The museum tells the story of the Battle of Anghiari and Leonardo da Vinci famous lost depiction of the battle. The museum also offers a walk through the history of the ancient town of Anghiari. There are artifacts from prehistory, as well Roman antiquities and ancient fire-arms, and the Museum retraces the development of this part of Tuscany through reconstructions, objects and historical records.

World famous this is well worth a visit (Florence is a day trip away from La Ceruglia) although the Uffizi does get extremely busy particularly in the High Season.
