Super tiny Restaurant, Bibimbap and various kroean salads, good beer with it, tastefully and well-priced. Only 100 metres from my apartement so I like to go there at least once a week.

Young korean snack bar, painted in bright colours. Serves chicken wings with various delicious sauces, bibimbap, korean burger and sweet potato chips. I like to go there with friends before a night out - the food is a good base for long nights and the prices are allright.

Get the best german sourdough bread and delicious danish pastries in this unpretentious gem close to the apartment. Also the staff is very friendly and fluent in english :)

Cozy italian place with huge pizzas and delicious house wine, both reasonably priced. Located in the heart of the beautiful Gräfekiez and at lovely Admiralsbrücke where all the locals come together in the evening. Also it's just 3 min by foot from the apartment :)

The Markthalle IX is an old railroad storing hall which is now used as a contemporary market hall in Berlin-Kreuzberg. It's bustling with little market stands and represents the economic and social center of the neighborhood.

Sightseeing
You have to be willing to climb some stairs, but the view is definitely worth it. Super cheap entrance fee, first you go through a little museum and then you climb the Siegessäule. For people like me who like to do sightseeing but don't want to wander around Reichstag for 6 hours straight ;)

Metro lines U1 and U8 (in my opinion to of the most important lines in Berlin public transport) as well as 140 Bus from Bergmannkiez (western Kreuzberg) to Ostbahnhof (Friedrichshain).

Go to beautiful Kollwitzkiez (Kiez means quarter). First get a coffee at “Betty’n Caty” or a delicious homemader icecream at “Süßfein”. Then go into “Park am Wasserturm” and checkout the old water tower on a small hill. You’ll have a great view from up here!
Then go for an Apero to “ABC - Allans Breakfast Club” or go directly for some delicious Hummus to “Zula Hummus Café” (Budget) or “SimSim Levantine Eatery” (Bit more pricey).
If you’re in the mood for a little walk (max. 10 min) and some delicious pizza go to “Otto” or “Standard”.
Then end your trip with a true German experience in “Prater Biergarten” - if you like beer order the Hefeweizen!
