerator, sink, microwave (no stove). The studio space has two queen beds in different nooks.
Our space has two queen beds, a full bath, and a common space with a couch, sitting area and wood-burning stove, table and chairs, and a kitchenette. For breakfast, the Pow-Wow Cafe is right around the corner and the fabulous Maria's Cafe is right down the street. The space also has a fridge, sink, microwave, Keurig, hot pot, and panini maker (note: there is no stove/oven). In the summer, our home has AC units in the windows and a ceiling fan overhead. In the winter, the unit has forced air and a wood-burning stove. We are glad to provide a heating blanket to those who would like one. We have free parking on the street, but no reserved parking spots on the property. For the comfort of our guests, the queen mattresses have a 100% hypoallergenic, waterproof mattress protector covers.
There is plenty to do in the Minneapolis metro area, and our place is just .75 miles from downtown, including the Viking's Stadium, Gold Medal Park, and the Guthrie Theatre. We are 1.2 miles from the Minneapolis Convention Center and favorites such as Global Market and the Midtown Greenway. Lake Calhoun, Lake of the Isles, Lake Harriet, and Minnehaha Falls are just five miles away to the southwest and southeast of us. If you are coming to the cities for a gastronomic adventure, Hell's Kitchen, Matt's Bar (for the Juicy Lucy burger) or Fogo de Chao for a fancy dinner are just a short drive away. A note about our urban, ethnic neighborhood: we do live in the city center which means that our neighborhood is busy and very varied: our home is near bus lines, public spaces like parks, coffee shops, non-profit offices, other large old Victorian homes, government buildings, apartment complexes, health clinics, and the many different types of people traveling through the neighborhood on a daily basis. Urban city life is densely populated, so you will want to exercise city-smarts and common sense when traveling out late at night from our place. If that makes you uncomfortable, you might prefer to stay in one of the quieter neighborhoods outside the city center like Nokomis or Eden Prairie, White Bear, St. Louis Park, Plymouth, or Longfellow. We, however, love the energy of the city of Minneapolis. One of our favorite pluses of living in Minneapolis's city center in the Ventura Village neighborhood is the fact that we enjoy a huge diversity of neighbors from all parts of the world and with it the customs, the dress, the food, and vivacity that they all bring to Minneapolis.
  • What a fabulous space! Zach was so friendly and communicative, even though he and Betsy were out of town when we stayed. Our plans kept changing, and at the last minute we asked if it would be all right to come drop things off early. Zach not only accommodated that request - they even managed to change the room early for us so we could go ahead and "check in"! The bed was very comfy, and the loft is spacious but cozy and well-appointed. We would definitely recommend this place, and we felt it was great value.

    Laura2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved this place. Zach and Betsy are so friendly and helpful, and the place was perfect. Very cute place right in the middle of the city. Couldn't have asked for more!

  • Zach and Betsy were wonderful hosts in every way! Though we did not get the chance to meet them, they helped us feel right at home. They gave us clear instructions on how to get in, and left great information about the neighborhood in the space. The apartment was even better than we expected- we loved relaxing on the deck before going to a concert at First Avenue, which was a nice 30 minute walk from the apartment. Zach and Betsy were very helpful when we considered renting bikes for the afternoon, and responded quickly to my messages about where to find helmets in the house. The space was clean, comfortable, and a great place to just hang out. Our only complaint is that our stay was only for one night! Thanks Zach and Besty for opening your beautiful home to us!

  • All around lovely place- quiet and perfect for a cozy vacation.

    Ashlyn2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Zach & Betsy's tree-top is an oasis! Very beautiful place not too far from downtown Minneapolis. It has a beautiful touch of a log cabin feel with the way it's built and the outdoor patio is a dream. I'd highly recommend staying here even if it's just for a night!

    Alex2016-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Zach and Betsy are outstanding hosts. They were most attentive yet never intrusive. They did all they could to make our stay pleasant, including extras to accommodate our longer-than-usual stay.

    David2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Zach and Betsy's place was the nicest airbnb we have ever stayed in, and it far exceeded our expectations. The space was beyond beautiful, peaceful, and charming. There were books to reads, and plenty of information on local attractions. There is a wonderful balcony, and even a functioning wood stove. It is not in a neighborhood you would necessarily want to walk around in at night, but that wasn't an issue for us. We look forward to staying with Zach and Betsy again soon!

  • I had a fantastic time at Colin's place. It's in a very accessible part of the city and was easy to find. The room was comfy, and had enough space for my clothes and things for the week. It was warm and well insulated, which was especially important for the cold November days we were there. The bathroom was spacious, and had a great claw foot tub. There were plenty of amazing and affordable places to eat within a short walk, and a few cool local shops. Downtown was a quick walk or bus ride away, and the local Minneapolis Institute of Art was a great diversion for a few hours as well. I'd highly recommend staying here when you visit Minneapolis!

  • This cozy and comfortable apartment has a lot of character and made for a lovely experience in Minneapolis. The space is clean and well-designed. Colin goes out of his way to ensure guests have all the amenities they might need for their stay. He was responsive, helpful and flexible with the reservation. I appreciated the packet with background on the house, information about the area and the city, to include a few great restaurant recommendations nearby. This apartment made my business trip a more enjoyable and unique experience. Highly recommend it!

    Lydia2015-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Colin and Lisa were very friendly. This place was everything that we needed. The back yard is really nice as well. We had our 16 month old with us and everything met our needs. Thanks again!

  • Everything was neat and tidy. The apartment is close to Downtown and very accessible. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Colin gave clear instructions and made finding the place, parking and settling in very easy. The location was awesome and we very much enjoyed the dinning recommendations. I would highly recommend it and look forward to the possibility of staying again the next time I am in the Twin Cities.

Formerly a 1902 grocery store, this is one of the most unique private homes in Minneapolis. Located in the heart of the Arts District, close to downtown, and walkable to the best cafes, restaurants and breweries. The space is sunny and bright, and there is an eclectic selection of books and art throughout the house. Quirky, comfortable, and stylish — this is your home away from home in Minneapolis! Check out the first floor apartment here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16704400?preview
Welcome to Northeast Minneapolis! You'll be staying in your own private apartment -- the entire second level of what used to be a corner grocery store. Built in 1902, the space is unique, comfortable, and filled with thoughtful touches, yet retains its historic and charming character. Located near downtown, the U of M, and the Mississippi river. Enjoy the spacious, open layout, take advantage of the beautiful private backyard, and explore the neighborhood! Upon arrival, you can let yourself in with the keypad lock -- we'll provide the code when you book. Head up the stairs, and you'll be right inside the open and light-filled living room, where there's a large sofa, chaise lounge, and our handmade coffee/end tables. In the adjoining den, there is a desk, a sofa, and a flat screen TV with cable, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. The bedroom is small but cozy, with plenty of room to hang up your clothes, and a super comfortable queen-sized memory-foam mattress with lots of pillows and a down comforter. There are bedside tables with lamps and outlets for your phones. In the mornings, brew some locally roasted coffee beans or tea (we provide both) in the sunny kitchen, which has everything you need to cook up a storm -- convection oven and gas range, large fridge, pots/pans/utensils/dishes, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster, plenty of counter space, good knives, and a concrete rolling island. Have breakfast outside on the deck among the treetops overlooking the large, wildflower-filled private backyard, where, later in the day, you might decide to have a barbecue, or to sit around the fire pit on a starry night with a drink. The apartment will sleep five people, but is most comfortable with two or three. In addition to the main bed, we provide an 18" high, auto-inflate air mattress with its own linens and comforter, which is comfortable and sleeps two people. There is a very comfortable sofa, too. Your host, Pete, lives on the property, and is typically close by whenever you might need anything! I'm always happy to meet and spend time giving you a tour, or recommendations.

  • Where to start! The corner store is the most fabulous place we have stayed in. It's bright, comfy, and has everything you would ever need for a perfect stay. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, and the coffee and tea were such a nice touch. Me and my husband had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to stay again. Peter and Kathryn are such welcoming and friendly people, and the neighbourhood is stunning. Thanks :)

  • This place is great! Very private but Katherine and Peter are right below if you need anything. They were very considerate of my specific needs. The guide book they created is AWESOME! Wonderful recommendations of restaurants and coffee shops in the neighborhood. I wish I had more free time to hang out in the apartment because it's so comfortable and cozy!

    Julie2016-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is totally lovely. Clean, comfortable bed, excellent hot water with lots of pressure in the shower, super helpful hosts, in a great location. Birds chirping in the morning as sunshine filtered through the white curtains. Safe, quiet, all the things in a kitchen you might need to make a feast, excellent entertainment area to watch movies, lots of cool books to read. I loved it!

    Sara2015-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Peter and Kathryn were great communicators during the duration of our visit. Due to our busy schedules we were unable to meet but they were responsive to any questions we had. The neighborhood was quiet but, central allowing us to see the river, shops and great restaurants Minneapolis has to offer. I enjoyed early morning yoga on their deck and delicious local coffee provided. Their interior was beautifully decorated and comfortable. I would highly recommend their airbnb to families, couples or a group of friends.

