Welcome To Country Experience our Mooroopna Walk About held here for our guests at Craigmuir Lake House. Shepperton is found on Yorta Yorta Country and goes by the name ‘Kanny-goopna’ which means ‘deep waterholes by which people camped’. Before the settlement of Europeans in this part of Victoria in the mid 19th century, Yorta Yorta people occupied the land here. More specifically, the people who inhabited the exact Shepperton area were known as the Kailtheban. 120 Thousands of generations of Aboriginal people lived on the lands here before the arrival of European Australians in the 19th century. Today, the Mooroopna Walk About tour held by your hosts Avalon and Tony Karatau will assist visitors in learning a little about the region’s Aboriginal history

Amazing water holes and falls. Please note this is an Aboriginal Sacred site. With scare and birthing trees in the area. So please enter with respect. The Gooram Falls is a beautiful place to visit for a swim and picnic during summer or to rug up in winter and enjoy the views of the rock pools and the water cascading over the rocks. The Gooram Falls are west of the Strathbogie Tableland on the Euroa-Mansfield Road. Two-wheel drive access to the car park is fine all year round.
