Closed off to vehicles, St. George Street is famous for shopping, dining, and historical sites, such as the Old City Gates, the oldest schoolhouse in the United States, and Colonial Quarters. Consider taking one of the many walking ghost tours that depart from St. George Street.

St. Augustine Beach is 10 minutes from the Urban Cottage. Park at the Pier or the other public parking spots along A1A. Further down the beach, you can drive directly on the sand (it's recommended you have 4-wheel drive to do this!). St. Augustine Beach is very family friendly - and a great place to bring your dog as well.
