A great nearby spot to have some excellent vegetarian lasagna. I go for the delicious Italian food, not the ambience.

Eat at El Tiempo for an authentic Tex-Mex experience. The owners are the same family that created the Ninfa franchise, but sold it. I guess there was some drama, because they opened El Tiempo down the street. The original Ninfa's is good too, but El Tiempo has better recipes and more vegetarian options.

This charming restaurant down the street is a usual spot for most of our neighbors. Maga, the owner, is very sweet and an amazing cook. She cooks different types of food in addition to traditional Mexican plates. The servers may not be 100% fluent in English yet.

In the Montrose area, flocks of hippies unite in drum circles on the front lawn of this art museum. Check out the Rothko Chapel for a spiritual art experience. The fine art museum is free to visitors with donations appreciated.
