There's endless hiking and mountain biking trails here. If you get to the peak, the views are incredible. Our favorite trail is the Freedom (Trail 302) Trail. Also known as the circumference trail. A couple steep inclines, and is about 2 hours round trip. Ending with a nice descent back down to the parking lot. Alternatively, if you're feeling eager, there is the summit trail that takes you to the peak of Piestewa...think of being on a stair stepper for one hour haha!

As a former multi-year member of the world renowned San Diego Zoo, I’m a bit of a zoo snob. Thankfully, the Phoenix Zoo is truly one of the best zoos I’ve ever visited. In fact, it’s the largest non-profit, privately owned zoo in the U.S. Most animal exhibits are large and lush, and the focus is on conservation and education. In addition to popular residents like giraffes, orangutans, and elephants — look for indigenous animals like coyotes, mountain lions, and Mexican gray wolves.

Salt River tubing is a great way to cool off in the summer and enjoy some great views. You can rent tubes or bring your own. If you bring your own, make sure it's durable though! Also Make sure to pack a ton of sun screen because it takes several hours to float from the top of the river, to the bottom. You'll also want to buy a cooler and pack some food and snacks.
