Due to its exceptionally dark skies, Cherry Springs State Park is one of the best places in the eastern seaboard for stargazing and the science of astronomy.
The field is a top of a 2,300-foot high mountain. The surrounding state forest is undeveloped.

Spectacular and breath taking views of waterfalls. The gorge path winds over and under 19 waterfalls. The path actually goes through the spray of Cavern Cascade Rim. Rim trails over look the gorge.

The trail is a hard packed gravel surface.

This a beautiful state park to enjoy a family day outing of easy trail hiking, packed lunch and viewing the Tauhannock Falls. The gravel/dirt pathway runs follows the stream waters down. There are several smaller water falls along the way to the bigger falls. It is about a mile and half to two mile hike. The walking trail is well maintained.
