This is an upscale macaron bakery that makes macarons (which I adore) in many different flavours. It's pricey and there is often a lineup outside this little shop, but if you love macarons and you've never been to their original store in Paris, then this is a good time to try!

A French bakery/patisserie that serves upscale hot chocolate and coffees with delicious artisan cakes and desserts. You can sit on their patio outside or enjoy your dessert and coffee inside. It gets quite busy but it's lovely because they stay open late.

A 24 hour inexpensive bakery that serves coffees, a variety of pastries and cakes, and fresh loaves of bread! You can also enjoy sandwiches and other made to order deli items here.

A very hip and cool steakhouse with one of Vancouver's best happy hour: 2:30pm to 5:30pm there are $5 beers, cocktails and wine with 50% off the cocktail happy hour menu.
Definitely try their happy hour menu! You can also have dinner here; try their Rooftop dining, or get seated at the upper levels where there is usually a drinks and dessert cart that comes around to make you a flambé dessert right at your table.
Overall a trendy place to hang out but I only go there for their happy hour.

This bar has a great location and a huge patio that overlooks Coal Harbour. It's always very busy on a sunny day; I only recommend this for the patio location as inside the restaurant it is very dark.

One of my favourite bars on Friday nights because they have live music after 9pm. This bar features delicious Irish bar food (love their Guinness stew) and stunning views of the water. There is a drink or food deal every day (Wine Wednesdays, Prime Rib Sundays) including happy hour from 3-6pm.

A local bar that features a DJ that spins music from 9pm onwards on most Fridays. This is close to the apartment and they have happy hour drink specials until 6pm. The food is average, but the upstairs bar area gets super crowded at night. This is a good location if you need something close by.

The most value-oriented and cost-effective sushi restaurant in Vancouver. I love coming here because the servers are quick, the sushi pieces are huge, and they give you a free Japanese salad and miso soup for every order.
I recommend ordering salmon sashimi (if you like sashimi), the chopped scallop roll (scallops inside AND on top of the roll), the Awesome roll, and any of their other specialty rolls.

I recommend ordering salmon sashimi (if you like sashimi), the chopped scallop roll (scallops inside AND on top of the roll), the Awesome roll, and any of their other specialty rolls.
A sustainable, local farm-to-table approach to West Coast cuisine. The chef is always changing the menu and the restaurant is a place to share some tapas and have some drinks. We come here infrequently because we find the food portions quite light, but their menu is usually very interesting.

A Korean restaurant that turns into a late-night drinking scene. If you love fried chicken and beer (who doesn't?!), this place boasts TRIPLE fried chicken (my favourite is the soy fried chicken).

A very well known Japanese restaurant with stunning views overlooking the water. Highly recommend that you request for a table with a great view! Please try the salmon aburi sushi (they are known for their lightly flamed pressed sushi), it is so addictive and delicious!

There is a great little cafeteria serving cooked food that is fresh, inexpensive and delicious if you need food relatively quick.