  • We LOVED staying here! Very nice location! The place itself is so beautiful and functional. The kitchen is perfect! The flat has so much natural light! We slept so well and so enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back! Peter and Kathryn were wonderful hosts and were incredibly helpful with any questions I had for them. It is always nice that there is parking available, especially in the city. Quiet street, beautiful set up!

    Elizabeth2015-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! Very cozy and spacious. Kathryn and Peter were both quick to respond and very friendly. My one suggestion for those who sleep best in utter darkness is to bring an eye mask. The room stays light throughout the night because of some nearby street lamps. All in all, an awesome stay!

    Katie2015-04-05T00:00:00Z

The backyard is beautiful and we enjoyed it every morning with our breakfast and coffee. We strongly recommend this place if you plan on visiting Minneapolis. It is closed to highway, but quiet enough that you won't notice it. It is only minutes away from downtown Minneapolis. Please help Dennie and Kevin to keep their house nice and clean.

  • Mike was such a great host! He made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we walked in the door to the last tearful good-byes. The wagon was quaint, unique, and very colourful. You can tell that Mike loves it a lot- we do too! When we come back to Minneapolis, we will definitely put Mike on our list of people to see- that is if we cannot get back into the wagon.

  • As many others have said, you could not find a warmer or more hospitable host than Mike if you tried. Our stay was short but we did get to visit with Mike and he was very gracious and kind. The bathroom was clean and easily accessible. The space was surprisingly very comfortable, and my husband and I are both tall people with bodies built from a Midwestern diet. Mike was especially forgiving with a snafu where we locked the wrong access door late in the evening. We would recommend this space to anyone looking for a fun adventure or anyone wanting to meet a wonderful human being.

  • The caravan is beautiful, Mike's a great host. The neighborhood is quaint (lots of old Victorian houses) and has places open late. It'd be a great place to have a retreat, as it's such a relaxing environment; we were there for a college reunion of sorts, which left us meandering about Minneapolis at all hours. The caravan was a good retreat from the non-stop socializing. So glad we found him on AirBnb!

  • We had an awesome stay. Very welcoming and funny, and also cared and made sure everything was up to our standards. Definitely will consider booking again when I plan to come back to Minneapolis, and offer other people to look into staying here if you enjoy a simple, small, sleeping space and nothing more.

  • I loved the Gypsy Wagon experience and Mike was such a kind and helpful host. When looking for a place to just spend one night in Minneapolis, my friend and I came upon the listing for the Gypsy Wagon. Coincidentally, she had been reading about small space living, and I love anything different, so we said yes to booking the wagon for the night. We arrived after 8pm and Mike had the bed all set up for us and showed us around and also gave us recommendations and directions for finding something to eat that night. We ended up on Eat Street - a street full of interesting food choices - that is minutes away by car. I can't say enough how nice Mike was to us. The wagon itself is a treasure. Someone described it as backyard camping and I would agree except camping doesn't usually come with a wifi connection and electricity for lights and charging devices. I had one of my best sleeps in recent days under a thick, warm quilt on a cool summer night. I only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the wagon and the wild and wonderful garden in which it is set. I have already recommended the wagon to friends and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in doing something a little bit different. Hope to come back again!

  • Mike was a fun host. He greeted and welcomed us to his home which was very unique and wonderful. The garden setting for the Gypsy wagon was charming, so many whimsical touches and colorful flowers. The wagon itself was amazing, with charming details everywhere. It was compact, yet space for everything. The bed was very comfortable. The location was nice also, close to everything. We had a great time.

  • Mike's backyard wagon was enchanting to say the least. Mike was extremely hospitable, he made us feel right at home in an unfamiliar city. Highly recommend this gem.

  • Eric was a perfect host; he left clear instructions for arrival, was there to offer us a warm welcome, provided great recommendations, and had a lovely, cozy home right on the lake. He even made us delicious molasses cookies and had coffee waiting when we woke. We couldn't have asked for a better locations - close enough to Duluth, but also just a short drive to Gooseberry, Split Rock Lighthouse, and Two Harbors. The room was overlooked a quiet forest with many animal visitors. I can't remember the last time I had such a quiet, dark, restful sleep.

  • Eric is the best! He's a very welcoming host, his cabin is so cozy, and the location is amazing with Lake Superior right in the backyard.

    Robyn2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Eric's home is warm and open. Amidst woods, across from the Lake--I enjoyed the solitude, as well as conversations with Eric--a fellow artist and friendly person. I was comfortable cooking in his kitchen. I was lucky to have both sunshine and a thunder storm -- I could hear the lake from my bedroom. The only reason I checked that the place met my expectations, rather than exceed them, is that I expected it to be as lovely as it is. A wonderful space for contemplation.

    sandy2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here gave great energy and privacy. The location is amazing and Eric is great with communication and his home is beautiful. 10/10 would recommend this space if you want nice seclusion, enjoy the beauty of nature and a great host!

  • Eric is a great host. The location is perfect. Just outside Duluth and amidst an amazing landscape. The house is like a cabin, and super cozy. Eric's warmth also makes the stay wonderful. I hope to stay again!

    Ben2016-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Eric warmly welcomed us into his beautiful home and we had a wonderful and relaxing time. Being cat people, we loved his cat, Tawny. Eric generously offered us a handmade cat toy to bring home after he found out we had two cats. We were only able to stay one night, but Eric suggested many places to explore in Duluth. In the morning, we had a cup of tea and great conversation with Eric before we had to leave. The location is absolutely perfect. Located directly across from the shore, we found ourselves in a quiet and peaceful part of the Duluth area. There is a porch on the top of the house to look over the water, and you will find people surfing right off the beach (year round). Wildlife is abundant and can be seen right outside the bedroom. We only have good things to say about our visit. Our only regret is that we were unable to stay longer.

    Ally2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • I very much enjoyed my trip to Eric's little chunk of Paradise!! I would highly recommend staying here. Eric was an excellent host. Engaging in wonderful, insightful conversation but never intruding on my space or quiet time. This was my first AirBnb experience but, based on this weekend, certainly not my last. I look forward to getting back to Eric's this summer with my kayak!! Thanks, Eric - you saved Christmas!!!

  • The home is beautiful along with the property. Staying right by the shore and being able to see the sunset on the lake is absolutely gorgeous. It's important that you are able to stay in a comfortable environment when out of town and this house is perfect for that.

  • ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SPACE! We had such a relaxing time sitting in the cozy living room listening to music. Doug is a amazing host, he left us with clear instruction about how to work all the appliances. Thank you for everything Doug!

  • Truly the art of zen at this home. Spectacularly serene and peaceful to the point that I almost did not want to venture out. This home is worth every penny of the experience and how I wish we could have stayed longer. Did not get a chance to meet the host but we met Simone and she was amazingly a beautiful spirit. This is definitely in my top three places I have explored / experienced on airbnb. We graciously thank the host for allowing us to stay in his home. We want to come back and visit for a few days.

    Vincent2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Doug's home was exactly what I needed for my stay — it was welcoming, clean, and relaxing — just as described. The layout of the home lives up to the description; it is truly unique and that was part of the charm. The owner's artistic and spiritual nature exudes itself throughout his home. It is a tranquil setting in the heart of the city and the large trees that surround the lot make you forget that you are just off a busy street. Doug takes many steps to make you feel welcome. Lights were left on and instructions on how to operate things such as the TVs and espresso machine were detailed and left out. I truly felt welcome. The neighborhood is close enough to various amenities like restaurants, but yet is in a quiet neighborhood filled with tree-lined streets. I enjoyed a walk around the neighborhood during my stay. I highly recommend this listing.

  • Our second time here and once again appreciated how your personal sense of the sacred and beauty infused your space. A lovely retreat for us!

  • Douglas's home is fantastic in more ways than one. The pictures simply cannot do it justice. The space is unique, cozy, inviting, and all-around impressive. Douglas was a top-notch host. Check in/check out was incredibly simple and Douglas provided excellent information for us about his home and the neighborhood. We felt like we were stepping into the home of a longtime friend. I would recommend Douglas's house to anyone and everyone. You can feel the energy of the space as soon as you walk through the door. Although we only stayed for a evening, I would recommend the space for long term rentals as well. We found the area to be extremely convenient, far enough away from the city to enjoy some quiet, but also close enough that you're only minutes away from almost anywhere you'd want to go. I look forward to contacting Douglas for future stays in his immaculate home.

  • Excellent place, everything was well communicated and exactly as described. Near everything, yet an extremely beautiful, clean, quiet, serene place tucked away in the trees.

  • Douglas' home proved to be a lovely retreat in the city. The house is centrally located and easily accessible to both downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. The St. Anthony neighborhood provides tremendous urban beauty with parks, tall old trees, and many places to walk to. The house is stunning, unique, and beautifully appointed. We will be staying again next week.

