Kew Gardens is the UK's most important research botanical garden, with beautiful displays of plants from around the world.
This is our local park, just on the other side of Surrey Quays station (3 minutes walk from here). It is a smallish but well kept park, with a little lake in the middle and a band stand. Perfect for a short jog or a walk. It is often full of flowers in spring and summer, but I find it fascinating especially in autumn when it becomes a big red carpet of leaves.

Gomm RoadThis is our local park, just on the other side of Surrey Quays station (3 minutes walk from here). It is a smallish but well kept park, with a little lake in the middle and a band stand. Perfect for a short jog or a walk. It is often full of flowers in spring and summer, but I find it fascinating especially in autumn when it becomes a big red carpet of leaves.
Beautiful small park in the heart of Westminster. It is very touristy but worth stopping by on a bench to get some rest while going around the main attractions of the heart of London.

This is our local pub, literally next door to our building. It is frequented by different types of people, as it should be for a local pub. The typical English food is reasonable for its price and the beers are pretty cheap ( a filling meal with an alcoholic drink can cost only 6-7 pounds).

The Vortex is one of the best jazz clubs in London, hosting different types of jazz every night and entirely run by passionate volunteers (I am one of them!). The atmosphere is relaxed and the entrance fee goes from £6 to £16, depending on the gig. Check the daily programme on their website or ask me :)

This is a lively-young area just a few stops on the overground from here. There are plenty of places where you can get a drink and some others where you can also stop and dance.

Sightseeing
Just a few stops by bus from the flat you can find Greenwich. There, you'll find the Cutty Sark (an old sailing ship), the park with the meridian, the naval museum, a market, lots of little shops and a nice walk on the Thames. Bus 188 or 199 can be taken in front of the flat.

This is a big cultural centre on the South Bank of the river Thames, next to Waterloo tube station. It is enjoyed mostly by Londoners that join the various events that are organised daily: concerts, kids activities, festivals ...they can just stop by to read a book sitting in front of a nice view of the river. The entrance to the centre is free but activities and concerts usually have a reasonable entrance fee.
