Bakery
Camberwell Church Street is really well served by late night shops. There is a lovely local Greek bakery open every day called Sophocles which is great value!

Conseils aux voyageurs
Se déplacer dans les environs
Getting around by bus
The flat is really well served by bus, tube and train. If you have a contactless bank card this is an easy, economical
way to get around public transport/hire bikes. Otherwise you can buy an oyster card.
12 goes over Westminster Bridge where you can take in Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, finally Piccadilly Circus. Fabulous views - try and sit on the
top of the bus at the front.
176 goes through Waterloo past the Young Vic theatre, through Covent Garden and finally Tottenham Court Road. Great views at the top seat again!
The 35 or 40 bus will get you East.
Voyage avec enfants
Families
Buses can be easier than getting around by tube. Children under 16 travel free with you and you can use contactless cards if you like (or Oyster).
Denmark Hill train station offers a calmer way to navigate the city. It's also good to get the bus to Elephant and Castle and then walk wherever you want to after that - it's a good start point for any direction.
On Camberwell Church Street, Pigeonhole Cafe and Falafel & Shawarma are cheaper and more relaxed than a restaurant and popular with children/teenagers. Pigeonhole has picture books :) Theo's pizzeria is also a delicious option - go early

LGBTQ+ visitors
On the whole London is an accepting and tolerant city and welcomes everyone. If you want to go to LGBTQ+ cafes, bars or cinema for example, it's the best :)
Try the BFI - British Film Institute cinema in nearby Waterloo; local evening venues in Camberwell and Peckham and Vauxhall or check the Time Out recommendations:
