Opened in 1900, this diminutive Anglo-Italian caff captures the distilled essence of the old East End. Portions are generous and although the food's nothing special (fry-ups, pasta, sandwiches), the warm welcome and the banter from the gregarious staff and ragtag collection of local characters crammed around tightly packed tables make it well worth a visit.
