Food scene

Woolgoolga is a beautiful seaside town on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. It is just off the Pacific Highway, approximately 20 minutes north of the picturesque town of Coffs Harbour, midway between Sydney and Brisbane. The region is known for banana and blueberry industries and for its ever-increasing tourism. Woolgoolga is also known for its fantastic whale watching and views of the stunning Solitary Islands. Woolgoolga has a very strong Indian community - the local Indian population are the descendants of these Punjabi migrants. Sikhs represent about 25 per cent of the total population of Woolgoolga. They are a mixture of the descendants of the original settlers and immigrants who, over the past century, have come to join relatives and to marry within the community. There are 2 incredible temples in the town as well as 2 great Indian restaurants (Spice Rack for take away & Tandoori Nights if you want to dine in). Woolgoolga has many great cafes & restaurants & is well worth a visit - take away fish & chips from White Salt & a drive up to the "Woopi" headland to watch for whales is a favourite for us! Or brunch in the sun at Bluebottles cafe - highly recommended. There is also a Woolworths & BWS nearby to stock up on food / drink to enjoy on your deck at home.

Sightseeing

"Look at me Now" headland walk is worth the effort to see all the kangaroos that live there. After your walk you can enjoy coffee or a meal at the Surf Street Cafe whilst overlooking the surf.
