One of my favorite places for breakfast, they serve the best "huevos divorciados" (divorced eggs!!!) in Playa! The place is unique, and the food is great!

Casa Sofia is the place to eat out at a low cost....... Prices are amazingly low, food and service are excellent! It´s best to maek a reservation!

Open on weekdays for breakfast and lunch, it is also a locals´ favorite on Fridays when they host "Noche de Divas" . A great place to have a drink and/or dinner on Fridays while you listen to talented artists...

Chichen Itzá is the most famous Mayan site in the area, but Coba is my favorite. You can climb the pyramids and enjoy wonderful views from the top. The site is huge, to see it all faster you can rent a bike or hire a "mayan taxi"...... Beautiful!

Smaller and closer than Merida, Valladolid is a beautiful colonial city that you can explore in an easy daytrip from Playa del Carmen. It can also be combined with a visit of Ek Balam, a beautiful Mayan site..
