An extraordinary opportunity in an unusual outdoor spot. Het Rieten Dak is a reminder of the old mill that has stood at its current location along the Tweemolentjesvaart since 1648. It is located at Middelweg 3, formerly Aan het Verlaat 43, between the large lakes of Delftse Hout and De Hertenkamp. The mill was built in 1648 on almost exactly the same place to pump the excess water from the Nootdorp polders. The mill was decommissioned in 1892. In 1936 it was decided to convert the now dilapidated mill into a tearoom: Het Zinken Dak. Later a thatched roof was added to the tavern and the name changed accordingly. In 1973 the new operator, Jacobus (Co) van Leeuwen. The reopening took place on April 18, 1973.

When you are enjoying the beautiful nature, but you no longer hear the wind rustling through the trees because your stomach is growling, then stop at De Balije Tuin. The only place that is located directly on the (cycling) route between the Balij Bos and the Bieslandse Bos and where you still have the feeling that you are outside, even inside. The menu features pure, organic dishes, the ingredients of which have been carefully selected. If you are a vegetarian, the menu will make you very happy! They will show you how surprisingly delicious vegetarian food can be. The favourite: bread with spicy chicken pieces. And a good place to eat breakfast! But they don't only serve vegetarian dishes. They also serve e a delicious bouncer with bacon, ham and cheese or a hamburger sandwich.