Beautiful, remodeled Victorian home with dock, mature trees and the Mississippi river in the backyard. "Country in the city", in the famous Minneapolis arts district, close to downtown. Doors from 4 restaurants and coffee shop. NiceRide bikes a couple blocks away.
One of a kind 1880's Victorian house with a modern addition, modern kitchen, and three modular bedrooms. The solarium has floor to ceiling windows to view the Mississippi and a beautiful yard with majestic trees and stairway leading to the river. Enjoy the river in spring, summer or fall, or gather around a wood burning fireplace and take in winter views of the river. Note: this is "country in the city"- there are many trees and the river, but there is also a metal recycling business across the river which can be heard in our yard. Inside the house this is barely noticeable.
Minneapolis recently gained national recognition for its famous arts district in North East. We live in the heart of that district. We are just 10 minutes by car from downtown, or 20 minutes along the river bike path. Downtown: Visit the famous Walker Art Center, Guthrie Theater, First Avenue music club, The Twins, Vikings and Timberwolves stadiums, Children's Theater, Children's Science Museum st paul, Children's History Museum. We've had several guests who've visited Prince's Paisley Park in Shakopee and First Avenue where Purple Rain was filmed. Local parks, bike paths and playgrounds. Light rail or taxi to the airport or Mall of America. The U of M is 15 minutes by car. Our local neighborhood is growing fast. Two new restaurants opened within a couple blocks. Dine on the new ferris wheel at Betty Danger's overlooking the Lowry bridge, or check out Pyscho Suzi's tiki deck overlooking the river. There are also several Brew Pubs in the neighborhood with original local brews.
  • The Good: Very nice place in a great location, right in the heart of NE close to the bars. Nicely furnished with a modern theme. Back of the unit (solarium) was a bit cold, but the wood fireplace and firewood provided solved that. Also, they have one of the best Wi-Fi passwords ever.. That should probably remain a secret though. The Bad: This is NOT a "House" and "Entire home/apt" as the property type and room type state; it is a duplex and only half of the house. Therefore, it is also not very good place for events, despite what the description also says. The story: I rented this place to have a few drinks with some friends before going downtown for my birthday, which I okayed with the hosts before being approved by them. Around 11:30 before leaving for the bars, I got an email from the hosts saying that they had received a noise complaint from the other tenant living upstairs in the unmentioned 2nd part of the duplex. I emailed them back immediately, apologizing and saying we would turn the music down. And literally 5 minutes later, the hosts were standing in the living room and told me and my friends all to leave. This is not "respecting your privacy", this is entering unannounced into a home that I paid $253 to rent for the night. However, I apologized again and told them I was unaware that it was a duplex instead of a full house as it was listed. The host proceeded to call me a liar, said that I should have read the "terms and conditions" of what legally constitutes a "full home", and complained about where I parked (in the driveway and not obstructing any other vehicles), among other things. My guests and I cleaned up, left, and did not return because we did not feel welcome. The hosts even emailed me later asking how many guests had stayed overnight, probably in an attempt to try and charge me more money. I know part of this bad experience is my fault, for trying to entertain guests in someone else's space on my birthday and for being a newcomer to Airbnb (this was my first rental). In my opinion, a larger part of this is the host's and Airbnb's fault for inaccurately listing and advertising the rental property as a "house" and a "full home" that's good for events when that is not accurate whatsoever. Some more understanding from the hosts would have been appreciated, especially when I made it clear to them that this was my first time using Airbnb.

    Eric2017-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos. Such impeccable design, kind and thoughtful hosts, and such a peaceful place to take in gorgeous river sunsets. Also, the house has some very fascinating history that the hosts shared with us in their wonderful welcome letter. They were also very kind about letting us enjoy playing their beautiful piano. They even had the softest toilet tissue in the world (haha, it's the little things!) Would definitely rent again and recommend it highly. Thank you, Isabelle and Philip, for allowing us such a magical experience.

  • Really nice place for anyone with an eye for design. Full of interesting art and music, and fun activities all around.

    Brian2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • we arrived early but Phillip was very kind, showed us around his home, house is a unique combination of old house with electic style, only drawback is no freezer not that we really needed it but perhaps in the summer months might want some ice cream. Wood stove makes the home comfy and warm. Right on the river, good location. Phillip had good suggestions of nearby attractions and restaurants. Definitely recommend this home if visiting Minneapolis.

The neighborhood is in NE and is awesome, within walking distance to Betty Danger's, Psycho Suzie's and Sampler Room. Also it is right on the river. The house was awesome too. Clean and lots of space. Phillip check in on us and was really nice and friendly.

2300 square foot authentic Loft with high ceilings on the top floor of the building is immaculately clean, safe, and steps (literally) away from Target Field, Target Center, downtown nightlife, and the Light Rail train. 24/7 free parking behind the building. Make this your Minneapolis hub today!
Beautiful historic wood beams, solid wood floors, and has the historic elevator shaft from the original building built in the early 1900s. The loft has air conditioning, stainless steel appliances, and washer and dryer for your use. Two 100" projectors with Apple TV. There is a queen sized wooden sleigh bed amidst the middle of the loft along with a day bed which has a full sized mattress. Another queen bed in the old elevator shaft. Plenty of pillows and blankets for your use! Turn on the accent lights, put some chill music on the stereo or pour a cocktail and sit at the table to enjoy the sunset over the stadium while taking in the sounds of downtown... Simply awesome!
With the Twins stadium literally being next door, when the Twins hit a home run you can clearly hear it! Every home run scored follows with a mini firework show! There are also many great local bars and clubs in 5-10 minute walking distance from the entrance to the Crane building. The Mississippi river is also walking distance away from the loft if you enjoy taking scenic strolls on the many paths around the area that capture the beautiful scenery. Boom Island, Saint Anthony Main Street are among two of my personal favorite areas to enjoy the outdoors. Target, Whole Foods, Lunds, and many other convenience stores are very close as well in case you have forgotten any items at home or would like to get some grocery food. The loft is so centrally located, areas such as The North Loop, Warehouse District, and North East are bordering it. Each area has unique sights, bars, and activities for you and your stay!
  • Ben is a great host. He shows a tremendous amount of care and support. The space is fun and unique. The only thing holding it back from being stellar is the bass music from the club downstairs. It's bad. Real bad. Unless you are a night owl, this is not the place for you on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Even still, we loved it and are happy to recommend it.

  • I stayed at this beautiful loft the night before and the night of my wedding, and all of my bridesmaids got ready there with me, my makeup artist, and my photographer. I‎t was the absolute perfect place to get ready, get some great photos, and have some fun. The best part of the stay was the host. He was incredibly accommodating, thoughtful, and kind. He was extremely responsive and had fresh flowers, snacks, emergency items, and drinks waiting for us when we arrived. Truly a gem of a place!

This 1929 Craftsman bungalow Duplex sits just blocks from the Mississippi River in Minneapolis' pristine Longfellow neighborhood. At 2000 ft.² this house packs a big punch with 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and an upstairs den.
In 1855 Henry Wadsworth Longfellow published his epic poem "The song of Hiawatha" about the Native American hero who unified the Iroquois Tribes and fell in love with the beautiful Minnehaha. Many of the bodies of water, landmarks and thoroughfares in our quiet, pristine neighborhood along the banks of the Mississippi River bear the names of Longfellow's heroes, and the neighborhood itself is named after that great Romantic, the preeminent American writer of his time. The house: a sprawling 1929 double Bungalow Duplex has three bedrooms, two full baths, and a separate upstairs den. The Interior design of the house has an eclectic, multicultural theme, featuring many unique pieces brought back from mine and my family's travels in South America, Europe, and North Africa, as well as a Native American tapestry and other art. All of the amenities are present: air-conditioning cable/Wi-Fi and a fully stocked kitchen. This property is comfortable, unique and family- friendly with indoor and outdoor spaces that make sense for long and short term living in all four seasons.
Minneapolis' pristine Longfellow neighborhood, coveted for its access to the Mississippi river trails and its proximity to St. Paul offers tree-lined streets, beautifully maintained homes, and easy access to shops, restaurants, and supermarkets. Convenience and comfort define your stay in Longfellow.
  • We felt right at home! The listing was very accurate, plenty of space. Great location! We didn't have any problems during our stay but Al was always quick to respond, I wouldn't have worried if something did come up. Had trouble getting the front door to open at first, it's an old lock so you might need to jiggle the key a little.

  • Al has been very quick at responding to questions we had about his home. The neighborhood is only 7 miles from the airport but in a pretty treed area near the Mississippi River. Bikes were listed but only 2 were available for adults with one helmet only. We were 6 coffee drinkers and would have liked a microwave in the kitchen. Otherwise it was quite complete. The rooms do look much larger in the photos than they actually are but the house provided enough room for 6 people. Some reviews commented on comfortable beds. We found them to be uncomfortable and in need of good mattresses. Enjoyed the decor and neighborhood restaurants.

    Martha2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Al's place. It was tidy and welcoming when we arrived. It had great amenities and plenty of space for my crew. Would definitely book again!

