Bike Shuttle Services
Sundog (Shuttle service and gift shop) is on the right side of the house, if looking at property and is usually YEAR ROUND.
Typically we get shuttled to the top of White Top and then end at the house. It's a gentle downhill ride, around 16 miles. You might actually peddle all of 1/2 mile of it... the rest is just coasting.
Be careful when transitioning from the path to the bridges... depending on the time of the year and the upkeep, sometimes there can be a 4-6 inch difference...so just be mindful of that and warn the kids ahead of time.
With kids and parents that stop every 10 min for more photos... we allow about 5 hours to enjoy it. We also stop for a picnic lunch. People can make it down much faster if they are focused just on biking... maybe around 1 hr... or 1 1/2 hours.
The other option is to start at the house and head to Abingdon. This route is mainly flatter... but will definitely require peddling.
Call in advance and reserve your spots... they fill up fast in the summer and fall.

Activities

If you are at the house, and go right... it goes up about 1/4 mile on gravel trail and then goes across the road and up the mountain side. The other direction goes through town.

Appalachian Trail combines with the Creeper Trail in Damascus and comes right through the front yard... you can head either direction on it! If you are at the house, and go right... it goes up about 1/4 mile on gravel trail and then goes across the road and up the mountain side. The other direction goes through town.

We LOVE Grayson Highlands State Park... beautiful views, but the coolest part... wild ponies! If you want some amazing photos... go here! Trails are easy, ponies are everywhere...

Amazing place to visit! Only about 20 min. on the other side of Abingdon. The main thing to know before heading out... the Channels are 3.5 miles down a trail... so make sure you start the hike in the morning. Amazing photos!!

This is my FAVORITE lake of all times! So beautiful. The water is gorgeous and there are mountains all the way around it. About a 45 min drive. There are a couple marinas... we always rent a pontoon boat and make the day of it.
