Rathwood is an award-winning family run department store and restaurant. In 1994 a 3,500 sq ft potato shed was transformed into 15 acres of land to show off furniture, gifts, gazebos, garden sheds, pots and plants. An animal park, forest walks, train rides and a children’s play ground are some of the exciting and different activities that visitors can avail of when they visit Rathwood. A neighbour turned his hobby into a business and opened a Falconry and Birds of Prey Centre at Rathwood in 2009. In 2014 Rathwood opened their newest attraction – The Maze of Ireland. The maze consists of 2500 beech hedging woven together in the shape of Ireland covering 1.2 acres.
