Food scene
Great pizza, sandwich and beer joint on Tennyson Street. They have an awesome selection of local beers on tap and an extensive list of cans too. On the food front, choose from their slice of the day, sandwich of the week or craft your own pizza masterpiece.
We love sitting at the bar and chatting with folks around us. On Fridays in the summer, there’s live music on the patio.
And if that’s not enough, they sell amazing donuts in the morning (until sold out).
Don’t miss this spot.

Awesome little sandwich shop right off the heart of Tennyson street.
All the meats are cured in-house and the sandwiches are delicious and creative. Can’t go wrong here as a lunch stop (eat in or take to go).
Featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. As Guy would say, this place is “outta bounds.”

Our go-to for sushi in Denver. This place has fish flown in from Tokyo daily, and the atmosphere is really fun.
Easy street parking even on busy Friday and Saturday nights. We recommend making a reservation, but walk-ins are possible (likely with a short wait).

This is a beautiful old hotel downtown that dates back to 1892. Architecture buffs will love to check out the amazing open atrium. Those looking for a more lavish experience can enjoy an amazing (but pricey) steak at the Palace Arms restaurant and then sip on Scotch and cigars in the richly decorated Churchill Bar.
Afternoon tea service is a really unique experience that I’d highly recommend. You can choose from a selection of fancy teas from around the world, and are served finger food on a three-tiered tray. Special tip: On Friday and Saturday, they have live music. If you book tea at one of their last seatings, you can transition seamlessly to cocktails and jazz!
You’ll really feel the history of this place.

There are a lot of reasons to take a trip up to Boulder (about 30 mins), but Chautauqua Park has to be near the top. It’s an access point to the Flatirons, a series of 5 unique mountain peaks that offers exceptional hiking (difficulty level = high). Even if you don’t want to hike, the views from the park are not to be missed.
