Grapes is an old pub currently owned by Ian McKellen, e.g. Gandalf. In this pub Charles Dickens has been a patron. He even made reference to the pub in his novel 'Our Mutual Friend'. “A tavern of dropsical appearance… long settled down into a state of hale infirmity. It had outlasted many a sprucer public house, indeed the whole house impended over the water but seemed to have got into the condition of a faint-hearted diver, who has paused so long on the brink that he will never go in at all.”

Veryyy old and nice pub with tones of character. Sunday is a candle night when no artificial light is used. The pub has a terace overlooking the river. When the tide is high the waves might make your feet a tiny wet.

A supermarket for good value food. If going there from the flat, follow the canal. You might want to have some bread with you to feed ducks and swans.

The first meridian is here! Check out the observatory. There is a free exhibition in the part after the meridian location. Here you can as well see short movies about universe projected on a dome. The park around is as well quite nice and offers a vista on London (not too many hills here). There is a small market at the bottom of the hill and near the station.
It is quite nice to get to greenwich by boat. You can take one of the fast boats from Tower Bridge or Canary Wharf.

If you do that go to the toilet ( think its 60th floor) and enjoy your privacy next to a glass wall overlooking London / London overlooking you. Different option is to visit a bar on around 50th floor and have a drink for no extra fee. But, be careful, dresscode is quite strict, so be pretty and handsome! I never got it up there. =]
