For architecture lovers and anyone wanting to reflect, pray and enjoy a quiet space, Bristol cathedral is full of interesting history, events (see website for what’s-on guide), music and the ground around the cathedral are also beautiful to stop, have a coffee and cake!

The Gloucester Docks is one of our favourites. It is a food haven, full of history - the docks are home to one of the greatest shows in the nautical calendar in our eyes - Tall Ships - usually held in June you can see the ships move up the Gloucester-Sharpness Canal up into the ‘basins’ at the docks where they are moored during a weekend of fun for all the family.

So much to say about our incredible river. We are proud of our Severn heritage, where salmon fishermen were in abundance, our bridges, and even railway lines crossed. The Severn Bore is one of the strangest, most exciting events that people flock to see (see the high tide times). The Dutch Barn is a short mile from the Old Severn Bridge which crosses (free of charge) over to Chepstow - don’t forget to see the castle if you visit this stunning, historical town
