Food scene
My favorite spot to grab food and drinks in the District. Menu is comprised of international street foods and is constantly changing, which makes for a unique experience every time! If you go, you must try the khachapuri (or “cheese bread”) from Georgia! 🤤

Located in a charming alleyway only a couple blocks from my apartment. You’ll know you’ve arrived when you spot the line, which begins forming before 5pm on weekends. Once inside you’ll see Maydan’s open-fire hearth on the first floor, where the magic happens. Get your tastebuds ready, it’s time to experience one of nation’s best new restaurants!

My weekend brunch spot (and probably everyone else’s in DC)! Great place to enjoy traditional French dishes in an almost perfect replica of a Parisian cafe! My personal favorites are the burger (if you haven’t experienced a French burger this is a must), chicken sandwich and fluffy pancakes. Pro Tip: Order a single pancake and the dish of your choice. It’s less expensive and you can try other items!

Small, intimate spot to grab tasty cocktails right off 14th street. Owned by the local legend Tom Brown and made up of one long bar and a few tables. Cool experience since the bar was converted from a second floor apartment and still feels like it!

Cool outdoor spot to grab drinks on a summer night! Located in Shaw’s Blagden Alley near Tiger Fork and Columbia Room. I would recommend visiting all three if you have the time!
