The best sushi in Cape Town (trust me - I've tried them all). It's in the middle of the V&A shopping Centre, which is a bit weird, but don't let it put you off. Go for the '4x4' combo or the sashimi.

Amazing restaurant! Can't recommend The Test Kitchen highly enough. Book weeks ahead! Check reviews Next door is their sister restaurant called The Pot Luck Club. They serve modern tapas-style meals.

They only serve steak, chips (with Paris butter) and salad. They've recently changed suppliers, and I don't think it's as good - but it's still good value on Monday nights with their 2-for-1 special.

A great, neighbourhood restaurant just a few minutes walk from the apartment. Serves huge portions of nice, (pretty) authentic Mexican cuisine. Book ahead (same day is usually ok)

It used to be amazing... then the chef left, and was only quite good - but it's back to amazing. If you're in CT in winter, they have an incredibly good value Winter Special menu for lunch & dinner.

A shack on the beach (that they're about to renovate). Kleinmond is a lovely drive from CT winding around the R44. Have the calamari at Shellfish. Keep an eye out for whales in season. They're close!

Wander around the lovely Bo Kaap neighbourhood (It's that area with all the little colourful houses that you see on postcards). It's about 3 mins from the apartment. Don't forget your camera!

A 'must see' in CT, Book early and be prepared for cancellations due to weather. Can be a bit 'hit and miss' depending on your guide. Ferries depart at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm, weather permitting.

Definitely worth a visit. The restaurants are touristy - but still decent value. The 2hr catamaran trips around the harbour are good fun. Souvenir shops are generally cheaper than Greenmarket Sq.

Good for a walk around, but be sure to bargain hard! Check prices at some of the shops in the V&A Waterfront 1st. I just buy my gifts there now. But it's fun to walk around and have a banter.

My favourite daytrip. Go up to the lighthouse, but also be sure to walk around the back and out to the actual point. Keep an eye out for ostriches, baboons, eland and zebra in the park

A very beautiful drive that hugs the cliffs on the way down the peninsula. Definitely worth a couple of stops on the way to look for whales, seals etc.

At 1 end of Chapman Peak Drive - this is a massive beach. You don't realise how big it is until you see people/horses/dogs on it. You can organise horse rides along the beach here as well.
