Nearby Coastal Access
Caspar beach is accessible from the headlands located at the south end of Caspar Road or drive across the bridge to the South of the village and take the first right (Cabrillo Drive). Follow this road and you will basically be able to park on the beach. You might be lucky enough to find remnants off the mill that was a big part of the Caspar history (we have and you will find pieces off the mill in our wood burning stove mantle).

Explore the Caspar Headlands - just steps away from the cottage. Any of the trail entrances will take you to phenomenal views of the Pacific Ocean. Be careful of the steep cliffs.

Jug Handle beach is accessible from the headlands located at the north end off Caspar Road or head north and park at the Jug Handle parking lot (before the bridge to the north). There is a nice walk down to this lovely spot. Go right from the parking lot.

A beautiful walk on a paved path through history takes you to the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse and museum. A short drive south will take you there. A perfect place for a picnic (but there are so many perfect places to choose from!).

Take a walk around the village. Head South and turn left to discover the remnants of logging homes (some are still lived in, so please be respectful of the neighbors). Head up hill and turn left for a loop that is breathtaking. Walking Down Caspar Street at Sunset is a stunner. You will feel the magic.

Mendocino Botanical Gardens has always been a favorite off ours. Beautiful gardens and a lovely walk along the Pacific Ocean. Take a picnic and take your time!

The Coastal Trail runs from South Fort Bragg to out of town North of MacKerricher State Park. Incredibly beautiful place to take a stroll on a paved path. There are several benches and picnic tables that are perfect for a picnic.
