This historic Cathedral is well worth a visit, as is Canterbury with its Medieval and Roman history. I recommend Tiny Tims Tea room, a must-have for a cream tea, but only have one between two as the scones are enormous.

If you love cycling or walking the Crab and Winkle way takes you along the old railway line from Whitstable and Canterbury. Not a strenuous walk or ride but 6.5 miles each way. Why not walk into Canterbury, get some food in one of the many cafes and bars and then catch the bus back to whitstable

Why not visit Herne Bay Pier, this pier was once the second-longest in the world, sadly it was damaged over 40 years ago by a storm. Now it has been turned into a mini funfair with lots of beach hut style shops where you can buy beach memorabilia. There are a number of arcades along the seafront where you can play the slot machines and maybe a game of pool. You could get some fish and chips, or an Ice cream and watch the world go by on one of the many benches

This is a lovely spot for a walk for a good pint on a sunny evening. 40 minutes along the seafront to sit outside and watch a beautiful sunset. Have a meal, they have a small menu but the food is delicious and quite well priced.