  • Check in could not have been easier, and the location was perfect for me a great first time using airbnb

  • We loved our stay here! This place is absolutely perfect. Great neighborhood. Quiet, safe, and plenty to do. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. The home itself is charming with plenty of space and character. On street parking was not a problem. Our favorite thing in the area was Minnehaha Park. We viewed the falls and walked the trails, then rented bikes and biked to Fort Snelling and back. Our favorite places to eat were Sea Salt, Merlin's Rest , and The Nook.

    Jenni2016-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a delightful home! Al's space is warm, welcoming, clean, spacious, and in a perfect area. We'll be back for sure.

  • Plenty of space for a family or a group of friends who are traveling. Easy check-in access and place was CLEAN.

  • We had a great stay in Minneapolis. The house is located in a nice neighborhood close to shops and easy access to the city. We were a big group and everyone felt comfortable having their own space. The house is very well equiped, clean and quiet, we will come back on our next visit.

This historic South Minneapolis home was built in 1910 just before the Craftsman boom of the 20s. Original maple floors, mahogany staircase winding to the 2nd floor bedrooms and bath, cozy mint sun porch, and sprawling deck and backyard.
No pets have lived in this house but some pets are welcome!
  • The Cottage Life home was just as pictured online! It was perfect for our family of 4, but could have slept more very comfortably. The neighborhood was quiet but very close to the Mall of America and some great restaurants. It was a very relaxing stay, and we felt like we were at home. The breakfast items, like eggs, bread and yogurt, in the refrigerator were a very thoughtful touch. It was great to be able to do a load of laundry before starting home, too. If and when we return to the area, we would love to stay again!

    Amy2016-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the cottage with two adults, a dog, and a baby. Al was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The space was as described and very comfortable/appealing. We appreciated the food and toiletries, as well as the ample towel supply. Al provided everything we needed for a great week. The neighborhood was amazing, too - walkable and quiet, with several nice destinations within a mile or so. We would definitely stay here again.

    Julia2016-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cottage! Had everything we needed and more. Our pups couldn't be happier with the yard and beautiful neighborhood. Very clean and great location.

  • Al's place was awesome! Clean, tastefully furnished, private, located on a quiet and pleasant street--everything was perfect. What you get for your dollar is frankly amazing. This was our first time staying in Minneapolis but the cottage was very conveniently located and everything we visited seemed quite close by. Al was very thoughtful to provide fun things for kids to do, such as bikes, bubbles and squirt guns. This is the best Airbnb I have ever stayed at.

  • The Cottage was great for our family of 5. The space was clean and easy to find all the necessities. The proximity to the city and other local gems was great.

  • I needed a last minute place to stay while traveling for work. Al's house was a short drive from the airport and then a quick trip to downtown Minneapolis. The house was clean, in a great neighborhood, and close to Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub which was a great place.

We built this secluded, comfortable little house in 1995 to create a retreat from the every day pressures of life. Now we share its beauty with others looking for a quiet space that feels more like having your own cabin than a hotel or rental. Enjoy!
This is a beautiful, private cabin on a secluded stretch of the Baptism River, near the shore of Lake Superior. We built the place ourselves in 1995, using largely local materials and energy-saving building techniques (passive solar, extra insulation, etc.) There is a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and den downstairs, and a loft bedroom (with a stunning view) upstairs; outside the sliding glass doors is a deck with a view of the woods and the music of the rushing water below. An artesian well provides delicious, clean, running water. The bedroom has a full size bed, and you could accommodate an extra person on the fold-out couch (though we don't recommend more than three adults, or two adults plus younger kids). We have central heat and a shower, a full kitchen and high-speed Internet access. We enjoy renting the cabin to responsible people who love the woods as much as we do; this is NOT a commercial venture, but a way to share the beauty of the north woods on a budget, and we keep the price low by relying on you to leave it as you found it. (Think of it more like visiting your own cabin than a hotel or resort.) We generally avoid one-night bookings; please keep in mind that this is not one of those listings that function like a hotel. It's simply our cabin that we share with you, and while a neighbor helps with maintenance, there is no linen service etc. Well behaved, nondestructive pets are welcome. No other homes are visible or audible from the cabin, even though it is only a 10-minute drive from small and historic Finland, MN. Great hiking nearby includes the Lake Superior Hiking Trail; a Boundary Waters Canoe Area entry point is just 20 minutes away in Isabella. The river offers a soothing backdrop as well as the challenge, for the fishermen and -women among you, of brown trout. Swimming is possible at several gorgeous swimming holes nearby. After you book, please make sure to look at the "Directions" and "House Manual" tabs—there's lots of information there that you need. Thanks, and hope you have a fantastic North Woods vacation!
  • Little cabin in the woods, very remote and secluded location. Perfect for nature lovers. The only bad part was some garbage left around the house, an old toilet ( there is already an old dry toilet from before also ), old pots of paints, plastic bags scattered, not very "natural". The inside is as stated, nice and big windows. There are useful books about the area . The dishes are old, the pans very old so if you are a clean freak bring your own. The only uncomfortable part inside was the bed which is extremely dirty and old. Also bring your own pillows ( on top of the sheets, blankets and towels as stated in the instructions ). Monika is very quick to answer emails and when we needed glasses, she sent her friend to bring some to us.

    Gaële2012-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Monika for opening up your beautiful cabin to us! The location was so peaceful and beautiful, and the cabin was stocked with everything we needed, from cribbage to the sauna! Thanks again!

    Kirsten2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cabin, great for the price, fully equipped kitchen & gas grill. Appreciated dumpster (no trash pack out). Secluded, peaceful & dog friendly getaway, with great views/sounds of the Baptisim river. It made a good home base for enjoying North Shore color, sights & activities. Excellent internet service for occasional streaming, and power was stable throughout multiple serious evening thunderstorms

    Jerry2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was wonderful and felt remote enough for us as this was exactly what was needed! Thank you!

    Sanna2015-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely cabin in a beautiful setting available for a good value. Everything was comfortable and convenient. Monika was easy to communicate with by email, and flexible about our arrival time. The co-op in town was quite convenient. I would suggest eating in Beaver Bay or cooking dinner in the cabin, as we couldn't find anything terribly good as far as restaurants in town.

    Minke2015-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • When my girlfriend and I arrived here, the sun had gone down. We entered the cabin and did TONS of cleaning and then being very tired we went to bed. When we woke up, I took it upon myself and my trusty machete to do some clearing. So much clearing that when I was all done I had blisters on my fingers. Everything was extremely overgrown. You couldn't walk anywhere without catching poison ivy. We didn't even know exactly where the fire-pit was at first because it was so overgrown. HERE'S WHERE IT GETS GOOD> Once the paths, trails, and everything was cleared, and the inside of the cabin was clean enough (Minus the fly and larva everywhere) things changed. We were happy and having lots of fun! I moved the tv downstairs so we could sit inside on the couch and watch some movies during the raining outside.** I moved everything back to there original spots I found them.** One night we were out on the deck and were easily able to see the rest of our galaxy in the starry sky. Seeing the Milky Way together was a moment we will never forget. Another night after coming back from our trip to Devil's Kettle we had a bonfire. We were a little nervous when we started to hear a pack of wolves howling in the distance. It just made the night feel even more adventurous! The last day being there was kind of a sad one. We weren't ready to leave at all. We were just getting the hang of it being up there. The trip seemed to go by so fast. Before we left we cleaned up the place and said our goodbyes to the cabin. On our way back down home we hit every single place on 61. From Tettegouche State Park all the way to Canal Park. This is a beautiful place and a wonderful getaway. We hope to come back next year! Thank you so much Monika! Helpful tip to future vacationers: Bring as much food as you can with you instead of buying everything at the co-op. SUPER EXPENSIVE! Probably because its the only grocery store within miles... Also be warned of the before mentioned wolves. There are also black bears. Typically scared of humans, but can be curious if there are smells of cooking food. All in all... It started out like a horror movie, and ended like a romantic comedy. I know that sounds very corny but that's the truth! Tyler & Sarah Late September 2013

    Tyler2013-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful and well-maintained. It's a couple dozen feet from the river, which was nice to hear throughout our stay, although the dense foliage blocked any view. The cabin is close to a bunch of state parks and the Superior Hiking Trail (we'd urge you to be sure you prepare before setting out on some of the more arduous hikes). It was super buggy around the cabin because of all the water, so couldn't really be outside there. All in all, it was a very nice trip. And we'd highly recommend it!

  • My husband and I, along with our dog, spent Labor Day weekend in this lovely cabin. It was the perfect combination of the unplugged life and a few valuable creature comforts. We put the kitchen to good use and enjoyed the sauna a number of nights. The beauty of the forest and sounds of the Baptism river were exactly what we needed to renew and refresh. Our dog absolutely loved it and refused to get in the car on our last day! (She's a little stubborn, but we would have been the same way if we didn't have jobs to get back to!)

