Great Brisket, Great cocktails, and all the other BBQ too, a little longer walk than most of the places on this list, but worth it!

One of the biggest urban parks in the country, its got walking and biking paths, nature preserves, golf courses (including frisbee, and the little white ball kind), coffee shops, bayous, playgrounds (soon to be a children's museum/center too), the new orleans museum of art, sculpture garden, celebration in the oaks, a small amusement park (Carousel gardens) and children's park (story land), Voodoo fest and more.

Great place for a morning coffee, breakfast or a snack, but don't skip the food. It's great too!

Bayou St. John was the old entry point into the city, and it remains one of the prettiest spots in town till today. Take a sunset stroll along the banks, or bring a picnic and sit for a while, its also a great place to run, and you can follow it all the way to Lake Pontchartrain, along a beautiful bike /walking path, or connect up with the Lafitte Greenway and head into the French Quarter.

Take a sunset stroll along the banks, or bring a picnic and sit for a while, its also a great place to run, and you can follow it all the way to Lake Pontchartrain, along a beautiful bike /walking path, or connect up with the Lafitte Greenway and head into the French Quarter.
