There are some new restaurants here. There's also a water park and a place to walk along the pier. You can pick up tours and take a ferry to Portsmouth from here as well.

This is our favorite Norfolk beach. We love the quiet, the quaint and friendly feel of the neighborhood, and just the beautiful sunsets.

Great shopping and restaurants in the heart of Norfolk. This is also the best place to park. During the days it is $1 for up to 3 hours parking. It may be slightly more in the evening.

We love walking and wandering here. There's also a water park for little ones. You can also sit on the hill and listen in to traffic control as you watch planes take off at nearby Norfolk International Airport. ( I believe there is a special gate to the park for those who have layovers so they can enjoy the outdoors. We also have a membership and can possibly get you in if you are interested.

We love walking and wandering here. There's also a water park for little ones. You can also sit on the hill and listen in to traffic control as you watch planes take off at nearby Norfolk International Airport. ( I believe there is a special gate to the park for those who have layovers so they can enjoy the outdoors. We also have a membership and can possibly get you in if you are interested.

A beautiful place to walk, cycle . The Spanish moss makes a walk here seem magical. There are lots of trails. You can go from the bay to the ocean through beautiful woods. Look it up!

If you need to hang out at the airport for any reason there is free courtesy access to the Gardens from the airport parking lot. Ask for directions.

Beaches
There are so many great beaches around here. We'll list a few.
This is our favorite go to family beach. It's lovely any time of day, and in the evening it's a safe quiet neighborhood to walk through. No bathrooms, but we've mentioned some nearby restaurants. WE LOVE IT HERE! ( FYI- This is on the bay, not the oceanfront so there are no big waves.)

Relaxed, wide sandy beach on the bay with tree- shaded areas, free parking, and restrooms. During the summer the Big Bands play on Sunday nights.