  • Honestly, the pictures don't give this place justice! It was such a wonderful place and felt like I was in a movie the entire time. Everyone was super friendly and wish I could have stayed longer. This is an amazing place and I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to stay here! Definitely will be back

    Alex2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful place to stay for business or pleasure! I arrived late (around 10pm) and Sam stayed up for me. There were snacks and bottled water in the room which was wonderful because I was hungry. I really appreciated the breakfast and especially the coffee. The house is absolutely beautiful and the owners encouraged me to explore. I was in town for a conference and walked to the conference location (walkable to both the Hyatt Regency and the Convention Center). There's a park nearby as well. The only thing that took a second to get used to was the noise the radiator made in my room. I've never had a radiator before and when it kicked on the first time I nearly fell out of my bed! But I'll take a noisy radiator for a beautiful house and wonderful hosts any day. If I'm ever in Minneapolis again I will absolutely be back!! Madonna (the great dane) and I were fast friends and I miss her already. Thank you!!

  • Had a great time at Susannah's! The place is much bigger than I expected and very cozy. Extremely close to campus and to public transit. Would definitely recommend to friends!

    Leah2016-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is lovely with thoughtful amenities. The light rail stop is conveniently nearby. It is on a bustling street, so there was street noise at night. However, that didn't detract greatly from our enjoyable stay at the apartment.

    Laura2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • She left paperwork to assist with the stay and was very helpful with paperwork. Great stay! Nice and clean.

    Minna2016-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Susannah's bohemian apartment. It was our first time as a guest with air bnb, even though we have hosted for two years now. It was a great first experience! Apartment is very spacious, clean, and in a central convenient location if you are visiting downtown Minneapolis or the U of M. The only downside was the noise at night. It was a Friday night so the bar croud across the street was rather loud. It did quiet down after closing. The beds were super comfy! She also had fresh fruit, flowers, tea and water in fridge. Very nice extra touches!

    Michele2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • PRICE and LOCATION. Could NOT beat it for the expansive space Susannah has available. I will seek out her listings in the future over any hotel in the Twin Cities area. Wonderful kitchen accommodations, more beds than a family could fill (I only needed one, memory foam, by the way), and plenty of decorations and great little touches (peruse the bookshelf to have a few laughs about life in Minnesota) to help you feel at home. PRO TIP 1: sit on the back deck at dusk and listen to the chimney swallows above while the bigger metal birds take off higher in the sky. A perfect way to wind down at the end of the day. OPTIONAL: Check out the bookstore, bike shop, or outdoor outfitter downstairs. I ended up buying some new gear and meeting some genuine people. Cheers!

    Ryan2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Susannah's place is perfectly located for both walkers and those who like to take public transportation. We were visiting the U of M campus and were able to walk everywhere. We loved the diverse neighborhood and eclectic mix of restaurants. We had Ethiopian food one night and Middle Eastern the next day. The apartment itself is spacious, clean, and beautifully furnished. Our week-end felt a bit magical. We highly recommend Susannah's place!

Urban sanctuary one bedroom apt. centrally located in the bustling neighborhood of Whittier... minutes from downtown and uptown. One block from the Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. One block from 'Eat Street'... coffee shops, diverse restaurants and music venues.
This is a one bedroom apt. on the 1st floor of a 135 year old triplex in the heart of Minneapolis. Although technically, a one bedroom apt., the space functions more like a large open studio apt. because of its design. Unique hard wood floors, space saving pocket doors and dimmable recessed lighting throughout. Full kitchen with amenities, free washer and dryer, claw foot tub, plenty of closet space and built-in storage for clothes. Free wifi and off street parking.
In all humility...this neighborhood is ‘happenin’. We are the HEART of Minneapolis: authentic, truly diverse and rich with history. This Airbnb is located located a 1/2 block off of 'Eat Street'... German, Greek, Jamaican, Malaysian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Middle Eastern, coal fired pizza and an amazing organic market/deli are all within steps from your back gate or within a block or two. Relax with a great cup of coffee at the 'Spyhouse' at the end of the alley or enjoy a fantastic breakfast/lunch/dinner at the 'Copper Hen' right across the alley.
  • Great location, comfortable bed...couldn't ask for more!

  • What a lovely space! The decorating was just impecable- you can tell how much love and time Colin put into this property. It was so cool getting to read the history of the building. My mom stayed here when she came up to visit me, and she felt fully safe and absolutely loved the location- one block off Eat Street, with just enough distance that it wasn't too rowdy to sleep at night.

    Elisabeth2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • I actually live in the neighborhood. My parents were visiting from Massachusetts and for the last night we needed to put them up somewhere. Colin's place is gorgeous. My parents loved looking around at all of the art, books, cool and unique decor. It was nice and warm, impeccably clean, pretty lighting. They made themselves right at home. The neighborhood is amazing, great restaurants, cafe's, bars just one block away, Children's Theatre Company, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Vertical Endeavors climbing facility, live music, short bus ride to downtown--there's lots to do but this is a restful place to stay so you can also be homey and relax at Colin's.

    Deborah2016-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • There was a bowl of chocolates, and fresh coffee beans (and a grinder). We had fun discovering all the interest decorations and knickknacks around the apartment. We even got some decorating ideas for our new home. There were many restaurants in the area. We only had time to eat in a few that Colin recommended. The Greek food and German food stood out. We were allowed to charge our electric can which is always a nice plus. The location was very convenient for food and getting to both town and suburban shopping. We would definitely stay again.

    Steve2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Colin's place! His style is really unique and there are so many fun, interesting things to look at. It feels like a perfect mixture of modern and vintage. The apartment was quiet and private, with ample space. We had a bit of trouble with the antique stove at one point and Colin came down right away to help us out, and to provide an air bed for our additional traveler. He was very polite and friendly. The bed is an insanely comfortable foam mattress. Would definitely recommend spending a night here.

    Rebecca2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Colin's place was absolutely fantastic! The home is beautiful and well appointed, with every detail considered. It's obvious how lovingly and passionately he's restored the place and how much heart, soul, passion, and personality went into the furnishings and decor. Every element is unique and unexpected in a way that made us smile with delight throughout our stay as we continually discovered new details and personal touches we hadn't noticed before. From the (working!) 'vintage' television, to the unique decor, to the amazing collection of books about art and history. As for things to do in the neighborhood, there are many fantastic local bars and eateries, and Colin has included a comprehensive and beautifully designed map of all of them on the freezer door.

    Brian2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • key hand-off went great. Colin was on site which I always appreciate. This is a great space in a fun location. If you like the bustle of the city this spot is for you. nice restaurants and live music at the ice house are all a very short walk. On the other hand, it wasn't overly noisy at night. I had no problems sleeping. I thoroughly enjoyed this location and space. Thanks Colin!

    Jeff2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place has about anything you would need. I couldn't find any wine glasses though and the wine key was just a little travel one, but we made it work. Just some FYI: The only bathroom is through the only bedroom. Meaning if someone is sleeping in there or you have a child down for a nap you have to sneak through to get to the bathroom. This will have zero impact on most couples/families, but for us, it did. It is walking distance to anything you would ever want to eat or drink. I just walked and got us morning coffees (one block) although there were coffee beans in the fridge and a french press. This is a really cool place, but not the most kid-friendly. If just my husband and I ever make it make to the area, we'd definitely consider staying here again.

  • This lower level space was exactly as pictured! Very clean, had everything we could need for our stay. Perfect for visiting duluth with our two young daughters. Very short drive to all Duluth's attractions. Quiet neighborhood. Very comfortable king sized bed. Netflix available for our girls to watch a show while we made breakfast each morning. Only downside was overhead noise from upper unit tenants walking around- seems to depend on who is above you though, as we harldly heard the couple that was there the first two nights of our stay.

    Danielle2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great, private place perfect for your home base with a small family while visiting the Duluth and North Shore areas.

    Mary2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very easy to find. Much bigger than we expected which was great! It was just what we were looking for, warm and cozy.

    Andrea2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great space-but I wouldn’t have wanted to be a guest is there was anyone renting out the upstairs!

  • Very welcoming and beautiful space.

  • Kelly was a great host! We had the whole lower level of their house. Kelly and Brian welcomed us warmly when we arrived. Kelly added the personal touches that made it feel like home. Highly recommend!

    Dave2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great getaway weekend here. The space was larger than expected and in excellent shape. We had courteous and timely communications with our host. Would definitely recommend to others and hope to come back in the future.

    Robby2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house is lovely and off the beaten path, yet close enough to Duluth to do all the touristy things. The owners are very accommodating and quick to respond to any inquiries. The beds are insanely comfortable. The only downfall is that the owners have two young children that wake up and run around overhead at 7am. Other than that, it is a perfect place to stay!

  • Misha was very welcoming and nice! I was in Rochester for a month for school. The apartment was very nice, spacious, and had everything you would need. It was also nice to stay here when I was away from home! Thanks for letting me rent your apartment!

  • Mischa' house is a great find! Nice place for the for the cost. Mischa was so flexible with our arrival time, offered great suggestions for dining and was very friendly. The place was cute. The location to Mayo, shopping and dining was wonderful. I would recommend Mischa's apartment to others.

