A wonderful coastal town very close to Fethiye - Gocek hosts yachting marinas and even a mini beach on Gocek island to visit (take a water taxi). You can also hire a private yacht charter or mini gulet cruise to the twelve islands offshore.
The main promenade is a treat to people watch. The one street of shops has many interesting finds from woven clothes to antique trinkets.
Venture along the coastal walkways to find many pretty bars and fine restaurants, some with bathing clubs or private jetties over the water. Local market is held on a Sunday.

Visit the turtle rehabilation centre by bus from Dalyan's otobus park.

Fethiye's Fish Market (Balik Pazari) off Hukumet Cad.
This is a great place to eat fish and catch Fethiye's ambience at sunset. The busy market with its restaurants gets filled with local Turks who meet after work and foreigners alike. In the courtyard choose your fresh fish and restaurants take care of the rest for you. ( Please ask to make sure your fish is from the sea and not farmed type if you are paying a higher price!) You can also shop for fresh fruit and vegetables and spices in adjoining halls.
