It is located on the right bank of the Danube, 30 km from Budapest. It is called a castle town because of the city’s main attractions. Visegrád is said to be one of the most beautiful cities in Hungary with a breath-taking view of the Danube Bend.

Validate your metro ticket
To validate your ticket, simply stick it into one of the orange machines at metro station entrances for a few seconds. You’ll hear a validation mark being printed onto the ticket and then a beep.

Pedestrians have the right of way on zebra/pedestrian crossings in Hungary and generally, vehicles will give way to you. As always though, exercise caution!
