This is the original! The park is fed by the clean, chilly waters of the Comal River and is a great place to hang out on hot Texas days. Take your own picnic and get there early to claim a picnic table.

Food Scene
Cajun inspired seafood - high quality and great atmosphere! On Friday and Saturday nights, there is usually live music in the courtyard and on Sundays, there is a fabulous bloody mary bar. McAdoo's is housed in the original Post Office, which has been converted into a beautiful space, while reusing many of the original materials.
As a New Orleans transplant, it was a great relief to discover real cajun cooking in the Hill Country. (With a little Texas influence, of course. The seafood enchiladas are wicked!)

Mamacita's is tacky in the most delicious way. Excellent food and great margaritas.
This locally owned and run restaurant is set in a building originally constructed in the 1920's and is surrounded by other renovated buildings containing shops and galleries, creating the pedestrian Grassmarket. Huisache serves delicious, fresh American-style soups, salads, and entrees and features a nice wine list. This little gem is charming and the food is excellent!

Crosswalk offers specialty coffee drinks, nice salads, sandwiches, and wraps. I believe it is local, and have always had a good experience. It is one of the healthier options in the area, and in nice weather, I like to sit outside and enjoy the view of Main Plaza in this cute little town.