  • What a lovely little apartment. Bigger than the pictures show, clean, and had some of the basics ready to go which you don't always expect to have. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and is perfect for up to three people. Thanks again!

  • Doug promptly replied to my request for information regarding how to enter the house, find my room and connect with wifi. He was helpful finding interesting locales to dine and shop. He also provided efficient means to contact him and enter the house easily. The room was well advertised and there were no surprises. I would definitely stay here again!

    Susannah2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • The room and house had everything I needed: huge bathroom, towels, etc. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable--I was pretty much at the house only to sleep, but after long days walking around, it was nice to come back to the Blue Room. I had a problem with the door one day (my fault) and couldn't get in; a little while after I called Douglas, I could enter the house like nothing had ever happened. Douglas's place is a great value--on a nice day, you can walk anywhere you'd want to go in Minneapolis, but public transportation is also cheap and easily accessible from the house.

    Terence2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Douglas was a welcoming host. The house is large and spacious but rough-around-the-edges with incomplete renovations. Our room was spartan, but the bed comfy, the room clean and the A/C a delight. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy. This is no posh Victorian retreat, but it was a well-priced and convenient accommodation.

    J2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • I had a purely positive experience staying at Douglas' place. Very easy check-in/out, clean and nicely updated accommodations.

    Chad2016-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • not stay but its not the hosts fault, hope can enter next time

    Chen2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The blue room was very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was also large and comfortable with easy access from the upstairs rooms. Kitchen had plenty of utensils and dinnerware if you bring food back to eat. The house is beautiful and it's clear Douglas is actively making improvements to restore it even further. The doors don't have inside locks which is a little strange but overall a great experience for three nights.

    Erika 2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We never met the host but got clear instruction to enter the house and find our room. The first floor and upstairs bathroom have been lovingly restored. The blue room is still missing quite a bit of trim work though the bed was adequate. There is a window ac unit which helped with air circulation. Wifi worked exceptionally well and would be a great place for an extended stay because the common area downstairs feels accessible.

    Ethan2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • A great, roomy beautiful space. It is easy to get downtown and access the surrounding parks. Douglas does a great good communicating and keeping in contact. Highly recommended.

Very cool old 1930's house with a ton of character. One queen bed in one room and two twins in the other. Full Kitchen with most of the basics! Large flat screen tv with a few local channels only, but access to Netflix, hulu, etc through the smart dvd/bluethooth player. There are sleep masks in the nightstands, snacks in the cupboards, and tons of games and books to keep you entertained while you cozy up in the apartment! **The house Is on Broadway so you will hear some street noise at times! There is a white noise machiene, ear plugs, and fans provided.
  • Brianna was a great host and very communicative. She sent me a text a few days before our stay just to confirm the timing of our arrival and departure. Everything about our stay went very smoothly. The apartment was as described in the posting and very charming. The apartment was very clean, the bathroom had fresh towels, and the beds were comfortable and warm.

    Justin2015-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Bri's bungalow is the nicest airbnb we've experienced. So charming and filled with amenities.

    Ken2015-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Brianna was a wonderful host! Responded immediately. Her home was spot on, cute place within walking distance to may things. Very comfortable beds! And the decorating was so welcoming.

    Linda2015-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place and it's hostess are both gems! I come to Rochester generally once a month and had stayed at several of the hotels downtown. That will not be happening anymore. I've stayed at the Brass Bungalow on two separate occasions now and both times have had nothing but phenomenal things to say. The place itself: The pictures and description posted are one hundred percent accurate. It's hard to capture how much character and charm the Brass Bungalow has. The decorations and furniture are eclectic and fun and full of spirit. But other details, such as towels, blankets, coffee, snacks, posted suggestions of where to go for food and/or drinks, and the almost fully equipped kitchen were much more than I could have asked for. I only say almost fully equipped because there were a few less items than in my kitchen at home, but without bringing anything extra, was able to cook full meals with ease. The apartment sits above the photography studio with no common walls because there are no other apartments, so the privacy factor is huge! Yes, there is street noise, but ear plugs are thoughtfully provided and the noise was not enough to cause me to use them. The hostess herelf: Bri was extremely timely, friendly, professional and accommodating. She provided very helpful directions and instructions before my arrival and when I had questions, she responded quickly; I mean within minutes.

    Molly2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place was super cute and charming. Will def look it up again if coming to the area. Brianna didn't miss a detail and small extras!

    Pamela2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great little upstairs apartment with lots of character.

    Benjamin2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Check in and check out was easy. Everything was taken care of. Brianna even shoveled the steps when it snowed. The only downfall was the bathtub was difficult to get in and out of to take a shower.

    Danielle2017-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Bri's house was exquisite... really. She has thought about absolutely everything to make this house feel like a little home. She goes beyond "the amenities" to make you feel like you've scored your best friend's place while their out of town. If you forgot it at home, it's likely at Bri's, wrapped, new and ready for you. I felt "thought of" though we never got to meet. My colleague and I had separate bedrooms, plenty of space to spread out, and a great place to set-up for work in the dining nook. The only thing we wished for was to stay longer. Next time we're in Rochester, our fingers are crossed this gem is available.

Travel together, and have your privacy. Three total upstairs bedrooms. Two beautiful bedrooms with Queen sized memory foam mattresses and one bedroom with comfortable full bed conveniently situated in Lyndale neighborhood. Private slate bathroom with shower and tub. Close to downtown, Convention Center. On bus line and 24/7 free street parking. Walk to great restaurants. To reserve two rooms, please indicate either 3 or 4 guests. To reserve three bedrooms, please indicate either 5 or 6 guests.
Enjoy a rare authentic brownstone in Minneapolis. One of very few that exists in the city, this was designed and built in 1897 and completely restored into a modern living space. Enjoy exposed brick walls, original staircases, yet all the modern conveniences. There are three upstairs bedrooms available, with a shared full bath. To use the second bedroom, even if there are only two people staying, please make the reservation for three people. This ensures access to the second bedroom. To reserve all three rooms, please book for at least 5 people. The main floor is used as a quiet office from 9 am to 5 pm.
The neighborhood is culturally diverse. You can walk two or three blocks to trendy eateries, or a mile or two to a very happening uptown district. It's close to downtown, UBER will probably be about $10 to downtown and $5 to uptown. The front bedrooms have view of downtown Minneapolis. There is a small convenience store across the street, gas station a couple blocks down Nicollet Avenue. Parking is on the street, and generally available.
  • Janet was an excellent host! Although we arrived late and didn't get a chance to meet her in person, she did a great job communicating with us and making sure we had everything we needed. The house is lovely, the bed is comfortable, and all of the little treats she left for us (chocolate, pastries, tea, etc) made our stay feel extra special. I would definitely recommend staying here :)

  • Wonderful cozy place. Soft towels, comfy beds, yummy snacks, and overall attention to details. It had everything we could have asked for! It was close to the airport and mall of America that was perfect for us. Highly recommend it!

    Michael2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very close to a lot of restaurants and public transportation. The bedding was clean and so was the bathroom! The only thing I didn't realize was that you had to walk up a flight of wooden stairs. This made it difficult with a 50lb suitcase. Other than that, great place!

    Shelby2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at a five-star hotel once. It barely held a candle to this place. Janet just might be the perfect host. The set up is such that it doesn't matter how late you arrive, because Janet sends you easy instructions for getting in. The bed is unbelievably comfy, and the bathroom has everything you could need, including a hairdryer! There are lovely restaurants and bars and cafes only a few blocks away, and in the morning the Keurig coffeemaker is waiting for you downstairs.

  • Emily's house was fabulous! Clean, friendly, (URL HIDDEN) was Emily herself. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Lot's of books and local information. She even had a great cat that she left with us. Maisy was cute and cuddly. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again when I'm in town next.

  • Emily's house was awesome! It's in a great location with lots to do and see nearby. Emily is an amazing hostess. I didn't know anyone in town so she recommended where to go for shopping, food, etc. She really went out of her way to make my trip a fun experience. I would highly recommend staying at her place!

  • Emily's house is warm and inviting and contains everything you need. The house is small and cozy and great for two adults. We were able to prepare meals as desired from the well equipped kitchen and it was easy to get around the area for shopping and entertainment. Nice area to walk around too. We would return to rent it again if the opportunity arises. Thank you Emily!

    Maureen2011-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely home, and a very good hostess. The garden is pretty and has lots of places to sit in both sun and shade. There were easy directions and lots of easy to use kitchen condiments and utensils. We both felt very comfortable there. The decor is really artistic and sweet, filled with good books and really nice vibes. The neighborhood is very close to the highway, but homey (and not noisy), and nice shopping areas nearby--a close strip mall with essentials, and cute shopping areas just a mile or two away, plus the Mississippi and lots of good local beer to be had at the local pubs.

    Liz2013-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at emily's! The decor was just our style, bright and interesting- we felt instantly at home! Emily was so helpful and friendly, and provided so much information about the area we could have easily stayed for a few weeks to try it all. This was our first airbnb experience and I already want to plan a stop here again for any future stays in Minneapolis.

