Arthur's seat overlooks Holyrood park and if you have the energy to walk up it then it offers amazing views of the city. An easier walk is Salisbury Cragg which is not as high as Arthur's seat and still offers amazing views.

Taxis and safe and not expensive
Whether using Uber or Black Cabs, both are very reasonable for getting around a city especially when there are two or more of you. Uber is cheaper of course but do watch out for the surge times when it is cheaper to flag or call a black cab. City Cabs are a very good cooperative black cabs that have been around for over 90 years in Edinburgh.
