The Slate Quarry - first opened in 1816, a working quarry on and off since then. Slate from here has been used for places like the Paris Opera House and London’s Houses of Parliament - worth visiting!

Cahergall is a very well preserved fort, still magnificent after hundreds of years. For this alone it is worth visiting. In addition, it is located a few minutes outside Cahircveen.

Another example of the architecture from 800-900 AD, it is perched high up on a hill, in a circular area about 25m in diameter. The views of the surrounding countryside are stunning.