Stay in the heart of downtown St. Paul. Across the street from city hall, you can't get more central than this.
The apartment is a newly remodeled, cozy one bedroom unit on the 9th floor of the former Lowry Hotel. A small, modern kitchen area with stainless steel appliances opens up into a living room with a flat screen TV (with no cable, but a Roku with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, WatchESPN, Spotify and more!). The bedroom has a luxurious queen size four poster bed. The dresser will be left empty for you. The bathroom features a stand-up shower (no tub, sorry!) with a nice big shower head.
Downtown St. Paul is beautiful! You'll find yourself surrounded by lovely parks, a nice selection of restaurants, bars, theaters and concert venues, galleries and museums. The Mississippi River is steps away.
  • Donovan was a great host! The home was clean and cozy and had all of the amenities we needed! We would love to stay again! Thank you!

    Angela2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • My cutie and I absolutely loved staying at Donovan's place, and he was an exceptional host - flexible and accommodating and communicative and generous. He was always available to answer questions and was willing to go above and beyond to make our stay easier and more wonderful. His apartment was lovely as well - clean and comfortable, and we loved the art he has up. It was super convenient for us, too - very close to the Roy Wilkins Auditorium, where the tournament we came to town for was held, and right by the light rail, which made adventuring around St Paul and into Minneapolis so easy! Donovan and his apartment made our trip much easier, more comfortable and more fun than it would have been otherwise, and I highly recommend staying with him.

    Shira2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the apartment. It was clean, well stocked with dishes, towels, etc. The location was very convenient, an easy walk to anywhere in Lowertown/Downtown and with easy access to transit. Donovan was quick to respond to questions before and during our stay. The one problem we had was that the internet was a bit spotty, and a few times stopped working entirely, only to be fine when we tried again an hour or two later. Thanks Donovan!

    Sarah2015-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved EVERYTHING about Donovan's place. Location was the best ever, extreme 5 star accommodations with linens, bed sheets and immaculately clean and so perfectly decorated. Best host eva!

    Paula2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tip top flat - brilliant example of the AirBnB ethos, feeling like a home but with quality, cleanliness, linen, towels, toiletries worthy of a hotel. Great host, very straightforward check in, excellent communication. Scrupulously clean. Really comfortable bed. Great to have kitchen and telly for evenings while here for a conference at the Landmark Centre which is very close. Highly recommended!

    Eleanor2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Donovan was communicative and helped me get comfortable during my stay at his place. His listing was centrally located in Downtown Saint Paul, easily accessible by public transit. I recommend others to stay at his place!

    Mick2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was wonderful! Donovan made it super easy to get the keys, and had everything I could ever need already in the apartment. The location was great, and I am so happy I chose to stay at Donovan's place. The apartment was very clean and much more comfortable than staying at a hotel. I will definitely look to stay here again should I ever find myself back in Saint Paul.

I can comfortably fit 2 in my spare bedroom upstairs. It's a private room with a lock. Someone can sleep on the chaise lounge, but I wouldn't want to, personally.
Food, bars, and groceries are walkable. Quiet streets and lots of green space.
  • Aaron was very nice and helpful. The house was very clean. I would definitely recommend that place.

  • Aaron was really helpful and accommodating. Our stay ended up being cut really short because of flight delays, so we got in really late at night and left early. Aaron was responsive to all my emails, and made it really convenient to get in the house late at night. His breakfast recommendation was a hit too. Next time I'm in the twin cities, I hope to stay at Aaron's again, and for a longer time!!

  • Excellent set up. Aaron and Natalie have a lovely home and are super chill. We really appreciated their flexibility and regret we only had one night to stay in the Cities.

  • Aaron was an awesome host! His house is so nice and he had some great recommendations for food and drinks. Aaron and his girlfriend Natalie met us at a brewery to hang out and get a drink. They are such great people! I highly recommend staying here! We loved Minneapolis and we wish we could have stayed longer!

  • Aaron is such a great host! We felt at home the entire time we stayed there. The neighborhood is quiet and pretty close to restaurants and grocery stores. Strongly recommend this cozy home to stay during the visit in Minneapolis.

  • Great first experience! Clean and adorable home. Easy to find. Close to downtown. Catching an Uber was fast and easy. Comfortable bed! Nice deck for sipping wine.

    Nicole2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Aaron's house is great, and the room is very comfortable. Aaron & Natalie couldn't have been nicer, and I only wished I could have stayed in town longer to hit a show with them. Also, Natalie makes some fantastic scones. If I get an opportunity to come back to Minneapolis I'll definitely check here first.

  • Although our stay was brief, it was very enjoyable. Accommodation was exactly as described, and located conveniently close to downtown in a walkable neighbourhood. House was spotless and the room was very nice. Would certainly stay here again.

You ascend the private staircase to your private studio space on the second floor where it is bright and cheery surrounded by windows and a view of downtown Minneapolis and gardens. Your king size bed is roomy and comfy.
Once you walk through the iron gates of 2409 Pillsbury Mansion and follow the red brick path through the beautifully manicured garden, you will feel tranquility only to be greeted by your hosts, Ricardo and Alia.
The neighborhood has a wide variety of stately homes. We are 2 blocks from the Minneapolis Institute of Art, a 20 minute walk to the Walker Art Center and easy access to the lakes, parks and interstate. There are plenty of great restaurants close by as well as food co ops and event venues.
  • The bedroom was spacious and had a wonderful window. Cute tile bathroom. Comfy bed. Lovely, relaxing garden. Private space for guests apart from rest of house. Adorable resident bunnies. Great neighborhood in walking distance to wide choice of restaurants and to museums. Easy to access from freeway.

  • This was our first Airbnb experience and we thought it was really great. Ricardo was very efficient and professional in keeping in touch about our stay and pointing out features of the home and room. He was very personable and we enjoyed his company at breakfast--especially discussing food and recipes. A good location near the MIA and restaurants too. All in all, we were very pleased and would stay again.

  • Fabulous. Accessible when help needed. Lovely home. 15 from convention center. My schedule prevented me from his breakfast! Maybe next time.

  • Fantastic spot. Loved it. Great location--close to good food, easy to find--and everything went without a hitch.

  • Hello! I wasn't able to get to Ricardo's! My mother fell and I had to stay with her instead of traveling. Ricardo was a dear! He understood completely. Will try once again this spring.

    Julianne2015-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Pillsbury mansion is WONDERFUL! Can we please rate it ten stars?! Both the place and our hosts exceeded all of our expectations-- super private, clean, and comfortable quarters (comfiest bed ever!!) and unmatched hospitality that left us feeling both welcomed and autonomous. We were greeted by Ricardo's partner, Alia, who tended to our every need and answered all our questions upon arrival. The unit itself is incredibly spacious, and has both an A/C box and fan to keep the room nice and comfy during the summer months. Access to the beautiful gardens is also a plus, and walking through them each time to get to our private back entrance made us feel like we were in a story from a movie. The house is conveniently located very close to several awesome bars and restaurants, and adjacent to downtown Minneapolis (~20/25 mins walk at most-- not a problem for us!) Our one regret is that we did not make it up in time to enjoy coffee and scones with our incredibly kind and interesting hosts-- we would love to return to Minneapolis, and wouldn't stay anywhere else!! Thank you for an amazing visit to your beautiful home.

  • Fantastic location, wonderful accommodations, friendly faces, and good food. I would definitely enjoy staying here again at a future date.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Ricardo was easy to contact and accommodating. The room is quiet, private and strategically located near many places to eat and drink. It also has a lovely yard that was just coming into bloom when I was there. I highly recommend this as a place to stay while visiting Minneapolis.

My space is a basement apartment: It has two very large rooms. One very large room has a bed and lounging area. The second room has a kitchen table, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot and snacks. The shower is located at one end of this space. There is a private entrance in from the outside, and even though it's in the basement, there is an egress window to let in light. It's clean, comfortable and spacious. Upstairs resident uses a walker to move around.

  • Julia’s place was great! It was a very homey space. It was a nice quiet place to rest during our very busy weekend. Even with some mild miscommunication about checking in, Julia was incredibly hospitable and we very much enjoyed our stay.

    Emily2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Cozy, clean and close to everywhere we needed to go.

    Billy2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was a great host and the room was excellent for my overnight stay. It's in a beautiful neighborhood and was exactly what I needed for the night. I was planning to go swimming and it turned out Julia was too so she gave me a ride to and from the pool - very nice and certainly not within the requirements/expectations. Thanks Julia for going above and beyond! I recommend her place and I'd stay there again if I'm ever in the area.

    Ann2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Julia is a gracious host and the dwelling is fabulous. We will definitely be back when we're in town again.

