Annalena has quietly risen into the ranks of the best restaurants in Vancouver and its only a 5 minute walk from the studio. Pro tip: have dinner at AnnaLena and then walk over to Supermarine for a late night digestif/cocktail.

This great little coffee shop sells locally sourced produce and also offers some pretty delicious baked goods. Its a well known spot in the neighbourhood that has outdoor benches for sipping on a coffee and people-watching.

Cafe Zen is a Kitsilano staple - its a little diner style breakfast joint that serves up some delicious eggs benedict. My favorite breakfasts are the "flo-benji" and the "huevos tapatios." Don't be discouraged by a massive line at the entrance because it always moves quickly and nobody waits longer than 10 minutes.

Without a doubt, this coffee shop serves up the best coffee in Kitsilano and arguably, the city. If donuts are your thing, look no further - its the other thing they do really well. My recommendation for donuts are the French Crueller and the Orange Pistachio. Pro-tip: if you get there before 9 AM, they usually offer a Pistachio Almond Croissant and I highly recommend that you try it as well. My father has flown from Italy to Vancouver just to rekindle his love affair with that croissant on many occasions

They make some pretty great coffee and all of their baked goods are gluten-free. Personally, I'm a big fan of gluten but these gluten-free baked goods are a force to be reckoned with.

If you're looking for a great patio to have some delicious beer while taking in views of the pacific ocean, this is one of the best in the city. However, if you're looking to have a laid back time while taking in the scenery, I'd recommend avoiding this spot on Fridays after 6 PM, Saturdays after 3 PM, and Sundays after 2 PM. It turns into a pretty pretentious "scene" after those hours (and trust me, I know this all too well because I've worked there before).

By far my favourite restaurant in the neighbourhood. It offers high end Italian food in an unpretentious atmosphere for a very reasonable price. They're always pouring some delicious local craft beers and their wine list is excellent as well. I'd recommend them for dinner and brunch on the weekends, they're that good at what they do.

There's nothing particularly special about this bar apart from it's proximity to the studio but its a common local hangout.

Parks & Nature

One of the best places in the city to catch the sunset and its a short 1-2 minute walk from the studio. Bring some beers or wine with you and make an evening out of it!

This is a beautiful, massive park in the city that only the locals know about. Many of the trails lead to the beach and exploring the area is an excellent way to spend a morning!

There are hundreds of things to do in Stanley Park but if your time in the city is limited, I'd highly recommend that you rent a bike near the park (there is a place on the corner of Denman and Georgia St.) and cruise along the seawall of the park. This can be done in less than an hour at a very leisurely pace but you'll want to have at least 3-4 to make plenty of stops along the way to take in the views. In my opinion, this is one of the best experiences Vancouver has to offer.
