Unguided tours of the Capitol are free every day of the week. You can take an elevator all the way to the top and look out over the city. It's free, very close to the house, and the view is amazing.

Arts & Culture

This is a wonderful museum about the history and culture of Louisiana. The second floor is broken into regions and covers the many different cultures that make up this state, as well as the different celebrations we hold (including, but certainly not limited to, Mardi Gras).

Bars and Nightlife

A whiskey bar that might be the only quiet place to go have a drink in the whole town. If they have TVs, I've never noticed, and they don't play loud music. It has a nice outside seating area in the back.