    Carla2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • The space was nice and spacious but the host wasn't the most courteous. It is very clean and the bed is comfy. Has private entrance from the backside. I have done airbnb for about years now and this was one of the few mediocre experience. There was NO INTERNET signal in either my phones or my laptop. There was no network showing as listed in the description. So wifi wasn't available. There is an grandfather alarm clock that went off every 15 mins and I was told that "Unfortunately you are in a private residence" so basically have to be okay with an alarm clock going off every 15 mins all night. I found this response very cold and unnecessary. So after that I didn't communicate with the host anymore. Also the check out time was 11, and I checked out about 20 mins after and she had to send me an FYI message even though I notified her of it. Also the lady upstairs is exceptionally loud and was fighting about something with a family member and even with the doors closed i could heard the entire affair. It wasnt pleasant nor peaceful. Since I am a past airbnb host myself and have lived in Minnesota for over a decade, I know there are plenty of options at this price range and I wouldn't recommend anyone looking for peace and quiet to book here. Everything I said in this review is factual. I can't make this stuff up

    Nazr2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to stay the night, close enough to the city but in more of a residential area. Transit station ~1.3 miles away or could get cab to downtown. Place was clean and bed was comfortable. If planning on spending more time in the room than in the city, may be disappointed but great if you are just looking for a shower and bed with most of your time exploring the twin cities!

  • Very nice little apartment area, several breakfast options available on the table. Very close to the Eagan Community Center and just off of I-35E. Enjoyed my stay, though I basically only slept here.

  • Rose was a great host. She even went out of the way to pick up one of our group at the airport. She thought of everything and we had everything we needed and more! We truly enjoyed our stay and we would definitely go back! The listing was described perfectly and the house was in a great neighborhood near everything we were planning to do. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to stay!!

  • My husband, his brothers, my infant, and I, spent three lovely evenings at Rosemarie's. The breakfast was a wonderful amenity, the home was immaculately clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the natural light that floods the mid-century-risk living room was awesome. Minutes away from everything and easy to find. We were most impressed by how professional the place was and how absolutely kind the hostess was. One of my favorite Airbnb stays yet!

    Caroline2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • The three night stay my boys and I had, was everything and more that I had expected from the profile page. Everything was very clean! and very comfortable! I truly felt at home from the bed to the extras in the bathroom to the kitchen stocked with everything we needed for breakfast before we started our days. I have found my home away from home! as I grew up in MPLS and need to return from time to time. Rosemarie is very warm and friendly and welcoming.

    kimberly2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • As always, a very pleasant stay at Rose's house this past week. She and her husband were very accommodating with my wife and kids also staying the first night of my stay. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect being just 10 minutes from the airport and centrally located for easy access to both downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul along with the south metro suburbs.

    John2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Had another wonderful stay at Rose and Paul's home. We love coming here and will continue to do so when we're in the Twin Cities.

    Mary2015-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • It is decent place in the Twin Cities suburbs. It does not provide you much privacy which is not what you would expect from a listing described as an entire place. The hosts were constantly knocking on our door for this and that. They also had an issue with heat thermostats. Rosemary does not have a job so she is at home constantly watching after the airbnb guests. Paul (her husband) looked overwhelmed when she asked him to adjust the thermostats in the airbnb rooms. In the end the hosts became so defensive while constantly saying ... oh, it never happened before .... (when in fact they had notes plastered all over the bathroom and three bedrooms asking guests not to touch the thermostats). Both hosts were very defensive and overwhelmed to the point that they lied to airbnb customer service that they mistakenly accepted my reservation for longer than they intended. So she canceled part of my stay with a day notice. I had to find another listing while traveling with two children in cold November. Overall a forgettable experience.

  • My family (including a three-year-old and a baby) enjoyed our stay in Rosemarie's house. Beautiful setting with gardens -- Rosemarie thoughtfully brought in a bouquet for our table. She and her husband were extremely responsive and helpful during our stay. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and the hot water never ran out! We appreciated the hospitality and would definitely stay again.

Our Minneapolis neighborhood, Prospect Park, is known for unique architecture, curving shady streets, and English style gardens. You are safe to take an evening walk or early morning run or bike ride. There is also a private patio with cafe table and chairs on the private and quiet back patio. From about March/April through October/November the City of MPLS offers nearby bicycle rentals through the "Nice Ride" bicycle system. We have a bike rack in the back where you can secure and store your personal bikes. If we know in advance and have space available, you are welcome to use our dry and secure storage room for your bicyles. We don't allow pets in the suite. Sorry. We're nuts about dogs and we have one ourselves, but we've been made aware that some people have allergy issues and that most people don't appreciate pet hair as a fashion accessory.
Prospect Park is an historic Minneapolis neighborhood with the oldest neighborhood association in the Twin Cities. It is next to the University of Minnesota and is a vibrant and eclectic mix of academics, young urbanites, aging bohemian hippies, artists, musicians, young families, business professionals and even a few politicians. Many famous people have lived in the neighborhood. It is the highest point in the city. The curving, hilly and shady streets are a great place for a walk. Don't be surprised if you see a fox, small flock of wild turkeys, hawks, eagles, rabbits and other unusual wildlife not normally seen in a city - we're very proud of our neighborhood's less-than-perfect manicured lawns and English style "woolly" gardens. You could easily forget that you're in the center of a large major urban city.
  • Our stay at the Bobbin House was delightful! Steven was so welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived until we departed. It is such a charming place to relax. The neighborhood is nice to meander through. The location is fantastic for public transportation & fun restaurants. We are looking forward to our next visit.

    Patti2015-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We booked our stay at the Bobbin house for 3 nights the morning of, and got SO lucky that they were available for new year's! It was a very spontaneous trip for us, and it couldn't have worked out better. We got in town kind of late, and Steven was right there ready for us. We actually came to Minneapolis to go skiing at Afton Alps half an hour away, but we liked that the Bobbin House was also right in the middle of the twin cities. I wish we had a chance to use the light rail since it's only a block away! It's worth mentioning that a lot of love went into the making of this house. We talked with Steve about all the renovations they did and all of their cute decorations when we were checking out. They thought of everything to make us comfortable, and we really appreciated it.

    Molly2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts communicated with us on arrival and departure times. They gave excellent instructions on finding both the suite and a grocery store. The neighborhood was quaint, and very safe. We were provided two sets of keys, and given access to the full kitchen in the cottage. This is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy Minneapolis. We parked the rental car and used the rail transit a block away to tour the campus and city. So convenient!

    Gregory2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a wonderful place to stay! Our hosts truly thought of everything, from compiling a binder of nearby restaurant menus, to labelling light switches. Our suite was just like in the photos; it was quiet and comfortable, immaculately clean, whimsically decorated, and in a fantastic central location. The kitchen was spacious and fully stocked. My husband and I spent nine days at Bobbin House and will definitely recommend it without hesitation to anyone visiting the twin cities. Steve and Tom were amazing - very helpful and readily available if we needed assistance. We already look forward to going back for another visit!

    Amy2014-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was so welcoming and gave me tons of information about the house, and about nearby points of interest. He knows a LOT about the city! He was available throughout our stay for any questions we had, and was accommodating when we had bikes we needed to lock up/store. The neighborhood is beautiful, and is in a perfect location. It's steps away from the light rail, which makes it close to anything you could want/need. The space is super cute, and the hosts have thought of everything! The space is very small, but very comfortable. The beds are even sleep number beds, so you'll have the most comfortable bed, no matter what you like. Do be aware that you cannot push the beds together, so if you are with your sweetie, you'll be sleeping separately. You cannot go wrong here! Wonderful hosts, cozy space, and excellent location!

    Andrea2015-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was wonderful, the place was absolutely as described. I highly recommend it.

    Margaret2014-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • My sister and I stayed at Bobbin House Studio for 5 nights, and we wish it could have been longer! The facilities and our hosts were truly wonderful. Steve was most accommodating, and because our planes landed in the Twin Cities in mid-morning, he allowed us to check in at noon instead of waiting until 3, which was really kind and most appreciated. The house itself is beautiful, comfortable, interesting, and elegant. Everything one could need is provided, both in the upstairs apartment and in the downstairs kitchen. The kitchen, in fact, is very well stocked, and Steve kept a sharp eye on things we were using (like coffee) and replenished them for us before we even asked. We couldn't have asked for anything more -- but if we had, I feel sure our hosts would have provided it! The location of the Bobbin House Studio is also ideal. It's just off University Avenue, near the U, near downtown St. Paul, and convenient to the interstate system, the State Fairgrounds, and the Como Zoo and Gardens. It is on the Green Line, so one wouldn't even need a car to get to the airport or downtown. It is in a most charming and quiet neighborhood, and is close to a nice cafe also. Ideal in every way. We hope to stay at Bobbin House again many times. This was our first time using Air BnB, but I know we'll not be staying anywhere else from now on.

    Carolyn2014-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Bobbin House. The studio is beautiful, well equipped, and comfortable, with every detail well thought out. And spotlessly clean. The Prospect Park neighborhood is lovely -- a wonderful spot for walks. I highly recommend heading around the corner to The Cupcake Cafe on a daily basis. I can't say enough about Steven. He is a superb host in every way. I visit the area regularly and sincerely hope there will be room for me to stay at the Bobbin House whenever I am in town!
